Diddy Says ‘Hello, Good Morning’ To ‘Good Morning America’

Diddy-Dirty Money perform their latest in Central Park. By Jayson Rodriguez Diddy performs on “Good Morning America” on June 4 Photo: George Napolitano/ FilmMagic NEW YORK — Diddy is a pretty busy guy these days, as he simultaneously promotes his new film, “Get Him to the Greek,” and his forthcoming album, Last Train to Paris. But the multi-hyphenate entertainer still has more energy than most, as he showed when he and his Diddy-Dirty Money collective took to the stage early Friday morning (June 4) for the “Good Morning America” Summer Concert Series in Manhattan’s Central Park. “I wanna thank y’all for coming out, New York,” Diddy told the gathered crowd during a commercial break. “I know you got work [to go to].” The Bad Boy Records mogul performed his latest single, “Hello, Good Morning,” sans featured guests Rick Ross and T.I. Backed by Dawn Richards and Kaleena, Diddy was upbeat and energetic at an hour when most New Yorkers were sipping their first cup of coffee. “How fly is he/ Your baby mama cry for me like Jodeci,” Diddy rapped over the frenzied track. “So how you not notice me/ Pull up to the club in the coldest V.” Later, he delivered a medley of his past hits, including “Last Night,” “All About the Benjamins” and “Mo’ Money, Mo’ Problems.” Diddy’s long-in-the-works album, Last Train to Paris, is set for a June 28 release at midnight following the BET Awards. The music magnate told “GMA hosts Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos that his ” Train music” is “constantly progressive.” Recently, Diddy explained the project was more R&B-based than electro-infused as many had initially believed. The album’s love story is what drives the bulk of the collection, he said. “One of the things we’re trying to represent is emotion,” Diddy told MTV News late last year. “Not being afraid to show emotion on record. A lot of records out right now — no disrespect to them, but they’re all surface. It’s about what people have, or a dance. “All our records are gonna be about love, feelings and emotion,” Diddy continued. ” Last Train to Paris is a love story, and the most vulnerable album I’ve ever been involved in. It’s raw emotion — you get a feeling, a vibe.” What did you think about Diddy’s “GMA” performance? Let us know in the comments! Related Artists Diddy-Dirty Money Diddy

Diddy-Dirty Money Say ‘Hello, Good Morning’ In Frenzied New Video

The Bad Boy mogul’s latest clip features guest appearances by T.I., Rick Ross and Swizz Beatz. By Jayson Rodriguez Diddy in his video for “Dirty Money” Photo: Bad Boy Diddy ‘s gone on record explaining that his Last Train to Paris album will revolve around a narrative that follows the hip-hop mogul as he embarks on a journey to reunite with a would-be love. The excursion will take the Bad Boy Records CEO from London to Paris, with each record detailing his lovesick pursuit. So it’s only right that Diddy’s new video for “Hello, Good Morning,” the third clip from his Dirty Money project, would be a study in frenzied energy. Featuring Rick Ross and T.I., along with a cameo by Swizz Beatz, the video premiered Thursday (May 13) on Vevo. While the visual is set in Los Angeles, with the exception of a passing shot of the Staples Center, the city is anonymous. Ross opens the clip, backed by Diddy, Swizz and Dirty Money’s Dawn Richards and Kalenna. “Hello, good morning/ Tell me what the liq read/ Pretty face, thin waist, with the sick weave/ First time fish-tailing in the six-speed,” Ross spits, in a club scene. “Real bad boy, tell them come and get me.” Diddy speeds across the city in a bug-eyed Bugatti, with a helicopter tailing him ominously, as he recites the song’s chorus. Tip kicks his “5 Star” flow with two beautiful women draped over him in a hotel penthouse suite. Diddy ends the proceedings with a bang, literally, as he raps the third verse in a wide-open lot as fireworks go off behind him and his two female DM counterparts. The Diddy-Dirty Money video follows clips for the singles “Love Comes Down” and “Angels.” “We’re just trying to roll it out properly,” Diddy told MTV News last year about the long-awaited album. “I wanted a chance to lay out songs for you. A lot of singles we putting out now — that’s the introduction. We didn’t even get to that Train music. We’re hitting you with warning shots, letting you know we’re here.” What do you think about Diddy’s latest video? Let us know in the comments! Related Artists Diddy

American Idol Didi March 31 Diddy Dirty Money, Usher and Ruben Studdard

Diddy’s group, the Diddy Dirty Money entertains the millions of viewers and the crowds at American Idol but the real story is about how the 10 finalists to American Idol are now reduced to 9. They sang the song “Helo Good Morning.” Diddy, Diddy Dirty Money, Usher and Ruben Studdard performed at the Top 10 final for American Idol season 9. Didi Benami, who sang What Becomes of the Broken Hearted went home with a broken heart. She was always the weaker member of the crew and many expected her to go home. Though she did have a strong following of loyalists, it was her time. Simon Cowell gave Didi Benami the news. It’s quite a coincidence that the day Diddy and his new group the Diddy Dirty Money comes onto the American Idol stage, that it would also be Didi that would go home. Maybe Didi can join Diddy’s group and they can call it the Diddy Didi Dirty Money or Didi Diddy Dirty Money. I apologize for that lame joke and will keep my day job. Didi Benami Sent Home On ‘American Idol’

Tim Urban and Katie Stevens survive the bottom three amid performances by Usher, Diddy-Dirty Money and Ruben Studdard. By Gil Kaufman Didi Benami on “American Idol” Wednesday Photo: Fox It was another week with no save on “American Idol.” Didi Benami’s ride to potential stardom screeched to a halt Wednesday night (March 31) when even a strong reprise of her signature Fleetwood Mac cover wasn’t enough to keep her in the game. The action-packed hour featured performances from Usher, season-two “Idol” champ Ruben Studdard and Diddy-Dirty Money, as well as a visit from Justin Bieber, but all eyes were on the top 10, as nearly half the finalists were potential bottom-three fodder after an uneven night of R&B performances on Tuesday. It’s on to the next one, though, for Lee Dewyze, Casey James, Aaron Kelly and Siobhan Magnus, who survived after her wobbly take on Chaka Khan’s “Through the Fire” elicited a thumbs-down across the board from the judges. Also safe were Crystal Bowersox, Andrew Garcia and Michael Lynche, who celebrated his luck with a near body slam of Ryan Seacrest after the host tried to fake him out. Teen Katie Stevens had no such luck, taking another trip to the bottom three after the judges had mixed reviews for her cover of Aretha Franklin’s iconic “Chain of Fools.” She was joined, not surprisingly, by Benami, who got mostly poor notices for her jazzy attempt at “What Becomes of the Brokenhearted,” a departure from her singer/songwriter lane that drew predictions of a trip home from our “Idol” experts . Joining them was perma-grinning “Teflon” Tim Urban, who got flamed for his shambolic attempt at Anita Baker’s “Sweet Love.” He took the time to explain that the reason he’s always smiling onstage is that he appreciates the opportunity to sing for millions, and if it’s his last chance to do so, he doesn’t want to leave the stage wearing a frown. The sojourn in the cellar was short for Stevens, who was the first one sent back to safety, followed by the seemingly bulletproof Urban, who busted out his signature smile upon hearing the news. Benami gave it one more chance, taking another swing at her well-received folky ramble through Fleetwood Mac’s “Rhiannon,” which she imbued with the coffeehouse flavor that made the judges fall in love with her the first time. Though she flubbed a note near the end, the performance was a mostly strong one, but, alas, not enough to keep her in the mix. After not even considering the save last week when they sent Paige Miles packing , Simon Cowell seemed torn over whether to bust it out this time. “It’s bad news, sweetheart. We’re not going to save you,” he said with a frown. “[But] it was a million times better than what you did last night.” Benami took a gracious bow and smiled as she watched her farewell montage before breaking into tears as her fellow finalists crowded around for a warm group hug. At the top of the show, producers amped up the drama in a whole new way, intercutting footage from the upcoming “Clash of the Titans” remake with clips from Tuesday night’s performances, setting up the night’s eliminations as a battle between the monolithic judges and the starry-eyed contestants. Among the performers was nearly slim season-two champ Studdard, who spread some velvet-teddy-bear love with his silky ode to the perfect lover, “Don’t Make ‘Em Like You No More,” working the stage like an old-school soul veteran and encouraging the audience to get into it as he swayed and bobbed to the beat. Also in the house was Justin Bieber, who was on hand to see a performance from his musical guru, this week’s “Idol” mentor, Usher. Wearing a dark suit with silver lapels and a black bowler hat, Ush popped and locked his way through his new single, the spare dance anthem “OMG,” with help from Will.I.Am. Making his “Idol” debut was Diddy, with Dirty Money, performing their new single “Hello, Good Morning” in public for the first time. The throbbing Euro-disco club burner with a Timbaland-style beat found the Bad Boy boss busting out his signature shoulder-shrugging dance moves while sporting a white leather suit and bouncing across a fog-enshrouded stage. Next week, the top nine will take on the Lennon/McCartney songbook as they sing Beatles songs. What did you think of tonight’s elimination? Did America send the right singer home?
