How to green our mindset

” Everybody needs beauty as well as bread, places to play in and pray in, where nature may heal and give strength to body and soul.” John Muir “I still find the day too short for all the thoughts I want to think, all the walks I want to take, all the books I want to read and all the friends I want to see.” John Burroughs The very first step in greening our lives is to green our attitude, the way we think about and embrace life. Here are some simple tips: Unplug our media mind once in awhile and get out on a walk or even a sit in nature. A study by University of Illinois scientists Frances E. Kuo and William C. Sullivan found that a canopy of trees and greenery cools more than the forest floor, it can help to cool mental anguish and unrest. Their findings clearly indicate that: “Exposure to trees and vegetation seems to reduce mental fatigue and feelings of irritability that come with it.” Gardening is a great way to unplug from stress and connect with nature. A green time-out is usually just the ticket for improving our kids mindset because children benefit greatly from immersion in the green world as well. Head on over to the National Wildlife Federation’s Green Hour website for great info. and ideas about family green time.

Rejoice! Rejoice! It’s Easter!

eng.pozdrav.ru As we close this day of Saturday, let us all rejoice for the rising of our Lord Jesus Christ. Let u take time to read and feed our souls with His words. Here are some Easter quotes: “He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you. And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word. And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him. Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me.” – Matthew 28: 6-10 KJV “And he departed from our sight that we might return to our heart, and there find Him. For He departed, and behold, He is here.” – St. Augustine “He is risen; he is not here.” – Mark 16:6 “This is the promise that He hath promised us, even eternal life.” – 1 John 2:25 “The joyful news that He is risen does not change the contemporary world. Still before us lie work, discipline, sacrifice. But the fact of Easter gives us the spiritual power to do the work, accept the discipline, and make the sacrifice.” – Henry Knox Sherrill “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die.” – John 11:25-26 “Now let the heavens be joyful, Let earth her song begin: Let the round world keep triumph, And all that is therein; Invisible and visible, Their notes let all things blend, For Christ the Lord is risen Our joy that hath no end.” – John of Damascus “Do not abandon yourselves to despair. We are the Easter people and hallelujah is our song.” – Pope John Paul II “Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die.’” – John 11:25-26 NIV “But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him.” – Acts 2:24 NIV “This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers.” – 1 John 3:16 NIV “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” – John 3:16 NIV “Every character has an inward spring; let Christ be that spring. Every action has a keynote; let Christ be that note, to which your whole life is attuned.” – Henry Drummond “No man can follow Christ and go astray.” – William H.P.
