President Obama Meets Man With Horse Head Mask Via HuffPo reports: President Barack Obama had an up-close encounter with Denver’s marijuana subculture during a stop in the city on Tuesday night. In a video posted on Instagram, a man in the crowd can be heard asking the president, “Do you want a hit of this?” Obama doesn’t reply, but laughs off the request. The person who posted the video, who goes by the username manton89, wrote: “Asked him if he wanted a hit of pot…he laughed! #legalizeit #iinhaled #mrGQ” He also posted a photo of the president with a pool cue. He doesn’t say where he took the photos, but it appears to be the Wynkoop Brewing Company, where Obama and Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper had a brew and shot some pool. These two young men just threw their life away … 2 University Of Miami Players Suspended And Arrested After Admittance Of Teen Rape Via NYDailyNews Two University of Miami football players have been kicked off the team after they admitted to raping a 17-year-old in a dorm room, Florida police said. Alex Figueroa, 19, and JaWand Blue, 20, were arrested Tuesday on sexual battery charges for the Saturday attack, CBS Miami reported. The two men were both linebackers for UM. Figueroa and Blue told police that they bought alcohol for the victim on Saturday night and then took her to Figueroa’s dorm room on the Miami campus. That’s where they performed sexual acts on her without her consent, they told police. According to the arrest report, the victim had been drugged before the attack and was incapable of resisting. UM’s Director of Athletics Blake James said in a statement that both men had been removed from the school’s football team. They have been suspended from the university, too. “Any allegation of a sexual assault is extremely serious, and the University will not tolerate conduct that threatens the sanctity and safety of our students and our campus,” he wrote. “We hold all of our students — especially student athletes — to the highest standards of moral conduct.” If you play football for University of Miami then you should have access to all the willing and consensual sex you want. The teen was also given a BIG gift for the occasion from the President and First Lady; a car! The Daily Mail reports: First daughter Malia Obama received a brand new car for her sweet 16 birthday on Friday, according to sources close to the first family, but unfortunately for her she won’t be able to drive it alone for at least another year. Drivers in the District received fair warning in February that Malia may soon be behind the wheel of a car – from her mother no less. ‘Ladies and gentlemen in DC, watch out!’ first lady Michelle Obama joked at the time. ‘Malia Obama on the road – kinda frightening.’ Details of the make, model and color weren’t immediately available, or even how she spent the day, which happens to coincide with the date the US celebrates its independence. President Barack Obama has striven to keep his family out of the spotlight, and staffers have remained mum about any planned festivities. We do know that rapper Pitbull performed on the South Lawn of the executive mansion, though it wasn’t clear if that was for Malia or just part of the White House’s 4th of July celebrations. In any case, Malia may now have her own wheels but driving on her own is out of the question – let alone without her Secret Service escort. Washington requires teens to be at least 17 to drive a car without an adult present, and that’s only after holding a provisional license for six months, according to the Daily Caller. At 16, she can acquire a learner’s permit, but an adult must be in the front seat at all times, and she can only be on the road from 6am to 9pm Sunday through Thursday and 6am to 11:50pm on Fridays and Saturdays. Be an American… Don Lemon Tells Minorities Just To Be An American This Independence Day Via Mediaite reports: Inspired by the unity he saw on display this week surrounding the World Cup, CNN’s Don Lemon decided to use his regular radio appearance on The Tom Joyner Morning Show to deliver an Independence Day challenge to Americans of all races and ethnicities. Despite Team USA’s loss on Tuesday, Lemon said they “taught us about what it means to be an American, to be a real patriot.” He said, “what they did as a disparate team of brothers unwittingly inspired Americans to come together to actually socialize with each other, in person and not on some electronic device.” As we demonstrated during last week’s game against Germany, CNN’s newsroom was one of many that seemed to stop what they were doing to come together and watch the matches. “They forgot about their cellphones and computers and most of all their perceived stations in life and were looking each other in the eyes and communicating without pretense and a keyboard,” he said of his colleagues. The display showed Lemon that Americans “aren’t as divided as we think we are,” adding, “More often than not we think of ourselves as black, white, Asian and Hispanic when the real America is so much more than that.” “Think about just how much we’d get accomplished if we collectively viewed the people with whom we came into contact as just an American and not an American with a prefix,” he said. “If we did it for something arguably as trivial as a sporting event, surely we can do it for something as important as democracy — just as our founders did 238 years ago this week. Jaya transformed into Jay and now how her mother reality star Andrea Kelly is opening up about her son: Via VH1 reports: All I can say about Jay is he makes it so easy to be a proud mom. For parents, we need to realize, [our kids] have their own journey. Parents get it wrong when they don’t support their children. They have to go out and fight every day and face this world. The first battle should not be at home. I think that a lot of children in the LGBT community don’t succeed because the one thing they need the most is foundation. I just tell Jay all the time, baby you won the war. You’re gonna have a lot of battles but you won the war. Mama accepts and loves you for who you are. Your family does. My dad is a retired military naval officer and all he said was, “I’m gonna mess up sometimes and [use the feminine pronoun] ‘she’ but I’m gonna eventually get the ‘he’ thing. Just give grandpa some time. I’m gonna get it dude.” That was it. It’s pretty remarkable for a 14-year-old to be so open publicly. I mean that takes some courage. It’s like Jay; you don’t understand that you’re changing people’s lives just by being courageous. The kid is so courageous. She has…and see, there I go [using the wrong pronoun]. It’s a learning experience. It really is. It’s something we smile about. When I make that mistake I’m like, “Girl, you got a son, honey, get it together. Get it right.” [Laughs] Being R.Kelly and your child, there has been a lot of attention surrounding Jay coming out as trans. Was that surprising to your family? You know it took a minute for that to click in my head. Then I have to stop and come back and say, in the urban community this is like a first. [For my family] this isn’t this shocking thing. This is so sad … Dallas Man Murders High School Basketball Star Over Video Game Via The Grio reports: Jonathan Tramaine Turner, 19, was indicted Monday by a Dallas County grand jury in connection with the fatal beating of 18-year-old high school basketball star Troy Causey. The fight between the teens started over a video game, reports NBC Dallas-Fort Worth. “There’s a pain that feels like someone is drilling a hole in your stomach,” Causey’s mother Tammy Simpson told NBC after she found out Turner would only face manslaughter in lieu of a murder charge. “When they said that I just sank.” Turner and Causey lived together at the time of the altercation. According to authorities, Turner claims to have hit Causey, causing him to fall to the ground and hit his head. Police determined that account was not consistent with the results from the Dallas County Medical Examiner, Dr. Ventura, M.D., who stated, “this kind of skull fracture could not have been caused by the complainant striking the ground.” Causey’s mother believes there are more people, those who were present during the fight, who are also responsible for her son’s death. Whatever that was it was about more than a video game. The game was probably just the trigger. Rest in peace to this young man!
