Darren Aronofsky responds to comments by Portman’s body double that only 5 percent of the dancing in the film was actually performed by Portman. I guess someone told Britney she wasn’t too fat to wear a leotard and that she wasn’t going to look like the fat kid in the dance recital trying to squeeze into the same costume as the skinny kid cuz they needed cohesiveness in their performance, and dressing her up as the fat blog of shit the other kids dance around in fear cuz it’s not politically correct, assuming Britney Spears cares about being too fat or capable, she’s just going through the motions she is contractually obliged to, cuz her team that lives off her success doesn’t want the money train to ever end, figuring she’s already got no shame, no dignity, and pretty much no soul, they better just ride this bitch out as hard as they can, whether it humilates the bitch or not, cuz she won’t know the fucking different….and the sick thing in all this is that I’m loving her big, round fat ass, I wanna take a fucking bite out of the shit I know is smeared all over it thanks to a lack of hygiene or ability to take care of herself…you know how crazy people are…maybe it’s cuz I know she’s wrapped so tight in that latex that buttery maple syrup is pouring off her….either way…I like it.
Lane says there’s been a ‘cover-up’ to promote idea that Natalie Portman did most of the dancing. By Eric Ditzian Natalie Portman in “Black Swan” Photo: FOX Searchlight “It was really extreme,” Natalie Portman told MTV News in November. “And I definitely felt both physical and mental aftershocks from the experience, because it was the first thing I’ve ever done that was this physically demanding on top of an emotionally demanding part.” She was speaking about the 10 months she spent training to play a ballerina in “Black Swan,” a role that would earn her a Best Actress Oscar in February. Now that awards season is over, however, a controversy has erupted over how much of the dancing in “Black Swan” was executed by Portman and how much was the work of her professional ballet-dancing body doubles. Sarah Lane, a 27-year-old soloist at the American Ballet Theatre who stood in for Portman in the film, told Entertainment Weekly that she has been the victim of a “cover-up” meant to tout Portman’s work at the expense of her own. “Of the full body shots, I would say 5 percent are Natalie. All the other shots are me,” she said. “They wanted to create this idea in people’s minds that Natalie was some kind of prodigy or so gifted in dance and really worked so hard to make herself a ballerina in a year and a half for the movie, basically because of the Oscar. It is demeaning to the profession and not just to me. I’ve been doing this for 22 years.” Following Lane’s comments, Fox Searchlight released a statement that was both supportive of the dancer but emphasized the amount of Portman’s own ballet that made it into the movie. “We were fortunate to have Sarah there to cover the more complicated dance sequences and we have nothing but praise for the hard work she did,” the statement read. “However, Natalie herself did most of the dancing featured in the final film.” The debate caught fire last week after Benjamin Millepied, Portman’s fianc
She’s hated on by millions, beloved by Lady Gaga and parodied by Conan O’Brien . But one thing is certain: 13-year old Rebecca Black is an Internet and television sensation. The rising, controversial star sat down with Entertainment Weekly to speak on a number of topics, including one heartfelt cause… Rebecca Black on The Tonight Show On donating YouTube and iTunes proceeds to earthquake/tsunami relief in Japan : I felt really bad about it. I’ve always wanted to do something about all natural disasters, and I realized now is my big opportunity where I can really help. On props from Gaga : That’s so cool! I feel so star-struck, even though I haven’t met her. It’s so surreal, it’s so crazy. I was just listening to “Born this Way.” I really love all of her songs, I have almost every song of hers on my iPod and I think she’s really a lyrical genius. Her songs are just so upbeat and fun and catchy. On how she parties : Just really being with friends and having fun. Dancing — that’s really what I do at parties. I dance and I hang out with friends. That’s my partying. On her favorite artists : Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Rihanna… Justin Bieber I find an inspiration overall: I love his music, he’s adorable and I love that he’s so young and so big. And Rihanna, how she came out of the Chris Brown thing so strong, that is amazing to me. On future songs: Dance anthem-like stuff, very teen-like pop songs, stuff like that.

‘There’s going to be great chemistry that night,’ Swedish House Mafia member says of the massive Miami Music Week event. By Adam Stewart UMF 2011 Tent Photo: Christian Larson “Wassup, wassup, wanna party?” We know Axwell does, and it’s a pretty safe bet that the rest of the Swedish House Mafia gang are looking to do the same. This Saturday marks the grand opening to their highly anticipated “Masquerade Motel: One Night Stand” extravaganza held on the sultry shores of Miami’s South Beach. “It’s gonna be big,” Axwell tells MTV News. In fact, it’s going to be one of the biggest events Miami Music Week has to offer. Bolstering a sold-out crowd of more than 12,000, die-hard fans will partake in a fantasy world with some of dance music’s biggest names and most dazzling production values, the likes of which have never before seen on the South Beach sand. For those of you lucky enough to score a ticket, we have one word of advice: “Masks on.” “We’re going to be dancing in the sand, which is how I pictured Miami in the first place, anyway,” said Axwell. “That’s how I see the conference. That’s how I pictured it before I came there. I thought I was going to be dancing basically on the beach, and that’s what it is now.” A massive structure is currently being erected on the beach at 8th Avenue and Ocean Drive to house the bash, which is being dubbed as one of the hottest events of Miami Music Week. Being held opposite Deadmau5 and the second night of Ultra Music Festival, “Masquerade Motel” has, in just a short period of time, procured a massive buzz as one of the true “it” events during dance music’s biggest week and, needless to say, one hardest tickets to get. However, if it were not for the Winter Music Conference/ Ultra Music Festival split that ruffled feathers throughout the dance-music community just four months ago, a beachfront permutation of the legendary Pacha Ibiza Monday Night residency may have never even come to fruition. “We thought that [March in Miami] was going to be nice and easy as it always is, but then we heard was that WMC was moving, and then we were like, ‘OK, that’s sad, but we want to stick to our tour,’ ” explained Axwell. “So then [there] was the Ultra Festival situation, where they offered us a tent — and we were on the main stage last year — [and with] all of these exclusivity [deals], we could only play pretty much at Ultra and nowhere else,” he said. “Don’t get us wrong, we really had an amazing experience at the Ultra stage, and the crowd is fantastic and you get to connect with so many people. We wanted to do something different from what we’ve done before, and we didn’t want to step back or limit ourselves to just perform at Ultra. So we were like, ‘Let’s do this thing at the beach,’ ” quite similar, in fact, to the Halloween show that the Swedes performed in midtown Miami. Axwell did admit, though, that it’s not so easy producing your own ‘mini-festival’ on the legendary Ocean Drive beach, let alone putting it all together in just a few short months. “It actually costs more to put on your own event than to just go on the main stage at Ultra!” he admitted. “But, if we did things for money, we wouldn’t be where we are. We do things for our heart … And its sometimes very stupid, moneywise. Like, ‘Oh, let’s blow up this thing here! Let’s have 50,000 gallons of CO2 and fireworks because we like it!,’ and then we see if we have money left for a hamburger! I’m exaggerating a little bit there, but you know, that’s how it came about.” The always-charismatic Axwell, however, is without a doubt elated to be just days away from the event that will also feature artists musically closest to himself and the rest of the gang. “I’m as excited as anyone else. I want to go to the event as well. I want to host that sh–! I want to be there, see the people, see the crowd — I’m gonna run around [going], ‘Wassup, wassup, man! Give it up for Calvin Harris!’ because, I actually haven’t seen Calvin Harris DJ before, so I want to see him DJ, and I want to see Thomas Gold DJ, and I want to see everybody DJ, basically,” he gushed. “I really like the lineup that we have. We’re all kind of friends-ish [and it’s] an ‘in the family’ type of thing. We all have our separate thing going on, yet [there’s] going to be great chemistry that night.” Can’t wait to check in? Then check out “Masquerade Motel: One Night Stand” being built on the Swedish House Mafia Live Blog, and be sure to stick with the MTV News crew for all of the latest action on the ground from Miami Music Week!

‘This song is about love and strength and is dedicated to our friends in Japan,’ will.i.am says before performance. By Kelley L. Carter Black Eyed Peas’ will.i.am and Fergie Photo: FOX On Thursday night’s (March 17) “American Idol” results show, Ryan Seacrest teased that the winner of this season could soon go head-to-head on the charts with the Black Eyed Peas, who hit the stage to perform their new single, “Just Can’t Get Enough,” for the first time. “This song is about love and strength and is dedicated to our friends in Japan,” will.i.am said from behind a piano before the dance track kicked in. Fergie opened the song, sitting atop the all-white piano and wearing a white halter dress, singing the first few notes of the new track. Eventually will, dressed in a white suit, stood up from behind the piano and joined her onstage to sing, while the other Peas members, apl.de.ap and Taboo, also dressed in white, danced, sang and rapped alongside them. Behind them onstage, string players performed, dancers twirled about and couples acted out skits. They ended the performance by jumping around and encouraging the audience to leap to their feet and clap along. BEP have been doing their best to help relief efforts in Japan. The song’s video, which premiered on Wednesday, was also dedicated to the embattled island nation, where the group shot the clip just one week before the earthquake and tsunami struck. At the beginning of the video, this message runs across the screen: “Our thoughts and prayers go out to all the people of Japan. We love you.” This wasn’t the first “American Idol” appearance for the Black Eyed Peas. They performed “Boom Boom Pow” during the season-eight finale , when Kris Allen was crowned the winner, and they’ve also helped out during the show’s “Idol Gives Back” special. Pennsylvania dance duo are set to take the stage at SXSW and Miami’s Ultra Music Festival. By Adam Stewart Designer Drugs Photo: MTV It’s been a long road for Pennsylvania electronic duo Designer Drugs, but for Michael Vincent Patrick and Theodore Paul Nelson, that’s half the fun. Having been making music together for well over 10 years, the duo recently debuted their second album, Hardcore/Softcore, on Ultra Records and have been thrust into the ever-expanding American dance-music audience. Now, on the heels of the album’s second single, “Through the Prism,” featuring rapper and fellow Brooklynite Cerebral Vortex, Designer Drugs are poised to bring their unique brand of grind-house electronic to the masses Thursday night (March 17) at Austin, Texas’ South by Southwest, followed by a huge set on the Live Stage at Ultra Music Festival in Miami on March 25. “We started doing a lot of remixes and just trying to make a specific kind of music,” Patrick told MTV News. “But now, with the album, we are just doing whatever we want and making more of an electronic album.” “We had, like, a hundred songs and riffs,” Nelson added. “And we just basically picked ones we thought were the best for the album and put them all on. We didn’t really have a good idea of what we wanted to accomplish, but it ended up being what it was and we were pretty happy with it at the end.” Kicking things off with the first single “Drop Down,” a wobbly synth monster reminiscent of an edgy Prodigy-esque sound garnished with Gregorian chants, the vibe DD bring to the dance-music game is unique and captivating. Hardcore/Softcore brings the art of an album back to the table, melding full-length tracks with melodic interludes. “I think it kind of helped to tell a story for this album, but we didn’t plan it,” Patrick said. “Nothing for this album was really planned. It all kind of happened; we wrote all the music and then kind of linked it together.” “We just thought, ‘This sounded cool, but let’s not make it an entire song; let’s just kind of put it in there and see what happens,’ ” Nelson added. “But we do listen to a lot of old classic-rock stuff, too, like Pink Floyd and all that other stuff. So there was a little bit of influence from there.” Will you be catching Designer Drugs on the Live Stage of Ultra Music Festival in Miami? Let us know in the comments below!
