Beyonce’s Mrs. Carter Show Top Grossing Tour The Beyhive spent rent money to see King Bey. According to Billboard: Beyoncé heads up Billboard’s weekly slate of top-grossing tours with sales reported from the final leg of her Mrs. Carter Show world tour that wrapped at the end of March. The pop diva was on the road for the bulk of 2013, performing in 23 countries on four continents through the end of the year. The final 2014 leg of the tour kicked off in Scotland on Feb. 20, marking her third jaunt through Europe since last year’s mid-April launch. This last string of shows began in the U.K., but dates followed in Ireland, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium and Spain before wrapping in Portugal on March 27. Multiple performances at arenas in London and Dublin were reported during a previous week, so after adding revenue from those markets to the $24.1 million included in this tally, her final European leg grossed more than $41.1 million from 25 sold out shows. The Mrs. Carter Show ended its yearlong run with overall revenue totaling $212 million from more than 1.8 million sold tickets at 126 concerts. Charges Dropped Against White Police Officer Who Killed Unarmed Black Teen The charges against a former Arkansas police officer who gunned down a 15-year-old boy in August of 2012 using the defense that he thought the teen was attempting to run into him with his vehicle have now been dropped and the family of the young man who lost his life is now left still searching for justice. via Arkansas Online A judge has dropped charges against a former Little Rock police officer whose manslaughter trial in the fatal shooting of a teenager while on duty in 2012 twice resulted in deadlocked juries. Josh Hastings returned to court Monday morning for a hearing before a third trial that had been scheduled to begin next month. But at the proceeding before Pulaski County Circuit Judge Wendell Griffen, prosecutors requested dropping the charges instead of going to trial. Chief Deputy Prosecuting Attorney John Johnson noted the facts were largely undisputed but that the two mistrials brought to light that “this is a unique case where there can be no unanimity of the jury.” “We believe that he should have been found guilty,” Johnson said while acknowledging he now believes getting that verdict would be impossible. “Not just difficult. We have no good-faith basis we would ever get a jury to unanimously convict.” The dismissal does allow the charges to be refiled, though Hastings’ defense attorney said afterward that it’s hard to imagine that would occur. Johnson noted the family of 15-year-old Bobby Moore, whom Hastings fatally shot, objected to the decision to dismiss charges. Deazzaray Perkins, Moore’s older sister, blasted prosecutors for dropping the charges “when they know this man was in the wrong.” “He killed a 15-year-old child,” she said in an impassioned statement to reporters by the front steps of the courthouse. “They think we’re supposed to be OK with it? I’m not … That was my baby brother. It’s been three years. Hastings on Aug. 12, 2012, shot Moore while investigating a report of vehicle break-ins at the Shadow Lake apartment complex in Little Rock. Hastings says he opened fire while Moore drove a vehicle toward him, but prosecutors in the first two trials contended that the vehicle was not moving toward Hastings and that he acted recklessly in opening fire. Hastings was fired from the force after police investigated the shooting. His attorney, Bill James, said Hastings will seek to get his job back. This shooting took place only 6 months after acquitted child-murderer George Zimmerman gunned down unarmed teen Trayvon Martin and sadly, both cases have seen the same outcome. What will it take for these men and other like them to be held accountable for their reckless actions???

I used to work for him, back in 2000 when I coached for the Clippers for three months. He was congenial, even inviting me to his daughter’s wedding. Nothing happened or was said to indicate he suffered from IPMS (Irritable Plantation Master Syndrome). 2006: U.S. Dept. of Justice sued Sterling for housing discrimination. Allegedly, he said, “Black tenants smell and attract vermin.” 2009: He reportedly paid $2.73 million in a Justice Dept. suit alleging he discriminated against blacks, Hispanics, and families with children in his rentals. (He also had to pay an additional nearly $5 million in attorneys fees and costs due to his counsel’s “sometimes outrageous conduct.”) 2009: Clippers executive (and one of the greatest NBA players in history) sued for employment discrimination based on age and race. SMH. He had a sweet tooth that bad? Man Arrested For Stealing Doughnut You know times are hard when you can’t even afford a doughnut. According to NY Daily News: A Florida man was arrested and charged with two misdemeanors and a felony after allegedly fleeing a Walmart with a single stolen doughnut. William Edward Hicks, 36, of Fort Walton Beach, was nabbed by an Okaloosa County Sheriff’s deputy after making the sticky-fingered sugar run earlier this month, according to an arrest report. The store’s loss prevention officers reported seeing Hicks take the pastry out of a case before wandering back to the sporting goods section. There they said he opened a laser sight package before putting it back on the shelf, but “not the the doughnut,” according to the arrest report. “Hicks then departed the store through the Garden Department, passing all points of sale with the doughnut.” He was reportedly confronted in the parking lot by the store’s security but defied their orders to go back inside and instead made a run for it. Hicks was shortly after arrested in a neighboring parking lot before a deputy reported him struggling in his backseat, so much so that he injured his forehead while banging his head against the backseat’s wire cage. He was charged with resisting an officer in the recovery of a stolen item, along with resisting without violence. The idot risked his freedom over a doughnut. Lawd help him. Shutterstock

Have Rihanna’s slick talking ways have finally caught up to her? Rihanna Sued For Defamation By Former Bodyguard Time to pay up. According to TMZ: Rihanna is known to talk her fair share of smack, but a former bodyguard claims she went over the line and is now suing the singer for defamation … TMZ has learned. Geoffrey Keating filed a lawsuit today in Ireland, where his attorney was also granted a motion to serve Rihanna with the suit in the U.S. Keating claims Rihanna made “nauseatingly offensive” and false statements about him in an email to him and his partner last July. He also claims the offensive statements were made in a phone call to his sister. Keating served as head of security for Rihanna while she was on tour between October 2012 and July 2013. He claims the remarks have gravely injured his reputation and his business. Keating’s attorney, Gerald Kean, tells TMZ, “We’re taking this battle very seriously. We are satisfied that the Irish Courts will see justice at the end of the day.” If these allegations hold up in court, Rih just might have to drop a couple stacks to get this resloved. Only in Florida. Man Arrested For Lewd Acts Behind The Wheel Guess since he couldn’t text and drive he had to find something to do with his hands. According to NY Daily News: Cory Evans, 22, was charged with indecent exposure after police said he masturbated while driving and harassed a trucker on a Florida interstate, TCPalm.com reports. The Boca Raton man was arrested around 1 a.m. on April 14. Florida Highway Patrol officers got a call from a semi-truck driver who claimed a nekked motorist was following him and masturbating. The two were traveling down a stretch of I-95 in Port St. Lucie. According to the police report, the truck driver told police Evans, nekked in a Buick, “seemed to be enticing him and harassing him.” The trucker also noted that Evans was “masturbating with the interior dome light on so he could be easily seen.” When officers pulled Evans over, he was clothed, but his pants were unzipped. Troopers said he denied masturbating and driving nekked but also gave conflicting answers to their questions. Evans was taken to a local jail where he was booked on indecent exposure charges. SMH. When a rich racist wants ya… Donald Sterling’s Wife Says Black Girlfriend Is Just A Gold Digger Donald Sterling’s wife of more than 50 years describes his alleged mistress as a gold digger who seduces older, wealthy men and persuades them to shower her with gifts, according to a lawsuit filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court on March 7. Via LA Times reports: The Clippers team owner and a woman identified as V. Stiviano allegedly began an affair after meeting at the 2010 Super Bowl game and were still in the relationship as of the filing date, according to the lawsuit filed by Rochelle H. Sterling, who is described in the suit as “a married woman seeking to protect and recover community property in her individual capacity.” Rochelle Sterling alleges that her husband used community property to buy Stiviano a 2012 Ferrari, two Bentleys and a 2013 Range Rover, worth a total of more than $500,0000. Sterling also allegedly gave Stiviano $1.8 million to buy a duplex on West 4th Street near the Beverly Center last December, according to the suit, which claims that Sterling additionally provided her with $240,000 for upkeep and living expenses. The property was supposed to be held in the Sterlings’ name, Rochelle Sterling contends, but Stiviano has title and has refused to relinquish it. Arguing that the gifts were all allegedly made without Rochelle Sterling’s knowledge or consent, the complaint seeks their return along with compensatory damages. The suit, which includes as defendants unnamed agents and employees of Stiviano, alleges that before the complaint was filed, Donald Sterling asked her to return the property. The complaint also says that Stiviano goes by several other names, including Vanessa Maria Perez, Monica Gallegos and Maria Valdez.
