By Terri Schwartz Jewel and Ty Murray Photo: Ethan Miller/ Getty Images It’s a boy for Jewel and husband Ty Murray, who welcomed their first child on Monday night. “Ty and I are so pleased to welcome our new baby boy Kase Townes Murray into the world!” Jewel posted on her website . “We are over come with happiness – it really is as great as everyone told us it would be- better even!” The couple have said they have been trying to conceive for two years and announced that they were expecting back in January. The two were married in 2008 in the Bahamas. Kase was born in Texas — where the couple owns a working ranch — at 7 p.m. CT, weighing 7 pounds, 6 ounces. Previously, Jewel opened up about finding the right time to start a family. “I have always been a workaholic, so I had to learn how to slow down and take care of myself in a different way,” she told People in January. “I’m trying to be in the moment and really enjoy my pregnancy. I feel really lucky.” Murray felt similarly enthused about starting a family after three years of marriage. “We’re so excited to be expecting our first baby,” he said. “We always knew we wanted to have a child, and this time in our lives feels right.” Jewel released an album of children’s song back in 2009 called Lullaby and now has a new collection of kid-friendly songs called The Merry Goes ‘Round that will be released in August. ‘When you got an estate, it’s so much paperwork and red tape and legal stuff you gotta deal with,’ Wu-Tang mastermind says of late friend’s music. By Rob Markman, with reporting by Adam Murphy RZA Photo: MTV News Wu-Tang Clan ain’t nothin’ ta eff wit, and neither are the RZA ‘s beats. While in Berlin promoting his new headphone line Chambers by Rza, the Wu producer told MTV News that he has given beats to a number of hip-hop artists, including Nas, Busta Rhymes and Ludacris, as well as his cousin and Wu-partner GZA for his Liquid Swords 2 album. “Me and GZA talked about doing Liquid Swords part 2, a sequel. We talked about it for a while,” RZA said about the follow-up to GZA’s 1996 album. “We actually started a little and then we pulled back based on scheduling, based on my movie.” RZA’s love affair with Hollywood is no secret. As an actor, Bobby Digital has appeared in “American Gangster” alongside Russell Crowe and has recently been cast in “G.I. Joe: Cobra Strikes.” RZA has also been hard at work directing “The Man With the Iron Fists,” a movie set in feudal China which will star Russell Crowe, Pam Grier and Lucy Liu. “The movie has taken me out of the loop of music. But what I have been doing, I’ve been going to studios and inviting people to my studio. So I went to the studio with Luda and I emptied beats from my beat machine for him. Whether he use it or not is up to him, but I just been emptying out my beat machines,” RZA said before revealing more of his collaborative hopefuls. “I emptied out some beats on Busta, I emptied out some beats on Nas, emptied out some beats for [Ghostface Killah] and for Wu-Tang Clan — just sent them 20 beats a few weeks ago.” Though he is very passionate about making movies at the moment, RZA knows music is what got him where he is today. “I really want to put a lot of my energy into film, but I know that I got here because of music and I know people dig my music. And I’m like, ‘Why not put the music out there too?’ ” Judging from his activity, it is a safe bet that fans can hear a lot of new RZA music in the near future, but anyone expecting to hear collaborations between the producer and his cousin, the late Ol’ Dirty Bastard, shouldn’t get their hopes up. While the Abbot does confirm that he has plenty of unreleased Ol’ Dirty material, releasing those tunes are quite difficult. “That’s a very tricky situation, because ODB has passed and he has an estate,” he said. “When you got an estate, it’s so much paperwork and red tape and legal stuff you gotta deal with. I tried to put out a song last year called ‘Dirt’s the Boogie,’ and they threatened me with an injunction and I wrote the lyrics to the song. Made the beat, wrote the lyrics and Dirty just performed it.” Instead of holding onto the work, though, RZA is contemplating leaving the unheard recordings to Dirty’s son when the time is right. “I will tell the fans, I do have a few 2-inch reels of material nobody has but me. I don’t know what I’ll do with it,” he said. “Maybe in time I’ll just give it to his son, I don’t know.” Do you want to hear RZA’s ODB tapes? Let us know in the comments! Miami Dolphins player, Brandon Marshall, was rushed to the hospital last night after he was stabbed by his wife, Michi Nagomi-Marshall. The two have been married for about a year now, and to the public, seemed to have some what of a “happy relationship”. Brandon told police that he “tripped and fell on a vase”, however, Michi actually confessed and admitted to stabbing her husband, claiming that it was self defense. Sounds like an episode of “Snapped” to me! Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time the couple has found themselves in a domestic situation. Apparently, a year prior to the couple’s wedding, they were both arrested after someone saw them in a fight, “kicking and punching each other”. Brandon was also involved in another domestic situation with an ex-girlfriend before dating Michi in 2006 in which he was suspended from the team for violating the league’s policy. Brandon’s recovery will take about 2-3 weeks while Michi remains at the Broward County Jail on $75,000 bond. She faces charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. OUCH! According to TMZ, Brandon’s agent spoke out on the situation, stating; “This is a very difficult time for Brandon and family, thankfully he will make a full recovery … We simply ask that his privacy is respected.” I always wonder what causes a woman to snap to the point where she would want to stab her husband. It leaves you to wonder what actually went down between to two to push her to the point of physically harming the man she loves. SMH domestic violence is never okay! I hope things get better for the couple! I definitely hate to see domestic violence in ANY type of relationship. *sad face* Read the full story here. Remember the time when Murder Inc. absolutely ruled the hip hop scene? Ashanti, Lloyd, Charli Baltimore, Vita and the king of it all, Ja Rule, topped the charts in the early 2000s. They were like the Young Money of that generation. Well, lucky New Yorkers got a trip down memory lane last night with the chance to see some of the members of Murder Inc. reunite on stage at the Dirty Money concert at the Hammerstein Ballroom. Opening act, Lloyd, brought out Ashanti and they performed their single, “Southside” in front of a surprised and excited crowd. Then Ja Rule joined them on stage as he and Ashanti performed “Always On Time”. Wow, those songs definitely bring back memories! Check out the video of the performance from the Dirty Money show below! I’d love to see Murder Inc. reunite more often! I was definitely a big Murder Inc. fan back in the day!
