Source: Towfiqu Photography / Getty Man Commits Murder/Suicide Over Medical Bills He Couldn’t Pay An elderly Washington State man called 911 on Wednesday to let them know that he planned to kill himself shortly after he murdered his wife. The 77-year old reportedly told the dispatcher: “I am going to shoot myself. We will be in the front bedroom.” 15 minutes later, deputies showed up at the house, along with crisis negotiators who tried to contact the man via phone and a bullhorn “for almost an hour.” The New York Daily News reports: Deputies used a robot mounted camera to enter the house where they discovered the man lying next to his wife, age 76. Both were dead from apparent gunshot wounds. Detectives found several notes citing “severe ongoing medical problems with the wife” and “expressing concerns that the couple did not have sufficient resources to pay for medical care.” Police say that multiple firearms were found in the home, along with two dogs who they turned over to the local humane society. Very sad situation.
Taylor Swift recently concluded her feud with Katy Perry in very memorable fashion: The latter dressed as a hamburger and appeared in the former's latest music video. And yet while this long-lasting hatchet was buried over the summer, we somehow doubt Kim Kardashian will be donning any food-themed attire for any Taylor Swift project int he near future. Why not? Because these two are STILL going at it! Three years after their rivalry kicked off, Swift spoke to Vogue magazine and once again rehashed what happened and how it made her feel, trying to once again come out on top of Kim as though she were Ray J or something. Take a deep breath and scroll down for the latest… 1. Can You Recap the Basis for This Feud Again? Yes: Way back in July of 2016, Kardashian posted Snapchat videos of Swift talking with Kanye West about his song “Famous,” which featured the lyrics: “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / Why? I made that bitch famous.” 2. So What? Well, Swift had previously slammed Kanye for this song, making it sound as if she had no idea she would be referenced in such a negative manner. 3. She Was Therefore Exposed? Yes, exactly. The conversation between Kanye and Swift that Kim made public featured Taylor being told about West’s lyrics and giving her approval. 4. Take THIS! Swift fired back at Kimye on Instagram three years back, saying memorably on her page: “I would very much like to be excluded from this narrative, one that I have never asked to be a part of, since 2009.” (That’s a reference to when Kanye interruped her speech at the MTV VMAs.) 5. She’s a Cold-Hearted Snake Kim proceeded to trash Swift as a snake on multiple occasions. 6. Did This Have an Effect on Swift’s Career? We’re pretty sure it did. We probably don’t need to tell you that Scientology is bizarrely popular in Hollywood — or that it doesn’t have the greatest reputation in the rest of the world. The reasons for this are as plentiful and insane as the Church’s millions of followers: We suppose it’s not surprising that a religion cooked up by a sci-fi writer and centered around space aliens and extreme narcissism would sell like hotcakes in Tinsel Town but wouldn’t necessarily play in Peoria. Still, as much as a cult that encourages its members to achieve success by battling the Martians in their soul seems tailor-made for actors and other film industry insiders, we’re always amazed by just how many celebs have fallen victim to Scientology’s bonkers claims. Take Brad Pitt, for example. These days, despite some rough patches in his personal life , Pitt remains so inarguably the epitome of cool that his dialogue in the Once Upon a Time In … Hollywood script probably consisted of nothing but the words “Brad says some cool Brad Pitt stuff.” But that wasn’t always the case. There was a time when Brad was just a young Missouran trying to make it in Hollywood and running into the same stumbling blocks as any young thespian. And it was during those early days of failed auditions and thwarted ambitions that the opportunistic bottomfeeders who operate the CoS almost got their hooks in young Mr. Pitt. Former Scientologist Sam Domingo — who was once daughter-in-law to famed opera singer Placido Domingo — recently spoke with Radar Online for a series of interviews in which she shares her most shocking memories from her 22 years as a member of the CoS. Domingo claims that in the early ’90s, Pitt and then-girlfriend Juliette Lewis were recruited for by the Church, but had the good sense to flee in the midst of a grueling “detoxification” program. “Brad was recruited in the 1990s during the time he and Juliette Lewis did a movie together,” Domingo says. “That’s when he was put on the purification rundown.” She described the “rundown” as “a program where they basically load you up with vitamins and you sit in the sauna and sweat for five hours a day.” “At least four kids have died on these programs,” Domingo claims. “Brad was doing the same one. He was in the sweat box.” But unlike Tom Cruise, who remains 100 percent in bed with these loonies , Brad apparently knows a fishy scene when he sees one. “He left! They weren’t able to keep Brad,” Domingo says. Thankfully, Pitt escaped and was able to portray one half of 2019’s most unforgettable onscreen duo (We’re talking, of course, about Cliff Boote and his attack dog, Brandy.), but Brad’s isn’t the only happy ending here. Juliette Lewis has enjoyed quite the memorable career herself, and it’s all because she too was able to break free from the Xenuites. “Juliette got in trouble because she got back into drugs,” Domingo claims. “She was in my course group refusing to study. David Eason has apparently come up with a new plan to make money for himself and his family… … and it centers around the disgraced former reality star using a knife and a hammer and other instruments that seem very untrustworthy and dangerous in his hands. The father of a daughter named Maryssa and three step-children with Jenelle Evans promoted this brand new business via Instagram on Wednesday. The company is called Black River Forge… Eason shared two photos of himself hard at work as a blacksmith for it.. and then wrote the following caption alongside these images: I think my first knife came out pretty well considering the fact I used absolutely no power tools. I didnt make a full video on forging the knife but I will make a video for the next one. I’m thinking about making a handle for this knife and I will post a video If I decide to do that. This knife is extremely sharp but is not considered to be a novelty due to it’s high carbon content (HC). I have some finishing touches to do and will make a sheath for it also. Considering Eason admitted to shooting and killing his family’s pet dog in May — because it allegedly nipped at two-year-old daughter Ensley’s face — followers reacted to these photos with a bit of concern. “Great exactly what the world needs..swamp thing making homemade weapons. who will you experiment on first with them?!” reads one remark on Eason’s page. “This is the worst effin idea ever,” another person commented. “You should be NOWHERE near weapons. And they look like s—anyway. Money tight now that you both have 0 income? Get a real job.” A third person chimed in as follows: “I love how he thinks everyone just forgot he murdered a 10 pound dog.” Indeed, Evans was finally fired as a Teen Mom after Child Protective Services paid her house a visit in the wake of Eason’s pet homicide. They determined that she and David were not raising their kids in a safe environment, removing all three children from the premises for about a month until a judge decreed they could return home. For his part, Eason has made no secret of his love of guns… and violence. Back in October of last year, he almost definitely beat Evans up in a drunken rage, breaking her collarbone in the process. Jenelle herself is the one who said this exact thing to a 911 operator, only to later change her story because she’s a mentally unstable and insecure victim of abuse who is scared of her husband she suddenly remembered what transpired differently. Evans now says she got injured falling into a hole last fall. She didn’t leave Eason after this incident and she says she won’t leave him after the whole dog murder thing. Brooke Houts, a well-known YouTube personality with over 337,000 subscribers, is under major fire right now after a video went viral in which it appears she is spitting on her dog and also hitting the animal. It is very disturbing to watch. The footage was accidentally uploaded to her account, various outlets have speculated, after Houts meant to post an altered version of her “plastic wrap prank on my doberman” video. In the shocking video, viewers see Brooke smacking the innocent pooch, who is named Sphinx, multiple times. She also screams at him and forcefully shoves the canine to the ground, all while recording something for YouTube that she meant to edit into some sort of humorous post. The footage has drawn the attention of the Los Angeles Police Department. “Our Animal Cruelty Task Force has received numerous complaints about the video, an LAPD media representative told The Verge. “And we are currently looking into the matter.” As for what may have happened here? The current version of the video, which had its comments disabled and was downvoted over 27,000 times, does NOT include any of these digusting and violent clips described above. Hence why many are assuming Houts never meant to upload the original, complete version. Following the immediate and understandable outrage over the video — which we refuse to share here — Houts issued a lengthy apology and explanation on Twitter. “I want to clarify that I am NOT a dog abuser or animal abuser in any way, shape or form,” she wrote, adding: “Anyone who has witnessed or heard true animal abuse will be able to clearly see that.” Not exactly the strongest defense, that second sentence. Continued the social media user: “I want to address the uncut footage … I’m clearly actually frustrated [in the video]. That being said, this does NOT justify me yelling at my dog in the way that I did, and I’m fully aware of that. “Should I have gotten as angry as I did in the video? No. Should I have raised my voice and yelled at him? No. “However, when my 75 lb. Doberman is jumping up in my face with his mouth open, I do, as a dog parent, have to show him that this behavior is unacceptable.” The YouTube personality also claimed that she’s working on her own behavioral issues, too. “I know I’ll be in many future situations where he’s being physical, but I will not respond this way again,” she said, continuing as follows: “I am getting my dog into training, and I’m looking at ways to improve how I personally train him at home. … I know that I am a great dog mom (but not perfect)… “I’m just explaining what my day-to-day life is really like, whether you believe me or not.” Again, can’t say any of these words makes us very sympathetic to Houts. How about you? Reaction has been swift and disparaging. Heck, even disgraced YouTube star Logan Paul had harsh words for Houts, Tweeting this message: “discipline your animals should they misbehave. i get it “but despite the hitting, the spitting is a totally unwarranted, inappropriate, and vile display of energy that makes this woman completely unfit to own that dog.” Houts, of course, says she did not spit on the dog. But, hey, it’s not any of us that she needs to convince. It’s the police.
Lisa Vanderpump is no longer a cast member on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. She left the franchise by choice, of course. Now, however, a number of Bravo viewers are now urging executives to make sure a pair of veteran reality stars follow Lisa out the door. These folks are just dying to say farewell to Kyle Richards and Teddi Mellencamp. Not long after Vanderpump confirmed she was leaving the series because she was sick of all the fighting and negativity, a change.org petition has started to make the rounds. It currently has over 3,900 signatures on it and it lays out the argument for why Richards and Mellencamp deserve to get fired. The online document was launched at the end of July and surpassed its halfway goal for signatures by August 6, making it clear that this isn’t the work of a tiny minority. There’s at least some segment of the Real Housewives fandom that believes Kyle and Teddi crossed a line with the way they treated Vanderpump this past season. “Kyle has continuously slandered Lisa Vanderpump by accusing her of leaking stories…Kyle has persistently accused Lisa with no proof whatsoever,” the petition’s creator writes. As loyal viewers know, of course, this is a reference to the scandal that became known this spring as PuppyGate . It centered around the allegation that Vanderpump leaked a story about Dorit Kemsley’s rescue puppies (from Vanderpump Dogs) ending up at a shelter after Dorit chose to give them away. Lisa ended her friendship with Kyle after the latter doubted her innocence, which the restaurateur further tried to prove by passing two lie detector tests on air. It may actually jeopardize the Beverly Hills franchise ratings. In the wake of the most recent season coming to an end, Vanderpump’s husband has also come out swinging against his wife’s former colleagues. “Their pettiness says everything. Mario Lopez has been forced to issue an apology and backtrack very quickly after controversial comments he made last month went viral just this week. The former Saved By the Bell actor and television host was a guest (for some reason) on The Candace Owens Show in June when the topic turned to how parents react when their kids express confusion over their gender. Why was Mario Lopez asked about this? We have no earthly idea. But his response has generated a significant amount of backlash. During the 40-minute interview, Owens, a conservative commentator, noted that Lopez’s son has “boyish” interests. She went on cite “a weird trend” in which some celebrities, most notably Charlize Theron, are permitting their children to choose their gender identity. ( Editor’s Note : This is not a trend by any definition of that word. Theron has said that she’s letting her adopted son live as a girl because he’s stated that is his preference … and that’s it.) “And this is strange to me,” Owens said to Lopez. “They say, ‘Oh, I looked at my child and my child was swimming in a bathtub and looked up and said, “Mommy, I’m a boy” and that’s weird.” Owens said she doesn’t think kids possess the “mental authority” to express a gender identity different than the one they were assigned at birth, a point with which Lopez basically agreed. “I’m kind of blown away, too,” replied Lopez, who recently left Extra to begin hosting Access Hollywood. He continued: “Look, I’m never one to tell anyone how to parent their kids obviously and I think if you come from a place of love, you really can’t go wrong. “But at the same time, my God, if you’re three years old and you’re saying you’re feeling a certain way or you think you’re a boy or a girl or whatever the case may be, I just think it’s dangerous as a parent to make this determination then, well, okay, then you’re going to a boy or a girl, whatever the case may be … “It’s sort of alarming and my gosh, I just think about the repercussions later on.” That last part is one reason why Lopez is now under fire. The repercussions ? Meaning what, exactly? That this boy or girl may live as a transgender individual. Is that the end of the world, Mario? Lopez, who welcomed his third child with wife Courtney Mazza this month, also Owens that his older kids don’t associate with children who are trans or gender nonbinary: “They don’t kick it with those kids.” YIKES, right? A few hours after these quotes went viral, Lopez offered up a mea culpa. “The comments I made were ignorant and insensitive, and I now have a deeper understanding of how hurtful they were,” he said, concluding as follows; “I have been and always will be an ardent supporter of the LGBTQ community, and I am going to use this opportunity to better educate myself. Moving forward I will be more informed and thoughtful.” According to a 2019 report from The Trevor Project, 1.8 percent of teenage Americans identify as transgender. More than half of transgender males under 18 report attempting suicide, while 29.9 percent of young trans women try to kill themselves. Maybe something to consider the next time celebrities make dumb, ignorant comments on the topic.
Earlier this week, a judge ruled that a Christian rapper’s copyright infringement case against Katy Perry could proceed to the trial stage. The rapper — who goes by the stage name Flame — claims that Perry’s 2013 hit “Dark Horse” is a ripoff of his song “Joyful Noise.” It’s a bit ironic, considering that title must have been used by about 40 bajiliion Christian recording artists before Flame came along, but that’s a conversation for another time. Now, you may be wondering what in the hell (pardon us, evangelical readers) all of this has to do with Jessa Duggar. Well, if you’re a fan of her family’s and you follow her husband on social media, then you might already be familiar with Flame, aka Marcus Grey. Grey is a longtime Duggar associate who was once interviewed by Jessa’s husband, Ben Seewald, on the topic of race relations in America. Ben Seewald on Racial Unrest (There was a time when Ben tried to fashion a career for himself as a media figure who asks the tough questions. The less said about that phase, the better.) “Flame has been doing Christian hip hop for many years now,” Ben told the camera. “I started listening to some of Flame’s music a little over a year ago. I really appreciated the content of his music. We actually became friends.” Ben goes on to explain that his wife later became friends with Flame, and the couple even introduced the rapper to their then-infant son, Spurgeon. “During this visit we want to kind of introduce Flame to life in the country as opposed to life in the city,” Ben said when Grey’s visit to their was captured by TLC cameras. For years now, the Duggars have been outspoken critics of secular pop culture, and they’re especially chagrinned by what they see as overly-sexualized music directed at younger audiences. In other words, they’re probably not very big Katy Perry fans. This, combined with the unusually heated nature of Flame’s court battle against Perry (The singer even offered to perform her song live in front of the judge to make her case.) has led to rumors that Katy and Jessa don’t like each other. However, while it seems very likely that Jessa dislikes Katy, it seems equally likely that Katy has no idea who Jessa is. Besides, both women have so much on their plates these days that new enemies are probably the last thing on their minds. Katy has enough feuds to keep her busy for the next few decades. Meanwhile, Jessa just welcomed her third child . So as entertaining as it would be if these two started taking shots at one another on Twitter, sadly, it’ll probably never happen. What happened on 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way looked like a cute moment, if a little dramatic. Laura whipped out a vibrator and Aladin freaked out . A funny reminder of cultural differences that could easily be overcome, right? But maybe not. After the episode aired, Aladin purged all mention of Laura from his social media. Did that episode end their marriage ? “Jiggy-jiggy” is all fun and games until somebody gets a dose of reality. Producers for 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way asked Laura and Aladin how their first night together as a married couple went. Aladin clearly had no complaints, though he was a little bashful about the details. Laura, in the mean time, is an older woman and she knows what she wants to get out of life. She revealed to the camera that it was over in just two minutes. Her disappointment in her young, hot husband was palpable. So the following night, Laura decided that it was time to surprise Aladin with one of the toys that she had wisely brought with her to Qatar. See, before she left the US, she purchased a number of sex toys that she figured would be necessary. Laura, it turns out, figured correctly. She pulled out a vibrator and asked Aladin if he knew what it was. Aladin seemed confused, and asked if it was perhaps some sort of microphone. When Laura explained what it was, however, Aladin’s move quickly changed for the worse. He was transparently offended, and acted under the mistaken belief that this was some sort of affront to his masculinity or sexual prowess. He threatened to throw away the vibrator and then departed in a huff to go for a walk to cool off. Laura was clearly shocked by his juvenile, petulant response to what should have been a sexy, educational conversation. Unfortunately, it looks like their troubles had only just begun. Maybe Aladin hadn’t heard all that was said during the episode. Maybe he was mistakenly operating under the assumption that some of the conversations on camera would not be aired. Either way, it looks like he was not prepared for when the episode featuring the vibrator incident aired. After the episode aired, Aladin purged every single photo and video that included Laura, wiping her from his Instagram. The only trace of her was a moment in a highlight reel. And that’s not all. … Aladin also shared a message to his Instagram Stories. “You can’t force someone to respect you,” the text-based message begins. The Story continues: “But you can refuse to be disrespected.” Clearly, whether it’s an issue of personal immaturity or cultural misunderstanding (or both), Aladin felt disrespected. However he felt about the original incident, seeing it play out on screen made his feelings even more strongly negative. It sounds like Laura’s suggestion that they include sex toys in their “jiggy-jiggy” time made him feel like she had dismissed him as a lover. That’s not true, of course. Laura has every right to want to have orgasms of her own. Now … is their marriage over? We don’t know for sure, but it’s worth remembering that Aladin and Laura have had arguments and blocked each other on Instagram before. Maybe this is just another spat. Back in 2017, Selena Gomez underwent a life-saving kidney transplant . The donor was her longtime friend Francia Raisa, who risked her life in a procedure riddled with complications. Thankfully, both Gomez and Raisa survived the procedure. Their friendship, on the other hand, has officially been pronounced dead. According to a new report from Radar Online, Selena and Francia have not spoken in over nine months. “They haven’t talked at all since October,” a source close to the situation tells Radar. The news comes as a shock to many, as Selena repeatedly sang Francia’s praises in the weeks after her surgery. “She gave me the ultimate gift and sacrifice by donating her kidney to me,” Gomez told Elle at the time. “I am incredibly blessed.” Selena tells the magazine she was so frail at one point that she was completely unable to perform the simplest of household tasks. “I couldn’t pick up my dog — he’s 16 pounds. That was rough. I couldn’t walk him.” Despite her brush with death, there are certain lifestyle changes that Selena simply refuses to make. For example, while many who have had issues with their kidneys choose to steer clear of alcohol and other substances that might tax the organs, Selena has proudly proclaimed that she still enjoys the occasional glass of wine. “As far as my personal life, someone sees me having a glass of wine? I could give two sh-ts,” she told Elle . “I’m not trying to hide. That’s my life.” While that’s certainly her prerogative, the folks at Radar speculate that Selena’s continued partying may have played a role in Rasia’s decision to end the friendship. Selena checked into rehab back in February, and many of her friends reportedly believe that drinking is one of the activities she should avoid for the sake of both her physical and mental wellbeing. We may never know exactly what led to the falling-out between Selena and Francia. But if Gomez was the one to pull the plug on the friendship — as is currently being rumored — we hope she can find it in heart to forgive her former friend. After all, she literally carries a piece of Raisa with her everywhere she goes.
