Exclusive: Judge OK’s The Game’s Bid For New Trial In $7.1 Mill Sex Abuse Case

Woman Won A $7.1 Million Judgment Against Rapper After She Sued Him For Sexual Battery A judge has given the green light to The Game’s bid for a new trial and lower judgment amount in his sexual battery case, BOSSIP has learned. Illinois Federal Court Judge Gary Feinerman filed this week that the rapper, who was born Jayceon Taylor, can seek a new trial and file motions to reduce the $7.1 million in damages a jury awarded his accuser, Priscilla Rainey. The judge threw out his December decision to deny The Game a new trial and request for lower damage amount. In November, a jury awarded Rainey, who appeared as a contestant on The Game’s reality dating show “She’s Got Game,” $6 million in punitive damages and $1.1 million in compensatory damages against The Game after she accused him of exposing her privates and molesting her in front of a crowd on stage. In court papers, lawyers for The Game blasted the judgment amount as “monstrously excessive,” and said the trial wasn’t fair to the “This Is How We Do” rapper because he wasn’t able to appear in person as he was recovering from emergency surgery. But Rainey said The Game’s legal arguments didn’t hold any water, and the $7.1 million that a jury awarded her wasn’t excessive given the facts of the case. She said the jury’s award was in line with judgment amounts in similar cases. However, the judge sided with The Game, and said the rapper can come back to court and argue why he should get a new trial and pay way less damages to Rainey. Both sides are due in court at the end of the month.

Exclusive: Oprah Inks Deal Show Steal Suit

Deal Settles Suit Over Reality Show “Iyanla: Fix My Life” Oprah has reached a settlement with the woman who accused her of stealing her show idea and turning it into the hit OWN show. The media mogul and her accuser reached a deal last week to have all claims against her and her network dismissed and the terms of the agreement will be sealed. Back in October, a Mississippi woman named Otisa C. Strickland sued Oprah, accusing her of stealing her show idea named “The Agency.” Strickland claimed Oprah used her proposed idea and created “Iyanla: Fix My Life,” which she said was a “carbon copy” of hers. The woman said in court documents that the two shows were virtually identical and both involved a counselor that travel across the country to people’s homes to counsel them about their life problems. Strickland said Oprah had access to her show idea because she accused the TV host of stealing another show back in 2011. Strickland said the OWN show, “In the Bedroom with Dr. Laura Berman” was a rip off of her show idea “Conflict Solutions.” The woman believed that battle put her on Oprah’s radar and allowed her to steal her idea entitled “The Agency.” “Iyanla” has been on OWN for over six seasons and has been a consistent hit for the network. Strickland’s suit demanded unspecified damages from Oprah and her network. The media mogul had yet to respond to the allegations in the complaint. Then on December 16th, a judgment of dismissal was entered in the case, stating Oprah and Strickland reached a compromise and settlement of all pending claims. Under their agreement, the case will be dismissed and all claims against Oprah and her network will be thrown out. The terms of the settlement will remain confidential.

Funkmaster Flex Sued For $1.6 Mill For Screwing Photog Over

Photographer says DJ Used His Work Without Permission A photographer has slapped veteran DJ Funkmaster Flex with a $1.65 million lawsuit accusing him of screwing him over by using his work without permission or paying him a dime. Christopher Sadowski filed suit against Flexco LLC and Aston Taylor Jr. – aka Funkmaster Flex – accusing him of copyright infringement, and has demanded the Hot 97 DJ pay up for the damage he allegedly caused. Sadowski – who described himself as a well-regarded professional photographer that specializes in breaking news and events – said Flex’s website, InFlexWeTrust.com, has a bad habit of lifting photos from news websites without permission or attribution, and in his case, the photog claimed Flex’s site took photos he licensed to the New York Post and used them without permission or payment. The photos in question included pics of Whitney Houston’s gravesite, a coyote found wandering in Manhattan, and a photo of the new Freedom Tower. Sadowski explained the website is full of news and information posts that are explicitly sourced from other outlets and the overwhelming majority of those posts are accompanied by photographs or videos – which he said Flex doesn’t have the rights to use. Around May 2014, the man says he sent off a cease and desist to Flex after he noticed his photos being used illegally. Flex took down some of the photos, but over time the photographer noticed many more of his work was being used without permission. Sadowski is suing for an injunction ordering Flex to cease using his copyrighted work & remove his photos from all posts on his website along with $1,650,000 in stator damages and $275,000 for violation of the DMCA. Flex is a professional radio DJ, musician, and producer and well known in the music industry. He promotes himself as “America’s No. 1 radio personality, reaching more than two million listeners a week”.

Anonymous Cop Sues BLM Leader DeRay McKesson For Inciting Protesters To Beat Him Down

Cop Files Federal Lawsuit Against DeRay McKesson For Black Lives Matter Rally An officer choosing to remain nameless is suing DeRay McKesson for organizing a BLM rally for the police shooting death of Alton Sterling, claiming he was severely injured by a riotous crowd which DeRay incited. “John Doe” says the July 9th rally was blocking streets, causing need for police to come control the crowd. According to court docs, this is where things went left. Via TMZ : The anonymous cop says he and his fellow officers were first pelted by full bottles, looted from a Circle K — and when the water ran out, someone picked up a piece of concrete … or a rock … and chucked it. He says he was struck in the face and went down hard. He says he lost teeth, and injured his jaw and brain. In the suit, he blames McKesson for inciting the violence. He points out tensions were already high because the Dallas PD ambush happened just 2 days earlier — and Alton Sterling had been shot by Baton Rouge cops on July 5. He’s suing for his medical bills and damages. SMH. Isn’t part of being a riot cop assuming these types of risks in the first place? And how can you blame someone who arranged a PEACEFUL protest for the reckless actions of a crowd — IF this is even what transpired??

Jared Fogle Had Sex With 9-Year-Olds, Wife Claims in Subway Lawsuit

It’s been almost one year since Jared Fogle was sentenced to 15 years in prison  on child molestation charges, but new revelations about the former Subway spokesman are still emerging.  The latest comes from a lawsuit that Fogle’s ex-wife, Katie McLaughlin, recently filed against the Subway corporation. McLaughlin claims that Subway execs knew about the allegations against Fogle, but instead of investigating, they aided in an effort to conceal his crimes from the public. “As early as 2004, Subway’s then Senior Vice President of Marketing received a complaint that Jared had approached a young girl at a promotional event for a Las Vegas Subway franchise for a sex act,” reads a portion of the suit, obtained by Radar Online. “Subway exploited his family despite knowing of allegations that Jared was a pedophile and failing to properly investigate those allegations.” McLaughlin alleges that Subway questioned Fogle, but refused to have any contact with his victims, for fear of legitimizing their claims. “A responsible corporation would take immediate action when hearing of this behavior,” McLaughlin reportedly said in a recent deposition. Four years after the corporation first learned of the accusations, McLaughlin alleges, Fogle sent shocking text messages to a Florida Subway franchisee, who in turn alerted the company’s CEO, Jeff Moody. The franchise owner reportedly informed Moody “that Jared had had sex with minors from age 9 to 16.”  Moody allegedly replied: “Please don’t tell me any more. Don’t worry, he has met someone. She is a teacher and he seems to love her very much, and we think she will keep him grounded.” View Slideshow: 13 Shamed Celebrity Spokespeople “Subway exploited his family despite knowing of allegations that Jared was a pedophile and failing to properly investigate those allegations,” McLaughlin’s lawyers claim. McLaughlin is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. And if her claims hold up in court, Subway could find itself coping with a PR nightmare that it may never recover from.

19 Celebrities Who Massively Destroyed Their Lips

From Kylie Jenner (the OG Lipmaster) to Farrah Abraham, check out 19 celebrities who completely destroyed their mouths with some kind of …   Needle. With a needle, friends. They destroyed their mouths with needles, and nothing else, okay?  1. Farrah Abraham Farrah Abraham claimed that she was “allergic” to a fake lip implant, which rendered her face to resemble that of Futurama’s Leela. She looked like hell, yadda yadda yadda, you know what we’re allergic to? BS. We’re allergic to BS, Farrah, so quit sticking your lips – and other things – in it. 2. Kylie Jenner Yes, in 2016 Kylie Jenner’s lips hit peak huge. If they got any bigger, she’d be using a straw to drink all of her meals. Which, come to think of it, appears to be what she’s doing now, since the only opening in her mouth, unless she goes deep and wide, is a straw-sized hole in the place where the lip skin is about to split … Actually, is that her tongue, or is it a third lip? 3. Snooki Snooki, Jersey Shore’s favorite hometown meatball, looks like she’s been rolling her lips into tiny little balls, like she would a meatball. Since becoming a mom, and going overboard with the “Mommy Makeover” that’s so vapidly popular, Snooki’s done everything: her teeth, which are actually a plus these days, her boobs, which look fake AF, and her lips … which are some of the most deformed we’ve seen on a celebrity in a long time. No, girl, no. 4. Aubrey O’Day We all know who Aubrey O’Day is, right? No? Whatever. Look at those lips. They look like they should be stuck to someone’s backside, and we don’t mean the old “kissing one’s ass” phrase, either. This is a hellacious look, and Aubrey would be well-advised to drop the needle before it affects the rest of her head. 5. Kesha Kesha’s body isn’t the only thing that put on some weight over the years (and in her body’s case, much-needed weight; girl was looking waif-thin for awhile there, heaven help her) – her lips have seemed to triple in size, and in fact, they’re so big they’re bumpy. There are literal bumps on her lips from whatever she decided to do. 6. Lindsay Lohan Sorry, Lindsay, but thin is in when it comes to lips. Sorry you’re so late to the party on this one, because for the longest time, you had such lovely, wry, thin lips, and now you have fish asses on your face. Lip number one looks like a fish ass, and – oop! – lip number two looks like a fish ass. Never saw a fish ass before? Just look at Lindsay Lohan’s mouth. It’s like “Where’s Waldo?” just for fish asses. View Slideshow

Taylor Swift Albums: The Definitive Countdown!

Taylor Swift is a global superstar who stops the planet from rotating once every two years when she releases a new album. This cannot be denied or debated. But which of these smash hit albums represent Swift's best work? Which would we prefer to forget? Weigh in below on our rankings of Taylor Swift studio albums… 1. A Decade and Counting… Taylor Swift release her first studio album ever back in 2006. Yes, it’s been 10 years, people! Can you believe it?!? Ready to find out how we’d rank each record? Let’s do this… 2. Fearless Released in 2008, Fearless became the best-selling album of 2009 in the United States. There’s no denying its commercial success. But while “Love Story” and “You Belong with Me” are probably the two most memorable tracks off the record, both are pretty harmless and, really, pretty forgettable in the long run/big picture. 3. Taylor Swift The album that started it all. This record peaked at number-five and each one of its tracks – “Tim McGraw,” “Teardrops on My Guitar,” “Our Song,” “Picture to Burn,” and “Should’ve Said No”- charted within the top 40 in America. Look how young and innocent Swift is in the above photo! 4. Speak Now This is when Taylor really started to get personal. The album debuted atop the U.S. charts and include hits (“Mine,” “Back to December,” “Mean” ) that we knew were about her ex-boyfriends. It was great. 5. Red Swift’s fourth studio album Red became her first number-one in the United Kingdom. It also topped the charts in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand and United States and it included two of her catchiest songs: “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” and “I Knew You Were Trouble.” Good luck getting them out of your head now! 6. 1989 And speaking of catchy songs! Swift’s full-on pop album sold 1.287 million copies, making her the first artist to release three albums with sales of one million within a single week. Amazing. One could almost argue that “Shake It Off” “Blank Space” and “Bad Blood” are her three best tracks of all-time. View Slideshow

Suge Knight: Dr. Dre Tried to Kill Me!

Usually, Suge Knight is the one being accused of shocking acts of violence and generally gangster-y behavior, but these days the  imprisoned music mogul is claiming that one of the most famous names in hip hop tried to have him rubbed out. As you may recall, Suge was shot seven times in the abdomen at a BET Awards after-party in 2014. Despite the presence of 37 security cameras at the 1 Oak nightclub that night, no arrests were made. In a lawsuit filed today, Suge claims the assailant was a hitman hired by Dr. Dre. Knight is requesting $300 million in damages from Dre, but interestingly, he’s not suing for the attempt on his life. Rather, he claims he’s owed the money as a result of the massive amount of cash that the rapper and producer made from selling his Beats by Dre headphone line to Apple. Suge claims to have a lifetime management deal with Dre that entitles him to 30% of his entertainment earnings. Knight says Apple tried to cut him out of the deal, as the company understandably didn’t want to be associated with a guy who tried to kill Eminem , and probably did kill a whole bunch of other people. According to the allegations in the suit, Dre paid a man named T-Money (of course) to assassinate Suge so that he wouldn’t be around to mess up the Apple deal or try to claim his share. So why did Suge sit on this information for so long? Well, it seems he first tried to handle the situation himself, which always ends well. Suge is currently behind bars awaiting trial for the hit-and-run murder of Cle “Bones” Jones. Knight ran Jones over on the set of the NWA biopic Straight Outta Compton last year. According to Knight’s suit – and this is where his allegations really get crazy – Jones was hired by Dre  and Universal, the studio that produced Compton , to murder Suge. Suge decided to do some murderin’ of his own in response, but now claims that he killed Jones accidentally. If you’re keeping score at home, that’s now two hits that Dre allegedly put out on Suge, both of them involving two of the biggest media corporations in the world. In addition to Dre, Knight is suing Apple, Universal, and Tam’s Burgers, the Compton restaurant in whose parking lot he ran Bones and another man over. Hopefully, all of this won’t scare a major studio from one day making a Suge biopic, because this man’s life needs to be a movie.
