Teenage Girl Unearths 3.85 Carat Diamond in State Park

Neil Diamond singing “Sweet Caroline” at Fenway Park is pretty cool. But not nearly as cool as finding a 3.85-carat diamond at a state park that could be worth as much as $30,000! That’s what happened to 14-year old Tana Clymer this weekend, as the Oklahoma City native went digging around Arkansas State Park and came up with a seriously expensive stone. Girl Finds VERY Expensive Diamond in Park “I thought it was a piece of paper or foil from a candy wrapper,” Clymer told Good Morning America. “Then, when I touched it, I thought it was a marble.” In actuality, it was a teardrop-shaped diamond that could be worth as much as $30,000 and, incredibly, is the the 396th diamond found in the park – which sits on an eroded ancient volcanic – in 2013. Assistant Superintendent Bill Henderson says visitors are permitted to keep whatever they find at the venue. “No two diamonds are alike, and each diamond finder’s story is unique, too,” he said in a statement. “What an experience for Tana to remember the rest of her life.” Tana has named the diamond God’s Jewel and told GMA that divine intervention played a role in this discovery. “I think God pointed me to it,” she says. “I was about to sprint to join my family, and God told me to slow down and look. Then I found the diamond.”

Brooklyn Artist Turns Dumpster into Livable Apartment

They say that one man’s trash is another man’s treasure. So with that in mind, meet Gregory Kloehn. This Brooklyn native is an artist who has converted a $2,000 industrial dumpster into his very own apartment. It has a stove. It has a toilet. It sort of has a bed. Is it the most desirable residence out there? Not exactly. But consider the alternative: paying thousands a month in rent just to be shoved in with four other roommates and a handful of bed bugs. Yup. Millions of New Yorkers just realized… Kloehn is a genius! Brooklyn Man Lives in Dumpster

Amish Mafia Star Sentenced to Prison for Wild Car Chase

Alan Beiler is headed to prison. The 35-year old Amish Mafia star was sentenced yesterday to as much as 23 months behind bars, following his refusal to pull over last summer after Lancaster County police tried to stop him for an expired car registration. About a year ago, Beiler led cops on a wild, dangerous chase against traffic that resulted in one state trooper crashing and suffering a concussion. He pleaded guilty in May to charges of attempting to elude police, drug possession and driving with a suspended license. Amish Mafia returns for Season 2 on the Discovery Channel on August 13. The series centers on a group of Amish individuals in Pennsylvania who protect their community and maintain peace and order.

$92 Quadrillion: Deposited Into User’s PayPal Account!

Chris Reynolds opened his June PayPal statement a little while ago and could not believe his good fortune. His great fortune, actually. His ridiculous fortune: the numbers said the Pennsylvania PR executive had a balance of… $92,233,720,368,547,800. We’ll do the math for you: That’s over 92 QUADRILLION dollars. “It’s a curious thing. I don’t know, maybe someone was having fun,” Reynolds said of the discovery, which would have made him the wealthiest man in the world by a large margin if legitimate. Unfortunately, when Reynolds checked the actual website, he saw his balance for what it truly is: $0. PayPal owned up to the mistake and offered to donate an unknown amount to a cause of Reynolds’ choosing. So that’s almost the same as being a quadrillionaire! “This is obviously an error and we appreciate that Mr. Reynolds understood this was the case,” PayPal said in a statement.

Cory Monteith Dead; Glee Star Found Unresponsive in Hotel Room

Glee star Cory Monteith was found dead Saturday. He was just 31.  Vancouver police found Monteith dead after he failed to check out at noon from the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel. Staff went to check on him and made the discovery. It’s been reported that he was “clearly deceased” at the scene.  According to investigators, he was in the room Friday night with some friends before the group went out on the city, then came back early Saturday alone. No foul play is suspected in the death of Cory Monteith, whose rep confirmed the worst in a statement in the hours after this story broke: “We are so saddened to confirm that the reports on the death of Cory Monteith are accurate,” the rep said. “We are in shock and mourning this tragic loss.” What led to his tragic passing is unclear, however. Police said “it was not immediately apparent” what caused his death. An autopsy is set for Monday. Monteith voluntarily checked himself into rehab earlier this year, admitting he had substance abuse issues. It was his second time seeking treatment. He had been dating fellow Glee star Lea Michele since 2012. Our thoughts and prayers are with his friends and family.

Nik Wallenda Grand Canyon Walk: Aerialist Crosses Quarter-Mile Chasm on Wire

Aerialist Nik Wallenda completed a tightrope walk a quarter mile over the Little Colorado River Gorge near the Grand Canyon in Arizona on Sunday. Wallenda, of the renowned Flying Wallendas, performed the stunt on a two-inch-thick steel cable, 1,500 feet above the river on the Navajo Nation. Nik Wallenda Grand Canyon Walk He took just more than 22 minutes to complete the tightrope walk, pausing and crouching twice as winds whipped around him and the rope swayed. Nik Wallenda didn’t wear any sort of harness and stepped slowly and steady throughout, murmuring prayers to Jesus almost constantly along the way. “Thank you Lord. Thank you for calming that cable, God,” he said at one point about 13 minutes into the walk, when things got particularly harrowing. The event was broadcast live on the Discovery Channel (above). Winds had been expected to be around 30 m.p.h. Wallenda said they were “unpredictable” and that dust had accumulated on his contact lenses. “It was way more windy, and it took every bit of me to stay focused the entire time,” said the 34-year-old Sarasota, Fla., resident and daredevil. Nik is no stranger to high-wire stunts. His great-grandfather, Karl Wallenda, fell during a performance in Puerto Rico and died at the age of 73. Several other family members, including a cousin and an uncle, have perished while performing wire walking attempts such as his on Sunday. Nik Wallenda is still here, fortunately, having grown up performing with his family and dreamed of crossing the Grand Canyon since he was a teen. Sunday’s stunt comes a year after Nik Wallenda traversed Niagara Falls and earned a seventh Guinness world record … this one may take the cake. Where do you go from here? The event was touted as a walk across the Grand Canyon, an area held sacred by many American Indian tribes, though it was actually just nearby. Some local residents believe Wallenda and Discovery didn’t accurately pinpoint the location … but come on, that was a pretty impressive tightrope walk!

Disgusting: Woman Finds Toad In Can Of Green Beans She Serves For Family Dinner

Eww, disgusting ! Woman Finds Toad In Can Of Green Beans According to WQAD An Indiana family says a typical dinner turned nauseating after they found a toad in their canned green beans. “We eat a lot of green beans, we do, we did. Nobody wants anymore now,” said Gloria Chubb of South Bend. That was then. WBND reports it wasn’t until she served dinner – meatloaf, mashed potatoes, gravy and green beans – that Chubb’s family made the discovery. “I didn’t see it when I dumped it- I didn’t see it at all until after I cooked it in the microwave,” said Chubb. “I was sick, nauseated for two days, and I don’t think I’ll have green beans anytime soon. “My son put some on his plate and said, ‘What is that?’ I thought maybe it was a piece of moldy bacon or something– because they have bacon in them sometimes,” said Chubb. “I and I took it out of there and it wasn’t moldy bacon, it was a toad with parts of his little legs all in the green beans. Other than that he was fully intact.” Chubb alerted the health department, and they took photos of the toad. They concluded the toad was processed along with the food at the canning plant in Wisconsin. The specialist who compiled the incident report said it probably isn’t the only one, since green bean field are natural habitats for toads and frogs. It’s uncommon to find one in canned vegetables but it does happen from time to time. Toads, mice and grasshoppers are the most common rodents or insects found in canned vegetables; they can be found in frozen vegetables as well. Meijer issued this statement: “Our goal at Meijer is to always provide the highest quality products to our customers. We sincerely regret this customer’s experience, and we are in the process of investigating the incident.” What would you do if you found a toad in your green beans. Shutterstock
