Getty Images REALLY??? Teacher Asks Students To List Positive Aspects Of Slavery A rancidly racist revisionist is in hot water after asking students to take on a shocking assignment. According to ABC News , reps for The Great Hearts Monte Vista schools are apologizing after an unnamed teacher gave out a homework assignment telling students to list both the positive and negative aspects of slavery. Aaron Kindel, the superintendent of Great Hearts Texas, is confirming that the teacher has been placed on administrative leave. “To be clear, there is no debate about slavery. It is immoral and a crime against humanity,” said Kindel in a statement posted Thursday. The textbook being used in the teacher’s classroom,”Prentice Hall Classics: A History of the United States” has been removed until school officials can review the material. Pearson, the makers of the textbook, are denying any wrongdoing. “We do not support the point of view represented in the worksheet and strongly condemn the implication that there was any positive aspect to slavery,” said their rep Scott Overland. News of the assignment quickly spread after Democratic Rep Joaquin Castro posted about it on social media. This is absolutely unacceptable. Just weeks after she revealed her aspirations to become a U.S. congresswoman, the actress has changed her mind. “After much prayer, introspection and discussions with my family, I am withdrawing my candidacy for California’s 44th Congressional District,” Stacey said in an email to CNN . The former Fox News commentator explained that she began her congressional bid with the best of intentions. “I started this run with the intention to address the pressing issues in the district where I live,” she added “I hoped, and remain hopeful, that I can assist people living here on the national level. My goal was, and remains, to improve the lives of people who have been forgotten for decades by the Democratic Party.” Stacy was running to represent an area of California that includes cities like Compton, Watts, San Pedro, and North Long Beach. These areas have always leaned democratic. They have a long history of voting in democratic in congressional elections (they’re currently represented by Nannette Barragán), and 83% of the population there voted for Hillary Clinton in 2016. However, Stacey has been a very vocal conservative republican, so we can’t imagine who would have voted for the Clueless star in California’s 44th district. It’s not exactly her base. Stacey said that she’s choosing to lay down her campaign to focus on her family. Stacey Dash , who hasn’t done anything productive in life since her role in Clueless , is withdrawing her congressional bid, a representative for the actress confirmed to CNN on Friday. “After much prayer, introspection and discussions with my family, I am withdrawing my candidacy for California’s 44th Congressional District,” she said in an email statement to CNN. The news comes only one month after the outspoken Republican filed paperwork to run. “I started this run with the intention to address the pressing issues in the district where I live. I hoped, and remain hopeful, that I can assist people living here on the national level. My goal was, and remains, to improve the lives of people who have been forgotten for decades by the Democratic Party.” Well, alrighty then, ma’am. Dash also added, “At this point, I believe that the overall bitterness surrounding our political process, participating in the rigors of campaigning, and holding elected office would be detrimental to the health and wellbeing of my family. I would never want to betray the personal and spiritual principles I believe in most: that my God and my family come first.” The district she was going to run for includes Compton, Watts, San Pedro and North Long Beach, which has long been represented by a Democrat–it overwhelmingly voted for Hillary Clinton in 2016, 83. Stacey says she pulled out of the race for the well being of her family but, for once, we have to thank her for withdrawing too. Even though she would have lost anyway, which would have been incredibly satisfying. Either way….byyyeeee bihhh!!

Cynthia Nixon has a message for Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall: You women keep doing your adorable little cat fight thing. I’m gonna go makeover an entire state, okay? Indeed, while the latter two ex-Sex and the City stars continue to bicker over their fake friendship , Nixon has set her sights on something a bit more pressing. The actress announced on Monday afternoon that she is running for Governor of New York. “I love New York, and today I’m announcing my candidacy for governor. Join us,” Nixon Tweeted alongside a two-minute video just a short while ago, adding via voiceover in this video: “New York is my home, I’ve never lived anywhere else. “When I grew up here, it was just my mom and me in a one-bedroom, fifth floor walk-up. “New York is where I was raised and where I’m raising my kids. I’m a proud public school graduate and a prouder public school parent.” Sounds like she has one item on her platform (education) already checked off. Sex and the City, of course, was filmed in The Big Apple. One television critic after another analyzed how the location itself was as much of a character on the HBO smash hit as Carrie, Miranda, Samantha and Charlotte themselves. Continues Nixon in her campaign footage: “I was given chances I just don’t see for most of New York’s kids today. “Our leaders are letting us down. We are now the most unequal state in the entire country, with both incredible wealth and extreme poverty. Half the kids in our upstate cities live below the poverty line. “How did we let this happen? I love New York. I’ve never wanted to live anywhere else, but something has to change.” Nixon will be challenging Governor Andrew Cuomo in a Democratic primary this fall If she wins the overall election, she’ll be the first openly gay woman to hold this position. Her entrance in the race guarantees that Cuomo (who has over $30 million his campaign account and who polls list as being far ahead) will face an intra-party challenge from his fairly far left. “We are sick of politicians who care more about headlines and power than they do about us,” Nixon says in her video. “It can’t just be business as usual anymore.” The Democratic primary will be held on September 13 and Nixon has already received encouragement from Rosie O’Donnell. “CYNTHIA NIXON FOR GOVERNOR OF NEW YORK!” Tweeted the comedian after Nixon made her announcement, adding: “#myFULLsupport – she is one of kind – brilliant – brave bold and so smart – a true leader #Nixon4NY.” Concluded Nixon, running down more issues on which she feels strongly: We want our government to work again, on health care, ending mass incarceration, fixing our broken subway. Italian Shooter Targeted Blacks, Injuring Six African Migrants Before Being Arrested

GUISEPPE BELLINI/AFP/Getty Images Italian Man Arrested For Shooting Six Africans In Macerata Six people were shot in an incident in the town of Macerata, Italy Saturday. Police say the incident was a racially motivated attack. At least one person was seriously injured and in need of surgery according to officers. According to EyeWitness News reports police arrested the suspected shooter, 28-year-old Luca Traini, who they say wore an Italian flag draped over his shoulders when he was captured by police. Witnesses on the scene say Traini made a fascist salute before being handcuffed. “He drove around in his car and when he saw any black people he shot them,” Marcello Mancini, a Macerata resident, told Reuters television. The shootings occurred just days after a Nigerian immigrant was arrested in connection with the death of an 18-year-old Italian woman whose body was dismembered and stuffed into two suitcases found near Macerata. Traini also fired shots at the offices of the Democratic Party in Macerata, but there were no injuries there. Police say Traini previously ran as a candidate for the rightist Northern League at local elections, but he didn’t receive any votes. The League backs anti-immigrant policies. League leader Matteo Salvini blamed mass immigration for tensions in the country but distanced himself from the shooting. “I can’t wait to get into government to restore security, social justice and serenity to Italy,” he told reporters. PD leader Matteo Renzi called for calm. “The man who fired the gun, hitting six people of colour, is a squalid, mad person. But the state is stronger than him,” he wrote on Facebook. Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni said Italy would come down heavily on anyone promoting violence. “We will stop this risk. We will stop it immediately. We will stop it together,” he said. “Hatred and violence will not be able to divide us. It’s so sad to see these issues all across the globe. Prayers up for those affected by this evil.
