Rihanna: Topless and Wet for Esquire UK!

It’s not like nude photos of Rihanna are anything new, but we’re fully appreciative every time she decides to strip down for the camera. For example, here we have RiRi topless and soaked for the UK Esquire: Who’s gonna look at these and say, “Meh, seen it before?” If anything, we should closely study Rih’s naked photos, but not for the reasons you might think: Rihanna was hacked and had explicit photos stolen from her phone and computer just like hundreds of other female celebs during the creepy event that’s since been dubbed The Fappening . Prior to that Rihanna had nude photos banned from Instagram  and she re-posted them to Twitter in protest of the site’s weird “no nipple” policy. It’s important to note the difference between these two events. It’s similar to the difference between you giving money to charity and someone robbing you at gunpoint. So maybe when Rihanna gets naked, she’s not just doing it for the sake of boosting her career and titillating some male fans. Or maybe she is. Either way she’s sending an important message about a woman’s right to privacy in the digital age! Yes, Rihanna stands for freedom, and equality, but perhaps most importantly…boobies. God bless America. 37 Ridiculously Racy Rihanna Photos 1. Rihanna, Instagram Photos Rihanna poses with Instagram photos. In Complex!

For Your Information: Shady Ferguson Cops Wearing Body Cameras Now “To Catch Protesters Taunting Police”

Now we can see how these muhfuggas REALLY get down Ferguson Police Now Wear Body Cameras Via FOXNews Police officers in Ferguson, Mo., which became a flashpoint for protests following the fatal shooting of a black teenager by a white police officer just over three weeks ago, have begun using body cameras. Ferguson Police Chief Tom Jackson told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that approximately 50 cameras were donated by two companies, Safety Visions and Digital Ally, last week. Officers had the devices on during a protest march Saturday and captured what Jackson said were high-quality images of demonstrators taunting police. Jackson said that the cameras were being assigned to the city’s police squads and each officer would get one to use. Representatives from the two companies had visited the police department earlier Saturday to train officers on how to use the cameras. “They are really enjoying them,” Jackson said. “They are trying to get used to using them.” Support for officers wearing outward-facing cameras has increased since the August 9 shooting death of 18-year-old Michael Brown by Ferguson Police Officer Darren Wilson. Last week, Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-Mo., suggested that police departments should require officers to wear body cameras in order to receive federal funding. McCaskill, like other supporters of the cameras, said that footage could help determine whether an officer was being wrongfully accused of misconduct by a civilian. “Everywhere I go people now have cameras,” McCaskill said. “And police officers are now at a disadvantage, because someone can tape the last part of an encounter and not tape the first part of the encounter. And it gives the impression that the police officer has overreacted when they haven’t.” SMFH. Best believe we want to see everything these pigs do as much as they want to catch black people “taunting” them.

In White Folks News: Alex Trebek Raps Biggie, Digital Underground, And More Live On Jeopardy! [Video]

#Tanning Alex Trebek Raps Live On Jeopardy Via HuffingtonPost Alex Trebek just proved he’s got serious flow. The “Jeopardy!” host, who’s known for a sophisticated — do we dare say stuffy — style of schooling contestants, loosened up a bit on last night’s show. And Trebek can drop some sick beats. On Tuesday night’s episode, “The 1990s Rap Song” category had Trebek spitting lines from some of the most well-known hip-hop anthems of the decade. From a Notorious B.I.G track to Digital Underground’s “The Humpty Dance,” Trebek recited rap poetry for the lucky audience members and it was sweet music to our ears. Rap that funky music, white boy. Digital Discrimination: Harvard Study Shows Black Hosts Get Less Gwap Off Airbnb Than Non-Blacks!!!

This is discouraging. A new Harvard study shows there is some discrimination going on in the digital space , specifically on Airbnb, where black hosts have to charge less than non-blacks for comparable rentals. Via Valleywag reports : If you rent a room on Airbnb, odds are you know what your host looks like—their picture is featured front and center. A new report out of Harvard Business School crunched the data, and says this is totally fine, as long as you’re not black. The study, titled “Digital Discrimination: The Case of Airbnb.com ,” puts forth a pretty bleak premise. If you take two rental spaces, of the same general quality and in the same general area, the one owned by a non-black host will cost 12 percent more, on average: We find that non-black hosts are able to charge approximately 12% more than black hosts, holding location, rental characteristics, and quality constant. Moreover, black hosts receive a larger price penalty for having a poor location score relative to non-black hosts. These differences highlight the risk of discrimination in online marketplaces, suggesting an important unintended consequence of a seemingly-routine mechanism for building trust. It’s hard to pin down exactly, but the educated presumption is that black Airbnb hosts have to lower their prices in order to compete with non-black Airbnb users, simply because Airbnb users would prefer to not rent from a black host. The study doubts Airbnb is subject to any illegal discrimination liability, because otherwise it wouldn’t show all those black and white faces so prominently. In a statement to Recode , Airbnb, of course, dismisses the study: “ We are committed to making Airbnb the most open, trusted, diverse, transparent community in the world and our Terms of Service prohibit content that discriminates. The data in this report is nearly two years old and is from only one of the more than 35,000 cities where Airbnb hosts welcome guests into their homes. Additionally, the authors made a number of subjective or inaccurate determinations when compiling their findings.” Of course, this wouldn’t be a case of Airbnb employing discriminatory policies, or encouraging discrimination—at worst, they’re just facilitating it as a middleman. But it’s a reminder that the “sharing economy” isn’t a fist-bump feel-good utopia, as advertised—we share all our dirty prejudices, too. Guess there really is racism everywhere. Do you think the Harvard folks should widen their scope and use more updated data in order to test their theory?

A Lil Positivity: Google Doodle Honors “Their Eyes Were Watching God ” Author Zora Neale Hurston

Google pays tribute to celebrated author Zora Neale Hurston. Google Honors Iconic Author Zora Neale Hurston Bout time Google showed Ms. Hurston some respect. According to NY Daily News: Their eyes were watching Google. Google’s daily Doodle, the digital image that greets billions of visitors to the site each day, honored Harlem Renaissance author Zora Neale Hurston yesterday on what would have been her 123rd birthday. Decked out in a olive green feathered cap and framed by an idyllic Everglades scene, the author’s visage rested on Google’s home page throughout the day. Sophia Foster-Dimino, the San Francisco-based artist behind the Google Doodle, said she was inspired by the author’s legacy. “She brought an incredible wealth of witty, heartfelt prose to our literary history,” said Foster-Dimino. “We’re overjoyed to celebrate her life and accomplishments today.” Hurston, best known for her seminal novel, “Their Eyes Were Watching God,” was born in Florida on Jan. 7, 1891, but she moved to New York in 1925 with only $1.50 to her name. She soon became friends with Langston Hughes and Dorothy West. Carla Kaplan, a professor of American Literature at Northeastern University and author of “Zora Neale Hurston: A Life in Letters,” said the author and anthropologist would be “so tickled” to be praised in such a modern way. “She was a very private woman who loved publicity,” Kaplan said, adding that Hurston often found herself “wanting others to see that she had a glean or a shine.” Hurston’s life in Harlem was often stranger than fiction – the scribe once “borrowed” money from a homeless beggar for a subway fare, claiming she needed the money “worse than you today.” She died in poverty in a Florida welfare center in 1960. “She was always more interested in recognition than she was with money,” Kaplan said. This is huge for Google to celebrate Zora Neale Hurston in this way. Hopefully, this leads to the company paying tribute to more influential African Americans.
