Emile Hirsch is in serious trouble with the law. The actor was arrested on Thursday for third-degree felony assault stemming from an incident that allegedly took place in the very early morning on January 25. According to TMZ sources, police responded to a 911 call from a nightclub in Park City (during the Sundance Film Festival) and found Hirsch totally wasted. Officials say the star “asked [Paramount executive Daniele Bernfeld] why she looked ‘so tough’ and said she was a ‘rich kid’ who should not be at Sundance.” After Bernfeld left to go sit at a table with friends, Hirsch supposedly came up from behind and placed her in a “chokehold.” After that, Bernfeld alleged Hirsch “pulled her across the table and onto the floor” before landing on top of her and choking her to the point that she nearly passed out. A pair of onlookers finally pulled Hirsch off at this point. Hirsch, who is due in court on March 16, was charged with felony aggravated assault, which is punishable by up to five years in jail. In response to the incident, Hirsch’s rep tells TMZ: “Regarding the charges that have been brought against Emile today, the facts that I can relay are that he consumed an enormous amount of alcohol on the evening in question and he has no memory of what happened. “Emile takes these allegations very seriously, and is devastated that any of this has occurred. Last week, hip hop mogul Suge Knight was arrested for murder following a deadly altercation on the set of a commercial for the upcoming film Straight Outta Compton. The confrontation ended in Suge killing a man named Terry Carter by running him over with his car and then fleeing the scene. It was initially reported that Carter was a friend of Knight’s and that his death was accidental. Later, sources claimed that Knight killed Carter intentionally, following an argument. Knight maintained from the start that he was attacked when he arrived on set, and that he had been invited to the location as a part of planned ambush stemming from his feud with Dr. Dre . Now, TMZ is reporting that Suge’s defense team has obtained videotape of the incident which clearly shows him being surrounded by armed assailants, which caused him to flee the scene. The video reportedly reveals that Carter was in on the ambush, despite the fact that he arrived on the scene with Knight. Suge claims that Carter helped arrange the planned attack by luring him to the set for peace talks with Dre. The former Death Row Records CEO – who was shot six times just last summer – says he panicked when he realized it was a trap and did what he had to do to escape the situation. Home Of Only Black Family In White Neighborhood Gets Torched In Suspected Hate Crime An African-American family of four is lucky to have made it out alive after their home, which sits in a predominantly white area was allegedly targeted in vicious hate crime attack. via CBS Los Angeles Authorities Thursday were investigating a “suspicious” fire at a South Bay home while the family who lives there wondered if they were targeted. The fire was reported at 2:15 a.m. Wednesday in the 700 block of 11th Street in Manhattan Beach, the Manhattan Beach Fire Department said. The family is black and moved into the home about a year ago. The family was asleep inside the home, but was awakened by their barking dog and smoke detectors. They were able to get out of the house safely. Homeowner Ron Clinton said someone left a burning tire at their front door. “They used an accelerant to ignite it,” said Clinton. “All I know is that when I woke up, I woke up to a loud blast.” “The fire was extinguished and found to be confined to the front entrance, with significant smoke damage to the second and third floor,” officials said. The fire caused more than $200,000 in smoke damage to the home. A motive has yet to be determined, but Clinton, a married father of three, says the family has had other incidents. “We don’t know who could have done it. But being we are the only African-American family in that area, it was brought to my front door and it feels like it’s personal.” Hopefully they find who did this and stop them from attempting to harm other families.

He added: “As Managing Editor of NBC Nightly News, I have decided to take myself off of my daily broadcast for the next several days, and Lester Holt has kindly agreed to sit in for me to allow us to adequately deal with this issue. “Upon my return, I will continue my career-long effort to be worthy of the trust of those who place their trust in us.” The scandal surrounding Williams began during a January 30 broadcast,, when he erroneously claimed his helicopter was hit by a grenade in March 2003 as he covered the Iraq War. Williams apologized on air last Wednesday. Since then, the network has opened an internal investigation into his coverage of the war and other major events, including Hurricane Katrina.
