Mariah Carey has shared adorable photos of her daughter Monroe putting on mommy’s makeup. Mariah Carey Shows More Photos Of Dem Babies Via RadarOnline reports : In Instagram pictures released on the pop diva’s Twitter account on Friday, little Monroe, 1 1/2, is shown sweeping a makeup brush over Mariah’s face. And a delighted Mariah captioned the moment of mother/daughter bonding: “Beauty school hour 01 lol.” As usual, Monroe — whose dad, Nick Cannon, and twin brother, Moroccan, were understandably not seen in the girls’ day photos — had an outfit to die for, dressed up in stylish polka dots with a bow in her hair and a tiny gold bracelet on her right wrist. Mariah wore a blissful expression with her eyes closed as her precious little girl appeared to be trying to powder the singer’s face with the makeup brush. Fans have already tweeted their delight about the photos, with one follower declaring, “This is my new screen saver.” It’s clear that Mariah, whose American Idol judging debut will be seen this Wednesday and Thursday on FOX, will have a new makeup artist behind the scenes to help her look her best!

‘At the end of the day, mom took care of home,’ ‘Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta’ star Scrappy tells ‘RapFix Live.’ By Rob Markman, with reporting by Sway Calloway Lil Scrappy on “RapFix Live” Photo: One episode in, VH1’s “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” already has captivated audiences with its wild cast of characters. Perhaps the most magnetic of the bunch is Momma Dee, mother to rap star Lil Scrappy . Momma Dee comes off as overprotective and overbearing, but it is clear that there is nothing she wouldn’t do for her children, including selling drugs and pimping to make ends meet. When Lil Scrappy appeared on Wednesday’s “RapFix Live,” he opened up about the lengths his mother went to to provide for him. “Mom dukes was layin’ it down hard back in the day when I was coming up,” Lil Scrappy said. He recalled a time when a prostitute who was working for his mother left to join with a rival pimp. When Momma Dee finally met up with her ex-worker, violence ensued and a young Scrappy was there to witness it all. “My mama caught her slippin’ in traffic and bust her across the head with a crowbar,” he recalled. “That crowbar was stuck in her head and she was sittin’ there shakin’.” While the incident affected him at the time, the ATL rapper now awkwardly laughs it off. While Scrappy admits that he had to see some pretty awful things as a youngster, he doesn’t resent his mom for any of it. “I had to sleep in a room with mom dukes, and my little sister because all the whores was using the rooms to do their thing,” he said. “But at the end of the day, mom took care of home. Me and my sister ain’t never had to hurt for nothin’.” Related Videos ‘RapFix Live’ Gets Scrappy Related Artists Lil Scrappy

In ‘All Around the World’ NBC special, Bieber shares, ‘It’s important I never forget where I came from.’ By Jocelyn Vena Justin Bieber on his “All Around The World” special Photo: Last time on Justin Bieber ‘s primetime special, “All Around the World,” the singer’s camp worried about him after he fell down some stairs following a concussion he suffered running into a glass wall during his performance in Paris. Well, on part two of the NBC special, fans get to see just what happened next. “He’s got a nice little bump. Doctors said he should be OK,” his manager, Scooter Braun, shares. “It just scared me in general when he was nonresponsive. … In that moment, when he was not waking up, that was scary.” While Braun was concerned about the star’s wellbeing, later on, Bieber is shown being mostly concerned about whether you can see the bump he got in the process. After wrapping up his time in Paris, Bieber embarks on more dates in Italy and Spain, where he meets more screaming, crying fans. “The team is definitely like a family. There’s never a dull moment,” Bieber says of his tour crew. “Seeing fans is always the most important to me,” he later says of his devotees. “I wouldn’t be in this position without them. Sometimes it can get really chaotic … but I go out of my way.” In addition to traveling the globe with his tightknit road family, in Spain, Bieber is joined by his little sister and dad. “Just being able to come back at the end of the night and see my little sister, it’s amazing,” he shares. While he has folks like his crew and family to keep him grounded, the pandemonium he causes everywhere he goes never lets up. Mexico City is next on the schedule. “I miss home … but it’s all worth it. I get to do so many other things that I wouldn’t get to experience. It’s been really a blessing,” he says. “I have definitely changed over the last few years, and I think it’s for the good. I think that I’m getting more mature. But as far me as a person, I think I’ll always be the same person.” Later on, Bieber visits his hometown in Canada. While there, he performs on the same street corner where he used to play before he was famous, noting how “weird” it is to do his own song there rather than a cover. “For me, it’s important I never forget where I came from,” he says. His trip around the globe ends in the Big Apple, where he prepares for a number of appearances and shows, including his now-infamous performance at the Apollo Theater , which he finished unplugged after losing power. “I want to go someplace Michael [Jackson] performed,” he says in the lead-up to the performance. Instead of shutting it down, Bieber continued the show with a sing-along and a dance battle, much to the delight of his fans. “My fans, to me, mean the world. I’m very blessed, and I have all my Beliebers to thank for that,” he notes. “I never thought that I would be in the position that I am now. I think that it’s so important that if you have a dream to just believe.” While in New York City, he also appeared on his very own MTV special, “Bieber Live,” where he opened up about his just-released new album, Believe . Facebook co-founder celebrates two grand achievements by making his company public and marrying longtime girlfriend Priscilla Chan. By Natasha Chandel Priscilla Chan and Mark Zuckerberg Photo: Priscilla Chan/ Facebook Facebook co-founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg has had quite a week! Not only is he now worth a cool $19 billion after the Facebook IPO , but he also got hitched to long-time girlfriend, Dr. Priscilla Chan, in an intimate wedding on Saturday. Of course, the announcement became official when Zuckerberg changed his Facebook status to “married” and uploaded a wedding picture of the young couple. Facebook became a public company on Friday in the second largest IPO in financial history , with shares selling at $38 each. If that wasn’t enough pressure for a week, Zuckerberg took the big plunge when he swapped out his signature hoodie and jeans for a dark blue suit and tie for his surprise nuptials with Priscilla Chan, his girlfriend of nine years. The couple met at Harvard, when Zuckerberg was still developing his infamous social network, and have been an item ever since. Despite Zuckerberg’s rockstar status with fans and users alike, the technology mogul has led a significantly low-key life. His weekend ceremony included approximately 100 guests, including family and friends, none of whom had any idea they were attending a wedding. They were invited under the pretense of a graduation party for Chan, who also had an eventful week after graduating from medical school. Once everyone had gathered, it was announced the couple was finally tying the knot. According to reports, Zuckerberg designed a simple ruby ring for his lady love, who looked elegant and chic in a vintage-inspired lace gown. Guests dined on the couple’s favorite foods, including mouse-shaped chocolates — a treat the couple shared on their first date. Share your well-wishes for Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan in the comments!

Band’s Saturday-night set was lively and loose, capping a day that also saw spirited sets from Mac Miller and Skrillex. By James Montgomery Anthony Kiedis of the Red Hot Chili Peppers performs at the 2012 Hangout Music Festival Photo: Tim Mosenfelder/ Getty Images GULF SHORES, Alabama — Having been at this for more than two decades now, the Red Hot Chili Peppers clearly know how to headline a fest: play the hits, thank the crowd, occasionally swat at a beach ball, exit stage right. Maybe work a few well-placed curse words in there too. These things tend to be the same. So it’s a testament to both their versatility and their dedication that the Chili Peppers’ Saturday-night set at the Hangout Festival was anything but by the numbers, as the band jammed long and hard, stretching songs to the breaking point (and beyond), much to the delight of the raucous, sun-baked crowd. Perhaps it was because their headlining slot kicked off just minutes after seasoned jam-meisters the String Cheese Incident finished their two-and-a-half hour set (which, for them, was basically just a warm-up), or maybe they were taking their cues from Friday night’s headliner, Jack White , but from the minute the Peps strode on stage, they were playing fast and loose. Drummer Chad Smith, bassist Flea and guitarist Josh Klinghoffer started things off with a reverb-heavy psych jam that only morphed into “The Monarchy of Roses” when frontman Anthony Kiedis bounded on stage, then kept that momentum rolling into “Can’t Stop,” with the trio trading solos while Kiedis nodded in time to the beat. There were, of course, more straightforward moments too: the Peppers tore through a string of hits, including “Dani California,” “Under The Bridge” and “The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie,” and attacked songs like “Blood Sugar Sex Magik” and their version of “Higher Ground” with impassioned pounding. Flea was his usual non-sequitur self, spouting stuff like “Sweet Home Alabama, mother—-er!” and “Forgive your parents!” into the mic, and Kiedis was, as always, the warrior-shaman showman, posing and preening, always in motion (he and Flea also made the rather interesting decision to wear pants with one leg cut off above the knee). But there was a general, genial looseness throughout their two-hour set, showcasing Smith’s lock-step drumming, Flea’s precision playing and Klinghoffer’s wild, winding fretwork. At several points, they seemed to be making it up as they went along, gleefully turning a few stray notes into lengthy, twisting jams: Klinghoffer would summon a solo from his guitar, while Flea would flail and pound along, Smith and touring percussionist Mauro Refosco kicked off the band’s encore with a twisting back-and-forth exchange, and after blasting through “Give It Away,” the band closed their set with a lengthy, voluminous instrumental. The Peppers have always drawn from funk, and Flea’s dabblings in Jazz have paced them for nearly twenty years now, but on Saturday night, the improvisational nature of both were readily apparent. Rather than do the usual headlining set, the band wanted to just play. It seems to be a recurring theme of the Hangout fest … and it served as a perfect capper on a day that also saw lively and loose sets from the likes of Gogol Bordello, Mac Miller and Skrillex (who, in a bit of inspired scheduling, kicked off opposite Randy Newman). The Red Hot Chili Peppers breathed new life into time-tested favorites — “Suck My Kiss” was pounding and primal, “Californication” soared to new heights, “Soul to Squeeze” was sanguine and sweet — and appeared to have a blast whilst doing so. You can’t teach old dogs new tricks, but, if you bring them to the beach (and scheduled them after a jam band), well, you can certainly make them push things to the limit … with fantastic results. If this whole “world-famous rock band” thing doesn’t work out for RHCP, their Hangout set was proof that they’d make a killing on the jam circuit. Your move, String Cheese. A movie expert weighs in on why the teen dramedy was a box-office flop. By Jocelyn Vena Miley Cyrus in “LOL” Photo: Lionsgate Last Friday, Miley Cyrus’ soapy teen dramedy “LOL” opened to a limited release in nine states on Friday. The film, by all accounts, didn’t perform the way a film starring Cyrus, “Twilight” star Ashley Greene and one-time screen siren Demi Moore, might be expected to. “LOL,” an English-language adaptation of a French Film of the same name, grossed only $46,500 in 105 theaters. While it’s hard to tell why the film underperformed, it seems that a lack of marketing leading up to its debut may have played a role in that. The flick follows the story of a teen, Lola (played by Cyrus), as she faces the strife of first love in a world driven by technology. “It’s really hard to say because we’ve heard absolutely nothing about it. I think there was some buzz about this was sort of going to be a different type of breakout role for Miley. I’m not a fan of Miley, but I would actually like to see that and I think a lot of people would,” Brooke Tarnoff, a senior editor at Next Movie, told MTV News about the lackluster interest in the flick once it dropped. With so few eyes on the release leading up to May 4, it’s hard to tell if the performance had anything to do with Cyrus. Tarnoff added, “Maybe the selling power of Miley has diminished. I think her fanbase may be less loyal than it was in the ‘Hannah Montana’ days, but it’s all kind of moot.” The film had gotten some attention when Cyrus and Greene were spotted filming it back in 2010 . But, after shooting wrapped, little else was heard about the film until a trailer dropped in mid-April, three weeks before the limited release. “There’s obviously an audience for pretty much anything,” she continued. “And this one having a ‘Twilight’ star and Miley Cyrus, who still has some cache, it’s just [a missed opportunity].” Regardless of the film’s box-office performance, Cyrus seemed proud of it. She took to Twitter over the weekend and brushed off the low numbers. “Thank u so much for everyone who went to see LOL,” she wrote. “It is a film I loved making and I am proud of…. That’s really all that matters to me.” Thank u so much for everyone who went to see LOL. It is a film I loved making and I am proud of…. That’s really all that matters to me. ? — Miley Ray Cyrus (@MileyCyrus) May 7, 2012 Lisa Azuelos, who wrote and directed both versions, talked about the box-office response in an interview with the Los Angeles Times. “I really thought this movie could be universal,” she said. “Usually teen movies are tender or scary or have vampires in them, but they’re never realistic. This story isn’t too dirty and not too stupid.” Have you seen or do you plan on seeing “LOL”? Leave your comment below! Related Artists Miley Cyrus

MTV News’ ‘Idol’ experts share their choices for Jessica Sanchez, Joshua Ledet, Phillip Phillips and Hollie Cavanagh. By Gil Kaufman and James Montgomery Phillip Phillips, Hollie Cavanagh, Joshua Ledet and Jessica Sanchez on “American Idol” Photo: Michael Becker/ Fox For the most part, the themes on this season’s “American Idol” have been pretty straightforward: Queen, Whitney Houston, Personal Idols, Songs From the Year You Were Born, Songs From the 1980s, More Songs About Buildings and Food ( look it up ). But when the final four take the stage Wednesday night (May 9), they’ll be tasked with performing two songs in one of the most ambiguous, wide-open themes in the show’s history: California Dreamin’ (songs by Californians) and Songs I Wish I’d Written. Considering that the only singer left on the show who might reasonably write his own songs is Phillip Phillips (sample chorus: “Growwwwwl”) and that Joshua Ledet has proven time and again that he has a thin-at-best grasp on musical history, the second challenge is a big one. That leaves the California theme, which is equally amorphous since, well, half the hit songs of the past 50 years have been born on the Golden Coast. Maybe more. At least that leaves Adele out of the mix for once, not to mention Mariah and Whitney Houston — so, good luck, Jessica Sanchez and Hollie Cavanagh! Those and other conundrums have been placed in the very capable hands of MTV News’ resident “Idol” experts, Gil Kaufman and James Montgomery, who will once again post their secret ballots without peeking at the other’s picks (we swear) and let us know which songs the top four should tackle. Joshua Ledet He still hasn’t set off the charisma bomb that will turn him from a good singer with a bland personality into what the judges seem to think is one of the (allegedly) best “Idol” contestants of all time. We’re not expecting fireworks this week, but for his Cali song, he has to go with Detroit-to-L.A. transplant Marvin Gaye. Elise Testone already snagged “Let’s Get It On,” so I say hit up “Sexual Healing.” It’s hard to tell what genre Josh is most familiar with, but we’ll assume gospel or soul, in which case, let’s split the difference with preacher/shouter Al Green and go with “Love and Happiness” or Sam Cooke’s “A Change is Gonna Come.” — Kaufman I’d just like to go on record as saying it would be awesome if Joshua covered that “Californians” sketch from “SNL” a few weeks back, since it’d be way more interesting than anything we’re actually gonna hear tonight. That’ll never happen, of course, so for his Cali tune, I think he’ll swing for the fences and do a simmering version of Chris Isaak’s “Wicked Game.” We know he’s talented, but it’s time for him to take a chance if he wants to win this thing. As for the song he wished he wrote, I think he goes big. Though he might think he’s nasty, I say Josh does R. Kelly’s “I Believe I Can Fly.” Bonus points if he sings it in a cornfield . — Montgomery Jessica Sanchez It’s safe to say that Katy Perry’s un-showy “California Gurls” will turn up in a girl medley at some point Wednesday, which means Bebe would be wise to go with something like No Doubt’s “Don’t Speak.” What song does the stiletto Barbie wish she’d written? That’s a tough one. Like Josh, Jessica hasn’t given us much insight into her musical taste, but considering she’s a 16-year-old girl, her repertoire has got to be pretty contemporary — and sappy. “Innocent” by Taylor Swift it is, then. — Kaufman Given that she’s actually from California, a couple weeks ago, J.Sanch probably would’ve just killed two birds with one stone and done a pair of her originals tonight. But, given that her confidence has taken a hit in recent weeks, she’ll go back to basics: namely, singing the bejeezus out of a ballad. Her Cali pick? The great Etta James’ “At Last.” With that out of the way, she’s free to let Bebe Chez do her thing, so for the song she wished she’d written, why not something from Beyonc
