‘Dancing With The Stars’ Latin Night Belongs To William Levy

Latin soap star compared to James Bond after Argentine tango Monday. By Kelley L. Carter Cheryl Burke and William Levy on “Dancing With the Stars” Photo: ABC With Monday as Latin night on ABC’s reality hit show “Dancing With the Stars,” it should have been Latin soap star William Levy’s week, right? It was. As the actor and his pro partner Cheryl Burke took on the Argentine tango, Levy played every bit the part of a Latin lover with dance skills, wearing an unbuttoned tuxedo shirt. The judges thought he hit all the right marks — and with a twisted ankle to boot. Carrie Ann Inaba said the actor looked like a “Latin-dancing James Bond.” 29/30 Here’s how everyone else fared: Katherine Jenkins and Mark Ballas Tying Levy at the top was opera singer Jenkins, who also danced the Argentine tango. The judges thought she was perfection and gave her one point shy of a perfect score for her efforts. Head judge Len Goodman said, “This, for me, was like a rose: It had beauty … but underneath was sharp.” 29/30 Maria Menounos and Derek Hough The TV journalist salsa’d her way to a great performance. The judges told her their dance was passionate, hot and had just the right amount of spice. The pair’s routine ended with a hot kiss on the lips. “I don’t think you needed the kiss! The salsa is all about the illusion of passion. Don’t go at it right in front of us,” Inaba said. 27/30 Donald Driver and Peta Murgatroyd The NFL hot shot danced the Argentine tango, and the judges praised him for his control and execution. Judge Bruno Tonioli said he did a “fantastic job.” 27/30 Roshon Fegan and Chelsie Hightower The Disney star pulled off a routine that wasn’t exactly G-rated. But he kept it clean. Goodman told him he moved like “a young guy with his first car.” Inaba joked that he was “sexy in a Disney way.” 26/30 Jaleel White and Kym Johnson The childhood TV star danced the samba and bared a pretty impressive six-pack in the process. The judges were impressed by his moves, with Goodman telling him, “Your bum was going like you were chewing toffee.” 24/30 Gladys Knight and Tristan MacManus The soul legend shook her stuff to the samba, and even though the judges were lukewarm on it, they still praised her. Tonioli told her she was magic, while Goodman said her moves were “simple, but effective.” 22/30 Melissa Gilbert and Maks Chmerkovskiy Gilbert did the salsa — a tough feat considering she was injured last week. In her rehearsal segments, she danced around in a neck brace and hard hat. The judges liked her stick-to-itiveness, and Inaba told her it was wonderful to see her gain confidence. Tonioli said she lacked an element of control. “I saw excellent parts and parts that weren’t so good,” Goodman said. 21/30 Gavin DeGraw and Karina Smirnoff The pop singer rounded out the bottom. He said in his rehearsal segment that he hoped to continue relying on votes from his fans to keep him in the game. He danced the samba, and the judges weren’t too impressed with his moves. “I don’t know whether to laugh or cry,” Tonioli said before adding, “I actually enjoyed it.” The other judges said it was missing key elements. 19/30 What did you think of this week’s “Dancing With the Stars”? Sound off below!

Melissa Gilbert Hospitalized on Dancing With the Stars

Melissa Gilbert suffered a scary spill Monday, but will be okay. The actress, who wound up in the hospital after she fell during the paso doble on Dancing With the Stars last night, offered an update as to her status. “I’m alright. Mild concussion and whiplash,” she tweeted in the hours following the spill. “Very soon I’ll be safely home resting and being taken care of.” Clearly there were no hard feelings toward her partner, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, as Melissa later wrote: “@Maksim you are my champion. I adore you.” Melissa Gilbert & Maksim Chmerkovskiy – Paso Doble (DWTS) Week 4 At the after party on Monday night, the condition of Gilbert, who scored 22 points for the routine, was definitely on the minds of her fellow competitors. “We hope she is OK,” a concerned Maria Menounos told E! News. “I was really sad because she was really excited to go out tonight and celebrate.” “Hopefully she is alright,” added young Roshon Fegan. Her status as far as competing going forward is unclear, but tonight’s results show should provide further updates, we’re hoping. Get well, Melissa!

Dancing With the Stars Week 4: Who Was the Best?

The surprisingly entertaining and evenly-matched 14th season of Dancing With the Stars continued Monday with the top 10 performing Rock Week routines. The first elimination of the season, Martina Navratilova, we could see coming. Last week, which saw the end of Jack Wagner’s run , was a different story. A season that many criticized for lacking star power has made up for it with high quality dancing and engaging characters that all leave us wanting more. Sadly, someone must leave each week, though there is a new twist … For the next four weeks, the bottom two DWTS vote-getters will dance for their lives, simultaneously, with the judges making the final call on who stays and who goes. That won’t do much could in cases like last week, when a six-way tie for the lowest score – which was really quite high – made it unfair for anyone to leave. Still, the judges could bail out an obvious favorite if necessary. Will this rule change even come into play after this Monday’s routines? You tell us below … Who will win Dancing With the Stars?

Donald Driver to William Levy: It’s ON Now!

He’s sexy. He’s a Cuban soap star. He’s got the moves. And he’s shirtless. With all those things going for him, it’s a miracle anyone on Dancing With the Stars even shows up to compete against William Levy. But Green Bay Packers star Donald Driver isn’t about to hand over the Mirror Ball trophy just yet. In fact, he might give William a run for his money in an “ab-off.” William Levy’s sexy, abs-baring salsa routine with partner Cheryl Burke on Monday’s DWTS episode was a sign that the showdown is on, Driver says. “William knows the ladies love us, but they love him a little bit more because he took his clothes off,” Driver told People . “I haven’t taken my clothes off yet.” I’m going to pace myself and talk to the wife; if the wife agrees then I’ll take it off.” Disney star Roshon Fegan, 20, agrees, saying Levy’s display “makes it personal … I’ve got my eye on William and whatever his secrets are – working out in the gym, super-duper protein shakes – I’m gonna get me some muscles.” A worthy goal, but for now, it’s Donald vs. William in this hunk-a-thon. Which DWTS star do you think is … well, hunkier? Cast your vote below!

Mitt Romney Sweeps Wisconsin, Maryland, D.C. Primaries

With more than half the delegates needed for nomination, Romney setting sights on President Obama. By Gil Kaufman Mitt Romney at an election-night rally in Milwaukee, Wisconsin Photo: Getty Images Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney took a big step toward locking down the GOP presidential nomination on Tuesday when he pulled off a clean sweep of the day’s three primaries. With decisive victories in Wisconsin, Maryland and the District of Columbia, Romney appeared to finally vanquish his rivals as he increasingly turned his attention to President Obama. Romney won 42.5 percent of the vote in Wisconsin, outpacing his only remaining threat, former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum, who earned 37.6 percent. Ron Paul and Newt Gingrich were well behind both men in all three contests. In Maryland, Romney took 49.1 percent to Santorum’s 28.9 and in Washington, D.C., Romney landed a commanding 70 percent to Paul’s 12 and Gingrich’s 11; Santorum was not on the ballot in D.C. “This has really been quite a night. We won a great victory tonight in our campaign to restore the promise of America,” Romney said. “President Obama thinks he’s doing a good job — I’m not kidding,” he told a crowd in Milwaukee while standing in front of a large American flag, according to the New York Times . “It’s enough to make you think that years of flying around on Air Force One, surrounded by an adoring staff of true believers telling you that you’re great and you’re doing a great job, it’s enough to make you think that you might become a little out of touch.” After once again slamming the president for creating what he deemed a “government-centered society” based on bloated White House policies, Romney promised his followers that he would preside over a different America if he wins in November. “The dreamers can dream a little bigger, the help wanted signs can be dusted off, and we can start again,” he said. “And this time we’ll get it right.” Romney now has 58 percent of the delegates needed to secure the nomination, but his slow, methodical march to the magic number of 1,144 is not quite over, as Santorum vowed that he would stay in the race through the April 24 primaries. Five states will vote on that day, including his home state of Pennsylvania, where Santorum believes he can put up a convincing victory that might pave the way to more wins in May. According to estimates, Romney has 648 delegates so far to Santorum’s 264. Even before Romney could celebrate, he got a taste of what the general election might feel like when President Obama singled him out for some criticism while speaking to a crowd of editors and reporters in Washington. Obama slammed Romney for supporting a GOP budget proposal that the president likened to “social Darwinism.” “He said that he’s ‘very supportive’ of this new budget,” Obama said of Romney, before seeming to mock his potential challenger’s one-percent pedigree. “And he even called it ‘marvelous,’ which is a word you don’t often hear when it comes to describing a budget … it’s a word you don’t hear generally.” He assailed the budget plan put forward by House Republicans for slashing funding for education and infrastructure in favor of more tax breaks for the wealthy. The fiery speech came on the same day that Obama clinched the uncontested Democratic presidential nomination with wins in all three states. With Santorum (not to mention Gingrich and Paul) showing no signs of leaving the GOP contest, pundits predicted that the road ahead for Romney could still be tough, as he must continue to beat back the other contenders in some Southern primaries in May while attempting to focus his fire on Obama. ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Results: Jack Wagner Booted

Former soap star is second celebrity to be eliminated this season. By Kelley L. Carter Jack Wagner on “Dancing With the Stars” Photo: ABC True to reality-TV form, fans had to wait until the final seconds of Tuesday night’s “Dancing With the Stars” to learn which celebrity would be going home in the second round of eliminations on ABC’s big hit. Host Tom Bergeron joked that he hoped they’d be able to name who was heading home before the show ended, given that there were literally only seconds left and three remaining couples. In the end, there was enough time to announce the winner and get a quick soundbite, but unlike Monday night’s emotional performances, there wasn’t enough time for tears. On Tuesday night’s results show, the final two came down to pop singer Gavin DeGraw and his pro partner Karina Smirnoff and former soap star Jack Wagner and his partner Anna Trebunskaya. Wagner and Trebunskaya were given the boot. Wagner kept his cool when his name was called, saying it was an honor to be able to perform this season and share some of his story. “It was a great time, and I had a great time,” he said. “It was fun to kind of test myself. Thanks to the judges. I appreciated it.” The judges told him his performance was his best of the season so far. On Monday night, he scored 24 points out of 30 for his samba in celebration of meeting his 23-year-old long-lost daughter in 2011. Do you agree with Jack Wagner’s elimination? Sound off below!
