Do homosexual black men have an advantage over straight black men? Black Gay Men’s Salaries Are Equal To Straight White Men Some have called the tension between different historically oppressed groups the “suffering Olympics,” as each group—from women to gay Americans to black Americans—believes they’ve had it worse. But new data raises a surprising question: Among black men, is it easier to be a dual minority—to be both black and gay? Via The Root reports: Conventional wisdom has been that no one has it tougher than racial minorities who are gay. One study found (pdf) that gay black teens are more likely to be homeless than gay teens from other racial groups. Other studies show that black men face a disadvantage in hiring. A notorious 2003 study (pdf) found that white men with a criminal record were more likely to be hired than black men without one. All of which make results of new research published by Princeton sociologist David Pedulla so surprising. He conducted a résumé test among hundreds of employers, supplying some résumés with names more likely to be stereotyped as those of white applicants, and others with names more likely to be identified as those of black applicants. On some résumés, Pedulla indicated that the applicant had participated in a Gay Student Advisory Council. Among all the fictional applicants, the one with the name that sounded like a black male (Darnell) who participated in the Gay Student Advisory Council was more likely to be considered for the same starting salary as that of a heterosexual white male. Those presumed to be white and gay and those presumed to be black and heterosexual were considered for lower salaries. So what does it all mean? Well, for starters, it means that our country has evolved. But also that it hasn’t, in many ways. It’s great to know that gay black men have found a place of acceptance in the world, particularly in the working world—something that would have been hard to imagine a generation ago. But the potential underlying reason they may have found that place is troubling nonetheless. Pedulla says, “There is some evidence that gay black men are perceived as less threatening than straight black men and that this difference accounts for a piece of the salary-recommendation difference between these two groups.” I didn’t need to read that sentence to see that coming. Fear of the sexual power and prowess of black men has been at the root of the most horrifying acts of racial violence against black Americans, from the lynching epidemic of the early 20th century to the torture of young Emmett Till for supposedly flirting with a white woman in 1955. In previous interviews with The Root, Mark Potok, one of the country’s leading experts on hate groups, described an unhealthy obsession among many hate-group leaders with interracial sex, specifically the idea of black men “defiling” white women. . Apparently fans of the couple weren’t the only ones surprised to see Calvin’s post, as Rita reportedly wasn’t aware they had officially split. “It was Calvin’s decision to end the relationship. They had been arguing for months and had grown apart,” a source told British newspaper The Sun. “Rita was left embarrassed when he tweeted that it was all over. “She didn’t think he was going to make the announcement, so she was shocked.” Rita, 23, has been linked to both Justin Bieber and his friend, American singer Khalil, recently. Man Pees On Man’s Lawn Then Shoots Him For Complaining Via NY Daily News : A Florida man caught urinating on a man’s lawn allegedly pulled a gun on the homeowner and shot him when he complained. Giberto Martinez, 28, was taken into custody Thursday, nearly three months after police say he shot Jose Diaz Martinez multiple times outside his Miami home. Martinez, who NBC Miami reports is not related to his alleged victim, is now facing an attempted second-degree murder charge for that March 9 shooting. According to police, Martinez was confronted by the homeowner for urinating on the sidewalk and was told to stop and leave. Instead an argument ensued and Martinez brandished a firearm and shot at the victim several times. “The victim was struck and collapsed in front of his home,” police said in a release. Martinez managed to get away, leading to an active search for the suspect. He was being held on $50,000 bond on Friday. You can’t be serious!

White Mandela Writer Blames 12 Years A Slave For Stealing Acclaim Steve McQueen’s film “12 Years a Slave” not only received incredible praise from moviegoers and film gurus, it also snagged an Academy Award for Best Picture. But not everyone was happy about the film’s success. Via HuffPo reports: William Nicholson, screenwriter for “Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom,” spoke out against the movie complaining that McQueen’s film stole his thunder. Talk about being a sore loser. Nicholson discussed the flick this weekend at the Hay Festival in Wales attempting to explain why the movie chronicling the story of Solomon Northup is the reason his biopic “didn’t get the kind of acclaim that I wanted.” “I’m incredibly proud of this film. Unfortunately it didn’t get the kind of acclaim that I wanted,” he told the Daily Telegraph. “It didn’t get Oscars. ’12 Years a Slave’ came out in America and that sucked up all the guilt about black people that was available.” Nicholson continued to stick his foot in his mouth, ultimately ignoring the fact that although the black American struggle with slavery and the South African fight against apartheid are similar, they are two completely different things — although apparently in his opinion, people are incapable of having too much sympathy for both at the same time. “They [the audience] were so exhausted feeling guilty about slavery that I don’t think there was much left over to be nice about our film. So our film didn’t do as well as we’d hoped, which was a bit heart-breaking,” he said. “I really thought it was going to win lots of awards, partly because it’s a good story but also because I thought I’d done a really good job and the director had done a really good job. So it has been very tough for me. Some things work and some things don’t. You just have to soldier on.” He also said he felt Mandela’s death had a negative affect on the film’s success. “Mandela died as I was in the royal premiere with Will and Kate. Suddenly the word came through that he died. We were deluged with Mandela stuff and after a week we all thought, please, take it away, we’ve heard enough about Mandela,” he said. And let’s not forget the fact that he thought the anti-apartheid icon was boring. “All but one of the speeches were made up by me because his own speeches are so boring. I know it sounds outrageous to say a thing like that, but when he came out of prison he made a speech and, God, you fell asleep,” he said. Nicholson’s film was one among a jam-packed class of award contenders including “Gravity,” “Dallas Buyers Club,” “Wolf of Wall Street,” “American Hustle,” and “August: Osage County,” not to mention a slew of talented actors and actresses including Leonardo DiCaprio, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Jared Leto, Julia Roberts and Meryl Streep. Although it broke box office records in South Africa, the film only raked in $100,306 during its debut weekend in the U.S. Maybe, just maybe, his film didn’t get any awards because it sucked. And maybe, just maybe, it sucked because he was absolutely the worst person in the world to write the film. This azzhole is mad because he thinks ’12 Years A Slave’ took all HIS awards… GTFOH!!!!!!

Well sure enough…a second non-white mistress and former employee has popped out of the woodwork alleging that Donald Sterling is a verbally abusive bigot who tried to white-wash her, berate her biracial children, and use her for sexual excitement when he was bored with “ Stiviano’s V ” …and she wants a little dough for her trouble. She didn’t seem to have much of an issue with it while she was still on the payroll though… Via TMZ : A former employee of Donald Sterling claims the Clippers owner fired her after she rejected “a stream of racist and sexist taunts.” — this according to a new lawsuit obtained by TMZ Sports. Maiko Maya King claims in her new lawsuit — she was in a romantic relationship with Sterling between 2005 and 2011. King claims during their relationship Sterling made comments about her former African-American husband, asking her “How could you be married to a black man?” King says she had kids with her ex and Sterling asked, “Why would you bring black people into the world?” King goes on, saying Sterling told her, “I want to take you out of the black world and put you into the white world.” And she says, when they would fight he would tell her, “move back to the ghetto with a black man.” King — who is repped by Gloria Allred — claims 2 years after they broke up she began working for Sterling as his personal assistant and caretaker … which is weird because this overlaps into the V. Stiviano relationship. King claims during her employment Sterling said he was bored sexually with V and offered King bonuses if she could help him sexually. She says he insisted she tell him stories about past sexual conquests in order to arouse him. She also claims he said things like, “Black people do not take care of their children. All they do is sit at home and smoke dope.” And she claims he said, “Mexicans just do drive-by shootings.” There are lots of other details and allegations. She says when she complained he fired her.
