All Of The Music Videos Off Kanye West’s ‘Graduation’ Ranked

The Chicago native dropped his third studio album on September 11, 2007, in an event that is still talked about pretty often for something that happened eleven years ago. Though he wasn’t exactly a small-time rapper at the time, Kanye was the underdog in his highly publicized competition with 50 Cent , who both released their albums on the same day. 50 didn’t retire afterward as advertised, but Mr. West ended up raking in a whopping 960K in first week sales and beating out Curtis ‘ 690K. This solidified Ye’s spot at the top of the hip-hop game and skyrocketed his whole career–every album that followed for Kanye, to this day, has reached #1 on Billboard charts. While it’s nearly impossible to say one thing that Kanye West is known for or best at, his visuals as a whole are a pretty good start. From fashion, to design, to music videos, Ye is always thinking about how things look just as much as he’s considering how they sound. With that being said, the music videos from Graduation are some of Kanye’s most iconic, most viewed, and most talked about. In honor of the project’s eleven year anniversary, let’s take a walk down memory lane and remember how all 6 of the music videos off of Graduation fare today. 6. “Can’t Tell Me Nothing” “Can’t Tell Me Nothing” is arguably one of the best songs on the album–and one of the best tracks in Ye’s entire discography–but the same can’t really be said for the video. While it’s a good example of the always beautiful and deliberate display of colors that the rapper is known for throughout his work, it’s a very simple video as far as Kanye visuals go–not a bad thing, just not as memorable as a lot of his visual concepts are.   5. “Homecoming” The video for “Homecoming” was nominated for Best Hip-Hop Video at the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards. A tribute to his hometown Chicago, the all black-and-white Hype Williams -directed visual is a pretty straight forward look at the people, landmarks, and monuments of the windy city. Though the music video does it’s job paying homage to the Chi, a song with such heavy visualization and allusions could have benefitted from a colorful, illustrative video.   4. “Stronger” Another gift from Hype Williams, “Stronger” gives us a visual initially shot over 9 days in Tokyo, Japan. The guerrilla-style visual is futuristic, which fits the theme of Graduation as a whole, but specifically the sounds of Kanye and Daft Punk on the track. The original storyline for the video features West playing a man in a motorcycle gang, who gets into a bar fight with Japanese rivals. West ended up not liking the video, abandoned the storyline, and edited the visual to obtain “the hottest shots possible,” adding more footage in New York City.   3.  “Flashing Lights (feat. Dwele)” In “Flashing Lights,” a  Playboy  model drives out to the desert, strips down, and pops open the trunk of her car to reveal a bound-and-gagged Kanye West before pounding him with a shovel. This video is some incredible foreshadowing for the genius to come from My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy ‘s visuals, and it’s most definitely a bright highlight in Ye’s catalogue of impressive music videos.   2. “Good Life (feat T-Pain)” The music video for “Good Life” is something special. It was directed by Jonas & François with animation by So-Me, and is jam packed with colorful writing, creativity, and fun. This visual is the perfect representation of living the good life and evokes the same feeling the song itself does, watching Kanye and T-Pain happily sing along to their smash hit. 1. “Good Morning” Those who hold Graduation– or any Kanye album for that matter–close to their heart are bound to disagree on which visuals come out on top, but there’s no denying how iconic the music video for “Good Morning” is. Starring the famous Dropout Bear, the video was directed by Japanese contemporary artist  Takashi Murakami , who also designed the album artwork   and the cover art for its singles.

The Bachelor Will Do Fantasy Suites Differently for Virgin Colton Underwood!

The Bachelor Nation knows that Colton Underwood is the next Bachelor , and fans have some questions and concerns. Chris Harrison has come forward to address at least some of those worries. He promises that fans will have a good time. He shares how the show plans to tackle Colton’s virginity — and how this season’s Fantasy Suites will be very special. At the New York premiere of  A Simple Favor  on Monday. September, 10, Chris Harrison told Entertainment Tonight about why they picked Colton. “No matter what we say, if we said Jason, if we said Blake, it doesn’t matter,” Chris admits. “There’s going to be backlash, that’s the way social media works these days.” In case you’re wondering why so many celebs keep saying problematic stuff, it’s that exact attitude and an inability to distinguish between trolls and actual feedback. “Colton’s going to be good TV, and that is the reason we chose him,” Chris explains bluntly.  That sounds very honest. Chris then cracks a joke that will honestly sell more viewers on Colton than anything else: “He probably won’t have his shirt on after night one, so it’s going to be a good season.” Chris does admit that the fans aren’t sure if Colton is ready for marriage. And, as Chris says, “that’s the whole point of the show.” Looking for candidates for marriage is the whole point of The Bachelor franchise. Finding out if Colton is ready for it is the point of this season, we guess. “Maybe at the end of it, he’s not, and it’s a complete disaster,” Chris says. “That’s the way it goes, that’s life” Chris does address that the Fantasy Suite is going to be a little more intriguing since Colton has never banged before. “Well, this year, because I know he’s the Bachelor, I brought in props,” Chris jokes. His joke continues: “So there’s going to be a big presentation of what happens in the fantasy suite [with] 3D models.” That sounds painfully awkward. Fortunately, to make sure that we know (we hope) that this is a joke, Chris continues. “It really gets interesting,” Chris says. “And I’m going to bring my son in as well, who is a teenager, so I can knock out the talk.” If you haven’t had the talk with your teen yet, they already got it from their friends. But, again, Chris is joking. We hope. Chris does take a slightly more serious tone as he discusses the implications of Colton Underwood’s virginity. “No, but it’s part of the storyline, the fact that Colton’s a virgin, clearly,” Chris affirms. “How will the women react to that?” Chris asks rhetorically. “How is he going to handle that?” That’s a good question. And, of course, we already got a taste of that narrative after the episode aired in which Colton confessed to Becca. “It’s something that he’s obviously dealt with his entire life,” Chris reminds viewers. “And he got emotional about it.” Chris mentions how Colton spoke “about when he was in the NFL and having to fake it.” Actual locker room talk, for Colton, involved pretending that he’d had sexual experiences that he had not. “So, we are going to deal with that,” Chris says. “We’ll dive into that.” We’re sure that they will. So we suppose that Chris Harrison’s pitch for Colton’s season is:  Come for the shirtless eye candy, stay for the virginity drama . Will it work? For the network, it’s a gamble. Especially if someone comes forward and claims that Colton has been lying about his virgin status. Fans have already been warned that Colton is a selfish jerk who may be more interested in fame than finding love or marriage. Some think that, after Arie, the network should have gone with the most trustworthy, non-controversial pick that they could. Others say that people are simply being unfair to Colton. Jen Harley Defends Jersey Shore Meltdown: It Was About My Dead Dog!

DISCLAIMER: We adore pets here at The Hollywood Gossip; and we especially love dogs. So if we take a sarcastic tone while reporting on Jen Harley’s latest Instagram Story post below, or if we straight up mock the occasionally-violent reality star, it’s not because we aren’t sympathetic to the loss of a furry loved one. All that said… … what the heck is Harley talking about here?!? Last Thursday night, MTV aired the much-anticipated confrontation between Harley and Ronnie Ortiz-Magro on Jersey Shore: Family Vacation. It took place in Las Vegas; it centered on Ronnie’s irritation over Jen hiding the couple’s daugther from him; and it even involved a producer stepping in front of a camera in order to try and calm Ronnie down. At various points in the dispute, Harley slammed her on-again/off-again boyfriend as a “loser” as a “psychopath” and as a “piece of sh-t.” She also spit on Ronnie. The argument had seemingly been a long time come, considering how viciously Harley and Ronnie had previously attacked each other on social media. But that wasn’t actually the cause of their contention, Harley now says. Her history with Ronnie didn’t play a significant role in this ugly meltdown, Jen explains on Instagram. She actually blames her anger and emotions at the time on the very recent death of her dog. “They edited out the whole side of my story and [they] just showed me flipping out, not me on the phone with the vet crying after finding out my dog was brought in deceased,” Harley said in response to the episode airing. She continue to defend herself as follows: “I was pissed everyone was hiding it from me and ignoring me! anyone who [owns] a dog would feel the same way !! “They made me go there [and] film it for everyone to see they couldn’t tell me any other way and it was f-cked up and they made it something completely different.” A tabloid source did actually say something similar back in June . After reports of this fight went viral, this insider said “Jen was supposed to be taking care of the dogs when he was away filming, and Ronnie came home to their house and found the dog dead in the pool.” YIKES . We can understand why this would cause serious tension between the estranged reality stars. But it’s not as though they hadn’t been going back and forth online long before this tragedy took place.  So… where do Jen and Ronnie stand now? We have absolutely no idea. One second, we read something about their disdain for each other. The next second, as they are above on July Fourth, the two are looking all lovey-dovey on social media. That photo right here, we should note, was snapped AFTER last week’s crazy episode was filmed. As we keep coming back and saying each time the topic of Jen and Ronnie is raised, only one thing really matters in the end: The health and happiness of their young daughter, Ariana. David Eason: I Need a Gun So They Don’t Force My Straight White Ass Into a Concentration Camp!

It’s been almost seven months since David Eason was fired from Teen Mom 2 for hurling bigoted slurs at fans on social media. But Jenelle Evans’ husband has made a point of not backing away from his controversial stances. In fact — because 2018 is nightmarish hellscape in which every idiot with an opinion feels that they need to cram it down your throat on a daily basis until you run screaming for the “block” button — he’s been more outspoken than ever in recent weeks.  You see, David is one of those well-heeled straight, Christian white guys who has somehow convinced himself he’s an oppressed minority. In David’s mind, the whole world is out to get him, and the barbarians are forever at his gates, which is why he needs to be armed to the teeth in order to defend himself. And he’s been expressing that view in increasingly offensive fashion lately with the help of the preferred weapon of internet jackasses everywhere — memes. As The Ashley’s Reality Roundup points out , David posted the above meme earlier this week, and predictably, the reaction from fans has been one of mingled confusion and outrage. “Why gun control? Because armed people will NOT willingly load themselves into railroad boxcars,” reads the caption. So … does David really think he’s at risk of being sent off to a concentration camp? Interestingly, that post comes on the heels of another one in which Eason boasts of his pride in being a straight white redneck. “For the people who get offended when you call them what they identify themselves as… I’m also proud to be a white man, a southerner and a redneck! #pride,” Eason captioned the above image. As far as we can tell, David is the kind of guy who will tell you that he and the rest of the MAGA crowd are tired of winning in one breath, and then argue that he needs an AR-15 to protect himself from his many oppressors in the next. He’s that very modern sort of dipsh-t who will complain about identity politics while proudly affixing himself with labels that he thinks will make his opinions matter more. Clearly, political matters are very much at the forefront of David’s mind these days. But since he and his wife have had CPS called to their house 20 times in the past year, maybe he should focus a bit more energy on getting his own house in order. Dolores O’Riordan Death Ruled "Tragic Accident" by Coroner

We now know why Dolores O’Riordan passed away in January. The former Cranberries lead singer was shockingly found dead in London several months ago, leaving this world at the relatively young age of 46. There were various theories as to what transpired at the time, with many outlets claiming O’Riordan’s death was related to her history of substance abuse. One irresponsible tabloid even alleged she had overdosed on sleeping pills . Now, however, per The BBC, coroner Shirley Radcliffe has completed her report and determined that the artist died due to a “tragic accident.” She drowned in her hotel bathtub after drinking a lot of alcohol. According to this doctor and her findings, there were no signs of injury or self-harm found during the post-mortem examination. The BBC goes on to say that authorities discovered a bottle of champagne and five miniature bottles in O’Riordan’s hotel room, in addition to “containers of prescription drugs with a quantity of tablets in each container.” Moreover, toxicology tests revealed that O’Riordan’s blood contained “therapeutic” amounts of medication but 330mg of alcohol per 100mls of blood. This equates to “four times over the 80mg legal limit for driving.” In simpler terms: the singer was very, very drunk. But the official report does not state she intentionally drowned herself. Following the release of these findings, The Cranberries released a statement that reads: Today we continue to struggle to come to terms with what happened. Our heartfelt condolences go out to Dolores’ children and her family and our thoughts are with them today. Dolores will live on eternally in her music. To see how much of a positive impact she had on people’s lives has been a source of great comfort for us. We’d like to say thank you to all of our fans for the outpouring of messages and their continues support during this very difficult time. O’Riordan joined The Cranberries when she was only 18 years old. She quickly became an integral part of the band both for her voice and also her songwriting. The group, whose top hits include “Linger,” “Dreams,” and “Zombie,” sold over 40 million albums worldwide and had multiple Billboard Top 200 hits throughout the 1990s. O’Riordan released her first solo album in 2003. Six years later, the group got back together and released an acoustic album as recently as 2017. O’Riordan’s death came as a stunning tragedy to her friends and fans. The remaining band members have repeatedly paid tribute to O’Riordan on Twitter, saying shortly after she died: We are devastated on the passing of our friend Dolores. She was an extraordinary talent and we feel very privileged to have been part of her life from 1989 when we started the Cranberries. The world has lost a true artist today. Elsewhere, The Cranberries will releasing a new album, which O’Riordan had been working on with them before her death. It will contain previously unreleased material by the band, as well as other bonus material from the era and it will be released in October.  O’Riordan leaves behind three kids – Taylor, Mollie and Dakota – as well as her boyfriend, Olé Koretsky. Kendall Jenner BLASTS Caitlyn Jenner: You Betrayed Your Family!

Last month, Kendall Jenner’s dumb comment pissed off the entire modeling world . Now, it sounds like she’s the one who’s feeling furious. Kendall and Caitlyn were spotted at a casual dinner, but eyewitnesses reported that they were arguing. In fact, it sounds like Kendall was really “tearing Caitlyn a new one.” Yikes! Page Six reports that Kendall and Caitlyn argued at dinner while dining at Nobu Malibu. According to eyewitnesses, they were dining near the Schwarzenegger clan, but did not seem to be enjoying a peaceful discussion. “They were arguing . . .” the insider begins, before deciding that this description fails to do justice to the situation. “It was more Kendall ripping Caitlyn a new one,” the source clarifies. According to the insider, Kendall was excoriating Cait “for ‘always turning her back on the family’ after they’ve been so good to her.” Page Six reached out to both women for comments. Caitlyn did not get back to them. Kendall Jenner did respond through a representative, who did not confirm that Kendall was giving Cait a hard time for rejecting the family. According to her rep: “This is absolutely untrue.” If that is true, it is unclear what this alleged argument was about, or whether an argument genuinely took place. It is true that Caitlyn appears to have turned her back on most of the Kardashian clan, though it’s sort of unclear where that begin. (Families, after all, are complicated like that) Caitlyn published a tell-all book about her life that left Kris Jenner and others feeling very hurt and insulted. Just last year, a Keeping Up With The Kardashians clip showed Kendall declare that Caitlyn Jenner is insane while they discussed Cait’s book. Kendall at the time guessed that Cait misremembered or imagined things as being different from how they were. But despite that, which was probably a little played up for the benefit of the cameras and the show, Kendall is close with Caitlyn. She and Kylie both honor Cait for Father’s Day and keep in touch with her. Caitlyn has appeared on Kylie Jenner’s less-than-ideally rated reality series, Life of Kylie . Cait can also be seen on social media spending time with Kendall. And, obviously, the two have dinner sometimes, even if they allegedly get into arguments during these meals. Family is complicated. Cait hasn’t really had contact with her former stepchildren, even though they’ve attended some of the same events. Though Cait has spent time with Kris — getting along for the sake of their shared children, Kim and especially Khloe have been far less forgiving. Rob has been worse, because he’s been actively insulting towards Cait and towards Kris for having married her, but … Rob is usually worse. Kris and Caitlyn are linked through Kendall and Kylie, though, which means that they sometimes bite the bullet and associate even though they’re very awkward exes. That’s life. In the mean time, sometimes, Cait is going to argue with Kylie or Kendall. That can happen within families, even when they’re rich and famous.
