Congressman Al Green Plays Death Threats He Received For Calling For Trump’s Impeachment Camille Scott, a spokeswoman for Congressman Al Green says he’s been receiving threatening messages to his offices in both Houston and Washington D.C. after calling for Donald Trump’s impeachment earlier this week. The Congressman played some of the more graphic messages for attendees at a town hall in Houston this Saturday, according to Houston Chronicle reports : “You ain’t going to impeach nobody. Try it and we will lynch all of you,” a caller said in one of several threatening recordings the Houston Democrat played at a town hall meeting Saturday. “You’ll be hanging from a tree,” the caller continued. The calls use graphic racial slurs, some calling Green the n-word. “You are so disgusting,” one caller said. “You’re scum. You’re pathetic.” Green says he wanted his constituents to be aware of the calls, but he remains focused on taking steps toward the impeachment process. “You cannot allow hate to be hidden,” Green said about the voicemails. “You have to expose hate. Hate is a means by which people can be harmed. It’s an evil. The best way to deal with evil is to expose.” Green called for Trump’s impeachment from the House floor Wednesday, citing the firing of FBI Director James Comey as one of his reasons. “The president fired the FBI Director who was investigating him and said he did it because of the investigation,” Green said. “That’s pretty serious. That’s obstruction of justice. We believe no person is above the law, not even the President of the United States of America.” Green says his objective in calling the town hall was to allow the Houston community to voice their concerns about the president. Some attendees asked how they could help with the impeachment process. Green encouraged them to call their local representatives and to continue to show up for town hall meetings. “I’m expecting the people to stand up and make their voices heard, so that we in Congress will know what their desires are,” he said. “When the people express their will, I think it will impact the will of the Congress.” The event had a heavy police presence and thorough security checks were administered to all who attended the meeting at Fountain Life Center. Some in attendance expressed their support for Green, including Robin Paoli, who helped organize the Houston Women’s March in January. “We stand with you,” Paoli said of Green. “We stand with your honorable action of holding the president accountable. I as a white woman stand by my brother and say we will not tolerate those kind of death threats and racial slurs that are being thrown at you.” We love that Green is getting support from his constituents on this matter, but do we really want a Trump impeachment? Just know, Vice President Pence is FAR FAR worse. In the meantime though, Trump is doing a great job of making America hate again, isn’t he? Getty Images
Trump Fires James Comey As FBI Director In Wake Of Clinton E-Mail Mistake The the low-budget soap opera that has become the United States of America continues to present plot twist after plot twist. After effusively praising FBI director James Comey for bringing down the hammer on Hillary Clinton during the election, orange Fanta POTUS has decided that he no longer needs him. Like so many Apprentice contestants, and several folks on the executive staff, Trump fired James Comey today with this statement read by Sean Spicer: Today, President Donald J. Trump informed FBI Director James Comey that he has been terminated and removed from office. President Trump acted based on the clear recommendations of both Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and Attorney General Jeff Sessions. The FBI is one of our Nation’s most cherished and respected institutions and today will mark a new beginning for our crown jewel of law enforcement,” said President Trump. A search for a new permanent FBI Director will begin immediately. Comey came under fire yesterday when the FBI released a statement rebutting the idea that Hillary Clinton’s aide, Huma Abedin, had forwarded “hundreds of thousands of emails” to her then-freak-a-leek husband, Anthony Weiner. According to ThinkProgress , the Bureau’s statement clarified that only “a small number” of emails were accidentally forwarded to Weiner. Then comes the fact that despite Trump’s best effort to purport innocence, Comey confirmed that the FBI was indeed investigating Trump for his alleged collusion with Vladimir Putin and the Russians to interfere with our election. Sounds like anyone who thinks Trump might be a shady, dirtbag, scumbucket, is going to get the Ned Stark treatment (spoiler alert) OFF WITH HIS (or HER) HEAD! Who’s President mans is this?!? It's been a rough week for Kendall Jenner . And for Pepsi. And for people who like commercials that aren't literally the dumbest thing they've ever seen. On Tuesday, Pepsi debuted their brand new ad: the idea was that a bunch of people of all sorts of walks of life come together for a peaceful protest. Kendall Jenner is nearby modeling, and decides to get involved. Just when it looks like the police might be ready to take action, Kendall hands an officer a Pepsi. Everyone cheers, because the Pepsi has saved them all. It's utterly ridiculous , and it's hard to believe that it got made in the first place. But thank goodness it did, because last night, Saturday Night Live took it on in just the most delightful skit. In the skit, the director of the commercial takes a phone call from his sister, and describes the premise to her. And it does not go well. She tells him it's “sorta tone-deaf,” so he talks to her husband instead, who tells him that he's just using people from different races to sell soda. He then asks his sister put a neighbor on the phone, “a black one.” He only gets as far as saying the commercial is “an homage to the Black Lives Matter movement” when she tells him not to even touch it. There's even a special appearance from Kendall Jenner, telling one of her sisters how “cute” the ad is going to be. Oh, you guys … Check out the skit in the video below:

Casey Affleck Slams Trump Policies We’ve been really trying to avoid feeling any type of positive vibes for Casey Affleck for a number of reasons, one of them being that he’s a relative of Ben Affleck’s who definitely reaps plenty of the nepotistic benefits of being Ben’s little brother, another being that he’s pretty much the only thing standing in the way of Denzel getting a Best Actor Oscar tonight for “Fences” and the last being that he hasn’t been half as clumsy as Nate Parker when maneuvering around questions about his shady past which includes sexual assault allegations, but clearly the guy is trying to redeem himself and after the speech he gave at the Independent Spirit Awards Saturday night we may even have to watch ‘Manchester By The Sea’ finally. After all — besides slamming Donald Trump’s policies for being un-American he also quoted our director homie Ezra Edelman’s mom — Marian Wright Edelman, who is a national treasure and an absolute HERO of a black woman (she founded the Children’s Defense Fund). Edelman last week penned a beautiful op-ed for the Huffington Post which discussed how the family of Frederick Douglass stepped up following President Trump’s Black History Month breakfast blunder to remind the country of his legacy. In that piece, Edelman called this a “time to struggle for the future of the soul of our nation.” “I know this feels preachy and boring and I’m preaching to the choir but I’m just lending my little voice to the chorus here,” Affleck added. “And saying that all of you, [if] you are struggling, you’re doing it so, so well and speaking up and I’m really proud to be a part of this community for that reason.” Clap for him?
