United Airlines Earns Ire of Twitter for THIS Company Policy

WARNING : The following story is likely to make your blood boil. Shannon Watts – a mother of five from Colorado and founder of pro-gun control organization Moms Demand Action – shared on Twitter Sunday that young passengers getting on board a flight from Denver to Minneapolis were not allowed down the walkway unless they changed outfits. Two girls in particular, one of whom was 10 years old, were barred from boarding because they were wearing leggings. They had to actually cover up more and wait for the next flight to Minnesota. The incident has gone viral – with everyone from People Magazine to The New York Times picking it up – and United responded to Watts on Twitter by writing that they “have the right to refuse transport for passengers who are barefoot or not properly clothed.” As used in this context, that response has not sat well with many people on social media, including quite a few you've probably heard of… 1. The Opening Tweets This is how Watts alerted social media to the situation. 2. The United Response The airline checked and said the passengers in question appeared to be family members of employees and were therefore held to a high standard, per company bylaws. 3. Patricia Arquette‏ Responds @united Leggings are business attire for 10 year olds. Their business is being children. 4. And Chrissy Teigen I have flown united before with literally no pants on. Just a top as a dress. Next time I will wear only jeans and a scarf. 5. And Sarah Silverman Hey @united I fly a LOT. About to go on tour all April and changing all my @united flights to other airlines. 6. And Andy Richter .@united I have flown numerous times while displaying an egregious mooseknuckle. Lady Gaga descended from the rafters of NRG Stadium in Houston on Sunday night. Trump Secret Service Agent Says She’s Not Taking Any Bullets For The Cheeto-In-Charge

Trump Secret Service Agent Says She Won’t Defend The President Man…even Trump’s bodyguards are on some “not my president” mentality . One of President Trump’s secret service agents publicly declared that if anything pops off to threaten the new Commander in Chief…she pretty much plans to step back and let it occur, since she was here for Hillary anyway . According to TMZ , she was so bold in her claims that she went so far as to post it on FB: The senior agent from the Denver field office went on a Facebook rant that has since been deleted … confessing she was rooting for Hillary and would take jail over a bullet for the new POTUS. The agent wrote, “But this world has changed and I have changed. And I would take jail time over a bullet or an endorsement for what I believe to be disaster to this country and the strong and amazing women and minorities who reside here. Hatch Act be damned. I am with Her.” Secret Service agents aren’t even legally permitted to speak on their personal political beliefs publicly…so that jail time she spoke of might just be coming more quickly than she imagined. Damn, you know it’s bad when your own security hates you so much they refuse to keep you secure at all. AP/Getty

Rashaan Salaam Dies; Former Heisman Trophy Winner Was 42

Very sad news today out of the sports world: Rashaan Salaam, a former Heisman Trophy winner and star running back at the University of Colorado, was found dead in a park new Boulder. He was 42 years old. Salaam’s body was discovered in a parking lot at Eben G. Fine Park and a 911 was subsequently placed just before 9 p.m. on Monday, per Boulder Police spokesperson Shannon Cordingly. There were no signs of foul play. But a note was found on the scene and authorities told Salaam’s mother that they believe he committed suicide. The park is not even two miles away from Folsom Field, where Salaam starred for Colorado, winning the most prestigious trophy in college athletics in 1994. That year, he rushed for 2,055 and 24 touchdowns and also won the Walter Camp and Doak Walker awards. He was selected in the first round a year later by the Chicago Bears and would go on to become the youngest professional running back to gain at least 1,000 yards in a season. Following a number of injuries, however, Salaam was out of the NFL by 2004. “The Buff Family has lost an outstanding young man and a great Buff today,” Colorado athletic director Rick George said after learning of the news. “We are heartbroken for Rashaan and his family, and our thoughts and prayers are with them at this very difficult time.” Added the University football team on Twitter: “We’re minus one true Buffalo today.”  Several former NFL players also paid tribute to Salaam on social media. “I will miss my Heisman brother Rashaan Salaam. He was always smiling and just a lot of fun to be around! #RIP,” wrote another former Heisman winner, Matt Leinart. Ex-NFL star Chad Brown added: “Beyond saddened to hear the news about my @cubuffs teammate and friend Rashaan Salaam. We lost a true Buffalo today.” Denver Broncos director of player personnel Matt Russell was a teammate of Salaam’s and offered the following statement to ESPN: Rashaan was as dynamic off the field as he was on the field as a player. He was a fiercely loyal friend, someone who was always in your corner and had your back. He was the ultimate teammate and supportive of everyone in his locker room. If there was ever a guy who was going to get a personal foul for protecting someone on his team, Rashaan was that guy. Taylor Swift Attends Jury Duty, Shares Important Driving Advice

Taylor Swift is just like the rest of us.  How so? The singing sensation was summoned for jury duty in Nashville. When do you ever hear of celebrities doing jury duty? Granted, it's probably something they keep quiet to conceal details of the case.  This probably makes it super clear she did not ditch the MTV VMAs because of her arch nemesis, Kanye West.  As much as Kanye would like to take credit for the hit maker steering clear of the awards show, it was out of her control.  That's what happens when you get asked to do jury duty. Yes, Swift actually attended and gave all of the fellow jurors a huge shock in the process.  How would you feel if you walked in to do jury duty and the one of the biggest stars on the planet was waiting to do the same thing? The mind really boggles. Everyone was probably pretty star-struck at the shock of crossing paths with Swift.  Swift was happy to rise to the occasion and take selfies with the crowd.  It even resulted in a video with her doing shout outs to the family members of one of the jurors.  The video didn't stop there.  She also gave out road safety advice to the family members. It's all pretty bizarre, but great at the same time.  Alas, it wasn't all fun and games.  Swift was excused from her duties after learning the severity of the crime.  Ken Whitehouse, a spokesman for the Davidson County district attorney general’s office, said Swift couldn't take part due to her ongoing sexual assault lawsuit against David Mueller. “She asked to be left off out of concern for an upcoming trial in Denver where she was – she used the term – ‘groped’ by a fan at a meet-and-greet,” said Whitehouse. It makes sense for her to steer clear of the case given the circumstances.  Maybe she recruited some new members to her squad while she was there.  What do you think about all of this?  Hit the comments below!

The Joys Of Being Black: Watch Oklahoma Police Pepper Spray 84-Yr-Old Black Woman In Her Own Home [Video]

This is pathetic. If an 84-Yr-Old woman doesn’t comply to your commands…it is probably because of her age, jackass! Muskogeephoenix.com : An attorney representing Muskogee said the pepper-spraying of an 84-year-old woman was a reasonable use of force. Attorney Scott Wood said the breach of a home, electrical stunning of a suspect and pepper-spraying of the home’s resident, Geneva Smith, was reasonable “given the totality of the circumstances.” Muskogee police officers followed Arthur Paul Blackmon, 56, at about 2:45 a.m. Aug. 7, attempting to pull him over after he allegedly ran a stop sign at Elgin and South Junction streets. The two officers, Michelle Casady and Jared Forbes, followed Blackmon to the 2400 block of Denver Street, where Smith lives. City officials released late Friday the body and dash camera video — 20 files in all. The video shows Blackmon, ignoring the commands of officers, exit the vehicle he was driving and enter the residence. “It starts off as a traffic stop — that’s a low misdemeanor — but based on the other evidence gathered in those three minutes … it could be a severe crime. It could have been a home invasion,” Wood said. Wood, who was hired because of the potential for litigation, said the truck was not registered to Blackmon, nor was it registered to anyone at the Denver Street address. Officers, debating entry into the home, reportedly heard a male and a female shouting “call police” and “call 911.” Officer James Hamlin, who arrested Blackmon, later asked Blackmon about it, according to Hamlin’s body camera video. “That’s what we was telling you,” Blackmon told Hamlin. “We called 911. We were waiting on the police.” A police officer kicked in the door. An officer shot Blackmon with an electrical stun gun. While six other officers entered the residence, Smith was trying to figure out what was going on. Casady delivered approximately one second of pepper spray to Smith. “My mother’s 84 years old, mother f—–,” Blackmon said when Smith was pepper-sprayed, according to the video. Muskogee Police Chief Rex Eskridge said Smith failed to comply with officers’ orders and turned toward the kitchen. Smith actively resisted by ducking away from officers, Wood said. The police department’s use of force policy states that pepper spray, considered to be the lowest use of force, is to be used for passive resistance. Eskridge said that when Casady used the pepper spray, she “believed she was acting within policy in using” pepper spray to gain compliance. The matter was still under internal investigation as of Friday morning, Eskridge said. “There is nothing more serious than to breach a home without a proper search warrant,” Eskridge said. “We want to make sure that we were in compliance with, not just policy, but the law.” Muskogeephoenix.com

Ben Higgins to Marry Lauren Bushnell… REALLY SOON!

Some time in the near future, Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell are getting married . No, wait, the wedding between Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell has been called off ! Contrasting reports regarding the latest winner of The Bachelor and his chosen suitor have gone viral over the past few weeks, confusing fans desperate to see another successful relationship spring from this show. So, which is it? Are Ben and Lauren closer than ever to saying “I Do” or to saying “See Ya?” According to Us Weekly, it’s the former, as that magazine claims the famous tandem “will get married very soon, probably this summer. Yes, the tabloid adds, these nuptials would be televised as an “ABC special.” Higgins rejected new Bachelorette JoJo Fletcher toward the end of his featured season, proceeding to propose to Bushnell during the finale’s taping in Jamaica. They actually do seem like a very happy couple, but how often have you heard that about Bachelors and their fiancees before? Just prior to the relationship coming to a not-so-surprising end? View Slideshow: Lauren Bushnell: Ben Higgins’ Bachelor Bride-to-Be! Ever since his season concluded, though, Higgins and his 25-year old love have been “very happy,” a source tells Us Weekly, saying of Ben and Lauren : “They’re making it work a lot better than past people have done in their shoes,” adds the source. Why would they film their nuptials for a national audience? Money. No… wait. That isn’t it. “We want to share our life with everyone who’s been supportive,” says Bushnell, who recently moved into Higgins’ Denver home. “And that includes Bachelor Nation.” If this wedding special makes it to air, Ben and Lauren would become the fifth Bachelor couple to exchange vows in front of network cameras. Trista and Ryan Sutter started this trend in 2003 and were followed by: Jason Mesnick and Molly Malaney wed in 2010; Ashley Hebert and J.P. Rosenbaum in 2012; and Sean Lowe and Catherine Giudici in January 2014. View Slideshow: The Bachelor Stars Ranked By Relationship Length

The Bachelor Season 20 Episode 7 Recap: Who Made Ben Higgins’ Final Four?!

On The Bachelor Season 20 Episode 7, Ben Higgins’ journey officially reached the point where he selected his coveted final four. Who would earn those roses … or a plane ticket home? Watch The Bachelor Season 20 Episode 7 Online As always, if you wish to know who makes it to the season finale and wins Ben’s final final rose, read  The Bachelor spoilers  here. If you prefer to remain spoiler-free, let’s recap Monday! Picking up where last week left off,  The Bachelor Season 20 Episode 7  saw Higgins get down to business with his six remaining ladies. If you  watch The Bachelor online , you know that this is the first week without Olivia Caridi to play the villain. So what was the focal point? A trip to Ben’s hometown of Warsaw, Indiana. Unlike Chris Soules’ hometown of Arlington, Iowa, however … Ben actually lives in Denver now. But still, such a quaint place for a date. Lauren Bushnell and JoJo Fletcher, the obvious frontrunners, take up most of the screen time as the former tours the place Ben grew up. The latter, meanwhile, gets … empty Wrigley Field. JoJo even gets a Chicago Cubs jersey that says “Mrs. Higgins” on the back. “Mrs. Higgins… sooounds good…” JoJo, totally naturally. View Slideshow: The Bachelor Season 20: Meet the Ladies! The group date featured one rose and two boats: Ben and Caila pile into one while Becca and Amanda follow behind them from a distance. Sucks for them. Next, they fly kites apparently. Amanda ultimately gets the rose, Becca breaks down, Caila struggles with her own insecurities, and the tears start flowing all night long. Meanwhile, Ben tells us he wants to take Amanda to McDonald’s because “That’s a normal thing for me.” Yes, product placement alert! After that giant advertisement, they went to the fair (because small town Indiana) and generally seemed to hit it off in this swell place. Ben’s date with Emily, though? Wow. Just wow. Either the producers paid her to embarrass herself or they got lucky, because it’s hard to imagine a meet-the-parents date going worse. “I have so many dreams to accomplish,” Emily tells Ben’s mom, later explaining that said dreams entail becoming … an NFL cheerleader.  It got worse from there, if you can believe that. “I’m so average at everything in life,” she says, really selling herself. “I will be an above-average mom, and an above-average wife.” You don’t want to go in there and oversell yourself or pretend to be something you’re not, but probably not the best sales pitch in history. Ben’s parents were not exactly bowled over, and this week proved to be her last as she was sent packing while the other girls watched. That seemed a little cold, but hey, it’s reality TV. At the rose ceremony, Ben had four to give up and one Becca Tilley to eliminate, as the entire episode had been telegraphing throughout. Caila Quinn earned the last rose – in terms of the one that was the most up for grabs – while this is still Lauren’s game to lose honestly. JoJo has an outside shot, but nothing more. Still In This Thing & Headed to the Coveted Final Four : Lauren Bushnell, Caila Quinn, Amanda Stanton and JoJo Fletcher. Out : Becca Tilley and Emily Ferguson. Super Bowl 50: Hot Refs, Scary Monkeys and More!

Super Bowl 50 sucked. The Denver Broncos defeated the Carolina Panthers by compiling under 200 yards of total offense and converting one third downs all game. It was a sloppy, boring game that didn’t feature a touchdown from farther than two yards away. But there were at least a few things that saved the Super Bowl, as an event , from being a total letdown. And one of those things was  Clete Blakeman . The well-chiseled referee made a variety of calls on the field, but those were nothing compared to the phone calls going around from female viewer to another, each asking the same thing: Who is Clete Blakeman? And is he single?!? Speaking of hot men… MATT DAMON IS BACK AS JASON BOURNE! Sorry. But we’re a tad bit excited. And we think you will be, too, after seeing the Jason Bourne trailer that debuted during the big game: Jason Bourne Trailer Prior to kickoff, of course, Lady Gaga blew us away with a national anthem that actually had people comparing it to the iconic Whitney Houston version from 1991.
