The Casey Anthony trial still has people fired up, and the people who factored into the accused killer’s acquittal are now feeling the public’s wrath. Someone is threatening to kill the 25-year-old, her attorneys, and the jurors who found Anthony not guilty of murdering her daughter this week. According to Casey’s attorney Cheney Mason, his team has received ” all kinds of threats ” at his office since the controversial verdict came in. Specifics are scarce, but the threats have been plentiful, including one credible enough that “we just turned it over to law enforcement.” There are reports Casey’s parents, George and Cindy Anthony (both of whom were key witnesses at Casey’s trial) are also being targeted. George and Cindy are said to have gone into hiding since the jury’s ruling cleared Casey, though this has not been independently confirmed. For his part, Mason doesn’t seem worried, at least for now. He laughed off the threats, claiming the people behind them are “cowards.” Did the jury get it right?

Casey Anthony was found not guilty of murder earlier this week, but was sentenced to a year in prison today for making false statements to investigators. Her lies to police during the investigation of the death of her daughter Caylee came early and often following the toddler’s 2008 disappearance. The Casey Anthony jurors believed that, despite her lies about what happened to Caylee, there wasn’t sufficient evidence that she killed her daughter. However, Anthony was convicted of fours separate counts of lying to authorities – fabrications that sparked a massive manhunt for her missing child. Casey Anthony was also hit with $4,000 in fines. The charges each carried a maximum of a year in prison, and Judge Belvin Perry gave her four years . However, she’s already served most of that. In custody since 2008, Casey may be released from jail in late July or early August based on time served and good behavior while incarcerated. The exact date of her release is still TBD. Anthony’s defense argued that the four misdemeanors occurred during one day of questioning and therefore should be counted as a single crime. To punish her on four counts would violate double jeopardy rules, the defense said, but Perry was unmoved and Casey was jailed – for now. “As a result of those four distinct lies, law enforcement expended time, energy and manpower looking for young Caylee Marie Anthony,” he said. The Odessa American reports Williams filed a lawsuit seeking the return of the $76,600 ring from Brooke Daniels, a former Miss Texas USA. Williams initially mailed the ring — you read that correctly — and a recorded marriage proposal to Daniels in February. Evidently that did not set off wedding bells in her head even though the couple had lived together for a year. Daniels allegedly told Williams she’d lost the ring after he requested it back. Williams’ insurance company later told him Daniels’ father, Michael, was in possession of it. “He said (to Brooke Daniels), ‘I’m not like a lot of people, I don’t want the ring back. You’ll eventually come back to me,’ and she didn’t,” says Michael Daniels, who plans to give the ring back to Williams rather than endure the lawsuit. “I want to wash my hands of it,” said Michael Daniels, who added neither he nor his daughter claimed the ring was lost prior to the insurance inquiry. “It’s just a hassle.
