This is certainly turning into an interesting week for Hot 97′s DJ Funkmaster Flex. Earlier yesterday morning, the following statement appeared on a blog to which Flex’s wife, Monica Joseph-Taylor, contributes heavily: After almost 18 years of friendship and marriage it is with great regret that I announce my husband Aston Taylor, also known as Funkmaster Flex, and I are separated. We have tremendous love and respect for each-other, and will continue to work on our professional projects together. Our top priority has and will always be our children! I personally ask that the press keep in mind Flex is the celebrity, not myself or my children, please respect our privacy. Actor Terrence Howard , who is currently playing District Attorney Joe Dekker on Law & Order: SVU , took a break from taping to offer his thoughts on racism and the judicial system. “As long as there are humans on the planet there will be some sense of racism until everybody looks exactly the same” he begins. “Which we will never…” He goes on to speak on the the role plays in racism and the importance of addressing the topic in a public forum like a television show. In an up-coming episode Dekker’s cousin is accused of raping a woman and he must defend him. In taking the case he finds out that his aunt was raped by The Klan in the 1960s. “The rapes that occurred in the civil rights activist era against young African-American women, who through no fault of their own [were] gang raped by white men and then discredited by calling them prostitutes, people got away with that for years and it’s contributed to our lack of faith in our judicial system today. We haven’t heard the last from Brett Michaels and Miley Cyrus. The artists recorded a duet of Poison’s “Every Rose Has Its Thorn” last year, only for the release of it to be suspended because rumors of an affair between Bret and Miley’s mother, Tish, flooded the Internet. Both parties denied the story. Bret and Miley Duet Now, the same week Billy Ray called off his divorce from Tish, Michaels has announced his plan to eventually release the single, even citing the rumored affair as the basis for its delay: “The record label was supposed have to this huge humongous release of ‘Every Rose.’ It was going to be Miley’s next-step song, but because of that , they stepped back.” Look for this rendition of “Every Rose Has Its Thorn” to be available for download this summer.

By Jocelyn Vena Billy Ray Cyrus and Tish Cyrus Photo: Jason Merritt/ Getty Images After announcing their split last year Billy Ray Cyrus now says that he and his wife of 17 years, Tish, have decided to reconcile. “I dropped the divorce,” Miley Cyrus’ dad told the hosts of “The View” during a pre-taped appearance on the show airing Friday, according to USA Today. “I wanted to put my family back together.” Cyrus, who appeared on the show to promote his new album, I’m an American, out in June, said he and his family are working out their problems. “Communication I think is one of the biggest problems that we as human beings have in this whole world,” he said. “And I think for the first time me and my entire family are finally communicating with each other in a way that, it’s been quite some time … and to answer your question, things are really the best they’ve ever been.” Cyrus also seemed to retract the statements he made in a GQ interview, in which he said that his and Miley’s hit Disney series “Hannah Montana” “destroyed” their family . “I feel like I kind of got my Miley back in a way,” he said. “I feel like we are the daddy and the daughter that we were before ‘Hannah Montana’ happened. I love ‘Hannah Montana.’ I love Disney. On March 10, the former finalist will introduce viewers to “Aftermath,” a new single that will be released immediately after Lambert performs it on the Fox smash.
