Gabrielle Union will be working behind the scenes for her next project. Instead of taking on a starring role, Union will be serving as executive producer for a comedy called Black Girl Magic. According to Deadline , the half-hour, single camera series will air on NBC and follows three estranged sisters that reunite in their hometown of New Orleans, LA after they learn about a family secret. Union will be executive producing the show alongside showrunner Robia Rashid and show creators Crystal Boyd, Chandra Russell and Emebit Beyene. Alaskan Bush People fans are still reeling from the news that Bear Brown and Raiven are expecting a child even though they broke up . But Bear isn’t the only one of Billy’s children who’s making headlines this month. One if Billy’s daughter’s is roasting her old man — and every other member of the family. This month, Billy Brown’s estranged Texan daughter took to Facebook to sharply shade her entire extended family. “I’ve never been the average person, walking with the herd or conforming to the masses,” Twila Byars’ post begins. She continues, admitting that she was “at some point thinking I was somewhat abnormal according to the ‘normal.'” So far, of course, she sounds like she’s in lock step with her numerous half-siblings up in Washington. But,a s you’ll see, she is of a different opinion. “So I had an Epiphany today after reading a few things,” Twila shares with her followers. WIth context, we’re guessing that she read some reports about the Brown family. Twila says that she has come to realize “that IM ACTUALLY THE NORMAL ONE IN MY D.N.A. Lineage!” Note that she does not use the word “family” or “father.” That speaks volumes. “Normal, average, and boring never felt so good,” her post concludes. If you don’t know who Twila Byars is … we don’t blame you. For decades she has lived in Texas while Billy lived in Alaska, then Beverly Hills, and now Washington with Ami and their children. But yes, she is Billy’s daughter. Reports say that the two have spoken from time to time, though “keep in touch” doesn’t mean that they speak frequently. She also appeared briefly on Alaskan Bush People in 2016. So what could Tila possibly mean when she puts Billy and seemingly his and Ami’s entire brood on blast? They are, after all, her half-siblings. And Rain, if you’ll recall, is still a minor. But we have to guess that this is at least partially about Bear Brown. The self-described King of Extreme got engaged late in August of this year. He and Raiven, his hot model girlfriend, were so excited … until they broke up, not two weeks later. A two week engagement must be a record, even for reality shows. But that wasn’t the end of their story. After resolving to remain friends, the two of them had another announcement that caught even them by surprise. Raiven is pregnant by Bear. While the two have wisely decided to co-parent as friends, it’s definitely unexpected news. Baby announcements may come before or after the engagement, but seldom after the breakup. Tila may have been taking aim at that. That said, she could have been talking about almost anything. Rumor has it that Gabe and his girlfriend, Raquell, may have been rushed into their own engagement. Then there’s Matt Brown’s extensive struggle with alcohol abuse and his recent resolve to keep on the striaght and narrow. We hope that it’s not about the latter. Addiction is a serious ailment. In court documents posted by The Blast , Beyoncé has upped her claim to the name against Wendy Morales in the trademark battle, stating that her daughter Blue Ivy is a “cultural icon.” “Blue Ivy Carter is a cultural icon who has been described as a ‘mini style star’ and has been celebrated for her ‘fashion moments’ over the years,” the documents states. “Her life and activities are followed extensively by the media and the public.” The documents also point out that while Morales operates under the name Blue Ivy, Queen Bey is attempting to register her daughter’s full name, Blue Ivy Carter , for various business ventures linked to the young icon and that the notion that anyone would confuse the two is asinine. “[Claims] that consumers are likely to be confused between a boutique wedding event planning business and Blue Ivy Carter,” the documents continue. “The daughter of two of the most famous performers in the world is frivolous and should be refused in its entirety.” Beyoncé points out her trademark application is for “Blue Ivy Carter” NOT “Blue Ivy.” The trademark case has been an ongoing battle since Hip-Hop’s royal couple filed to trademark their daughter’s name in 2017, Morales claims that Beyonce and Jay-Z are not intending to actually use the name for business, but instead merely protecting their daughter’s name; while she has been in business utilizing the name before Blue was born. Beyoncé’s claim that Blue is a “cultural icon” comes after Blue earned her first Billboard 100 placement for “Brown Skin Girl,” which she sang with her mother on Beyoncé’s The Lion King: The Gift album. Blue also attended The Lion King premiere with her mom and appeared in the music video for Beyoncé’s original song in the film, “Spirit.” The case is expected to go to trial.
Nicole Murphy , 51, appeared on The Wendy Williams Show today to tell her story behind the smooch that ran Lela Rochon off the internet temporarily. As far as her having a full-on affair, Murphy says “trust me, I wish it didn’t happen. It was a moment where I should’ve thought more through the situation. Make better judgments. Source: Antonio Garcia / EyeEm / Getty On Monday, a hog farmer in Iowa was found guilty for the murder of his wife , who died in November 2018 after being impaled with a corn rake. According to reports from The Telegraph Herald , a jury in Dubuque County convicted 43-year-old Todd Mullis of first-degree murder in the death of his wife Amy Mullis. The conviction carries a mandatory sentence of life in prison without parole. This conviction comes almost a year after Amy was found on the couple’s farm with the tool lodged in her back. Police said back in March that Amy’s death came not long after Todd learned that she had multiple affairs behind his back. She had apparently warned people beforehand that if her husband caught ever her cheating, “he might make me disappear.” She also was said to have told a friend that if she ever vanished, “you’ll know Todd did something to me.” Well, she was right. Email Submit Todd insisted to authorities that his wife simply fell on the sharp tool while by herself, but medical examiners found six puncture wounds and noted the rake was four-pronged. During the trial, Dr. Kelly Kruse–the forensic pathologist who performed the autopsy on Amy’s body–testified Amy’s cause of death was sharp-force injuries of the torso, saying that Amy was impaled at least twice and possibly three times by the corn rake. Back in March, it was reported that Todd called 911 the day his wife died. He told police that he removed the rake and started driving his wife to the hospital, which is when they were met by an ambulance who rushed Amy to the emergency room. Amy and Todd were married in 2004, and had three children together. Police learned during their investigation that the couple’s marital problems began in 2013, when Todd caught Amy cheating. Even though Todd continued to tell detectives the relationship was fine, police eventually learned a second lover was discovered last summer. That second lover, Jerry Frasher, testified in trial, and told police that Amy had said she wanted to leave her husband but was “scared to death” of him. Defense attorney Gerald Feuerhelm told The Telegraph Herald Todd would appeal the court’s ruling. This Is Us just did it again. We guess we shouldn’t be surprised at this point. And yet: That’s sort of the whole point, isn’t it? On This Is Us Season 4 Episode 1 , which aired Tuesday evening on NBC, the beloved drama shifted our focus from its core characters to a bunch fo newbies… prior to wrapping up the premiere with yet another twist that brought everything together. Appropriately titled “Strangers,” the episode introduced fans to: Cassidy (Jennifer Morrison), an intense military officer whose wartime stint in Afghanistan left her detached, drinking and not very close to her husband, Ryan (Nick Wechsler), and their young son. After losing some control, along with her loved ones, Cassidy sought assistance from a veteran’s support group. From there, we saw her first meeting was interrupted by… Griffin Dunne’s Nicky , who hurled a chair through the window in a fit of drunken anger. Then there was Malik (Asante Blackk), a teenager who’s attempting to provide for a young daughter — at any cost. This new character’s parents are Darnell (Omar Epps) and Kelly (Marsha Stephanie Blake), who shower him with affection and also plenty of babysitting. Darnell made sure that Malik had a few moments of carefree bliss at a friend’s barbecue, where the latter grew instantly smitten with a new-to-Philly girl whose name is… Deja (Lyric Ross). Following along so far? Because we’re about to change time periods. In a flash-forward, viewers met a bold, quippy, struggling blind musician … who married the waitress at the diner he happened to visit by happenstance … and is now enjoying burgeoning fame, because this guy is… Jack (Blake Stadnik). Yes, present-day premature son of Kate and Toby! Both grandmother and mother had music dreams — and Jack was the one who seemed to turn similar dreams into an actual, successful reality. There’s your major Season 4 premiere twist, folks. Elsewhere, however, this opener was anchored in the past, traveling back to the early 1970s as Jack and Rebecca returned from their amazing road trip and were feeling out the possibilities of this new romance. Jack was invited to meet her parents (the incomporable Elizabeth Perkins and Tim Matheson) at a country club dinner, where our favorite underdog Vietnam veteran managed to impress everyone at the table. Ultimately, however, Rebecca’s father shook his hand … and told Jack that wasn’t good enough for his daughter. That’s a lot to take in overall, of course. Thankfully, showrunner Dan Fogelman spoke to Entertainment Weekly and broke down this shocking This Is Us premiere. Why did he introduce new characters in this fashion? Normally you would meet characters through the eyes of your main characters, which always gives you a little bit of a skewed perspective, because you’re meeting them through our characters. But that’s not how you meet strangers in real life. The first time you meet the person who becomes your husband or wife or your new boss or your business partner, they’ve had a whole life before you and the meeting with them is your first experience of them. So I wanted to give the audience that feeling of getting to know these people before you got to know them in relation to our main characters. What will the relationship between Cassidy and Kevin be like? The relationship is complicated, it’s formative, and it’s a very deep, interesting, bizarre relationship. And whether or not it’s ever romantic is for the series to delve into a little bit later on. But it’s an interesting thing when you look back — she’s going to be somebody who adjusts a part of the course of Kevin’s life. As is the entire first half of the season that he’s embarking on. How far might the show flash forward? Beyond Jack at the concert? I mean, anything’s possible. It’s not in the current plan right now… We do have plans for the future and that which we call “the deeper future” — because we call it the one where Rebecca’s in bed “the deep future” — but I think we would only being going past that linearly. Meaning a continuation of where we’ve been with Jack, but not even jumping further into the 2300s or anything like that. How will Jack’s blindness affect Kate and Toby in the present day going forward? It’s a gigantic story… Raising a child is a complicated process, and raising a blind child comes with extra challenges. Obviously, having a newborn child — with or without sight — is a challenging time for young parents. For any parents. You’re snipping at each other, you’re exhausted. [Now] there’s added stuff. The hit caused the elderly man to fall and hit his head on the ground, which is when he claims he went unconscious for a brief amount of time. Paramedics along with Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies quickly responded to the scene at the time of the accident and and Ali cooperated with law enforcement, so she was not arrested. In court documents obtained by TMZ, Robert Ise (the man Ali hit) says he suffered a left orbital blowout fracture, a concussion, and lacerations and contusions across his body. Ise claims he still suffers from pain and emotional distress due to Ali’s negligence while driving, and now, he wants her to pay for all past and future medical expenses.
