Using Toys to Tell Great Stories (Videos)

Filed under: Humor , Videos , Art / Design Since YouTube came out, everyone wants to use their crappy camcorder to make the next Nightmare Before Christmas by using their old (or new) action figures ( dolls ). But, every once in a while, whether by accidental genius or pressure from the parents they’re clearly still living with, someone will put out a video worth watching. For instance, look what someone can do when they’re getting paid the big bucks by the developers of Halo . Pretty cool, right? Well, we compiled some of the better, funnier and more interesting videos that we found on our old friend — and current deity — YouTube. Check ’em out! 30 Awesome Pogs From Our Past (Photos)

Filed under: Humor , Photos , Gaming , Art / Design , Lists What are the beautiful, bite-sized discs known as Pogs? If you’re a 90s baby, you remember them as the awesome game which everyone was obsessed by throughout grade school . Thin, cardboard circles known as ” Pogs ” were stacked and hit with heavier, thicker plastic or metal “slammers” used to try and flip them over. Pogs landing face up would then be collected by the slam artist and sometimes not returned if the game was “for keeps.” A kid’s Pog collection was often filled with images, characters and titles from his or her favorite television show, movie, or comic book. The cooler Pogs were often laminated, engraved, or sometimes holographic. Slammers could also be embellished using metal, spiked edges or even insects suspended within them. The possibilities were endless. Pogs originated from a juice made from Passionfruit, Orange and Guava. The idea didn’t come from a huge business trying to sell children some new product — kids invented it all by themselves. Although the Pogs phase fizzled out with the 90s, we love to look back in nostalgia at what we used to be so passionate about as children. Here are 30 pictures of awesome Pogs from the past. ‘The Hills’ Stars Kristin Cavallari, Audrina Patridge Share Big Post-Show Plans

Lo Bosworth wants a talk show, while Stephanie Pratt will continue in fashion. By Jocelyn Vena Kristin Cavallari Photo: Christina Garibaldi/ MTV News The long-awaited final season of “The Hills” premiered at last on Tuesday night. Now, with only 11 episodes to go, many fans have been wondering what’s up next for the “Hills” cast. MTV News caught up with some of the stars, who said they won’t be stepping out of the spotlight anytime soon. “I’m transitioning to hosting, so I would love to host a style show, a travel show, a cooking show,” Lo Bosworth told MTV News . “Something like that next. … I think a long-term goal for me is to be on a talk show. I would love, love, love to do that. I have some off-camera projects that are going, but I can’t reveal them yet — but very soon. I am really excited for the next step.” Like Bosworth, co-star Kristin Cavallari is also looking to continue her career in television — but behind the lens. “Going back to ‘The Hills,’ I’ve enjoyed seeing the behind the scenes and how everything gets put together, the TV magic,” she said. “So I want to start producing. I’ve been pitching some shows and talking to some people about that. So, hopefully, right away I can get one of those running, and then I want to keep acting. I would like that. I like being in charge and calling the shots.” Although there’s been talk that Audrina Patridge may land her own reality show, she said that a break was foremost on her mind. “I plan on taking a vacation,” she said. “I really want to go to Europe and just travel and hang out with my friends and family down in Orange County. But other than that, I’m still going to castings and still going to auditions for acting, definitely going to continue pushing for that. I would love to do a time piece, like, medieval. I love ‘The Tudors’ and I love ‘Troy’ and those types of movies. So, that’s my dream.” With her castmates eyeing the film and television worlds, Stephanie Pratt said she’ll focus on fashion . While on the show, Pratt enrolled at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising. “My original goal before ‘The Hills’ was a career in fashion,” she said. “I’m designing handbags right now with a partner, and other leather accessories.” What would you like to see “The Hills” stars do next? Let us know in the comments! “The Hills: Final Season” airs at 10 p.m. ET/PT every Tuesday followed by “The City” at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT on MTV.
