One thing led to another and Seth was left with a canine baked to perfection. According to BuzzFeed , the VCA Oso Creek Animal Hospital and Emergency Center confirmed that Rita had ingested THC — the chemical found in marijuana — and they kept her overnight. Though the dog made it out their high spell okay, medical officials say marijuana can still be harmful to pets. According to Pet Poison Hotline , the substance is poisonous and can cause seizures, low heart rate, low blood pressure and respiratory depression. If your dog takes a dip in the herbal essence, you should call a veterinarian or Pet Poison Helpline immediately. But in the meantime, that doesn’t mean we can’t be entertained by the done dogs. A day of near-record breaking heat in New York City led to an actual world record for the greatest consumer of hot dogs in human history. Go ahead and take a bow, Joey Chestnut. For the 11th time, the competitive eater aptly nicknamed “Jaws”came out top at the Nathan's Famous International Hot Dog Eating Contest on Wednesday… … and he didn't do it in boring or mundane fashion, either. Chestnut accomplished this feat by eating 10 hot dogs (and buns!) in 10 minutes. Yes, that is a world record. “I found a vicious rhythm,'' the 34-year-old Chestnut said after taking home the coveted Mustard Belt once again, adding: “I was feeling good today.'' That much is evident in the video above. (For the record, a judging error in this footage makes it appear as if Joey merely downed 64 hot dogs, but it was later determined that he ate 10 more than that.) Two years ago, on this same date, Chestnut set a record by eating 70 hot dogs in this same 10-minute time period. Said Joey to ESPN on Wednesday afternoon, the record safely in hand: “Seventy-four hot dogs – I've earned it. This was a beautiful day. I love to eat and I tried to enjoy the food.” It was 91 degrees at the time the competition started, source confirm, as Chestnut won by using his signature style of stuffing two frankfurters down his throat at a time. Take notes, those who wish to knock him off one day. You'll never do so by just shoving a single hot dog into your mouth at once. This is all about speed and efficiency. On the women's side, Miki Sudo, a native New Yorker by way of Japan and Hawaii, accomplished her goal to “five-pete” the competition by gobbling 37 hot dogs and water-dipped buns in 10 minutes. His name is Poncho, and Poncho will make sure you are alive and thriving thanks to his training . Madrid police posted a demonstration video of Poncho doing his thing and it has since gone viral on Twitter, receiving over 2 million views. Poncho kept jumping on his partner’s chest with his paws, then putting his dog ears against his neck until the man got back up. It’s called the Pooper Snooper and it’s only one stop away from being a crime scene investigation kit. Here’s how it works: First, let’s say your strolling along in your neighborhood thinking positive thoughts when BAM…your new pair of Nikes squash into the deep crevices of dog poop. Pissed, right! Well with Pooper Snooper you can now make a pin of your location, similar to Google Maps, and press the “add poop” button. Then, you can take a picture of the said poop and add any linear notes crucial to the crime — e.g. color, shape, smell, size, etc. Then your info will be uploaded to the app and map, so future travelers can avoid a messy situation. With enough users, the uploaded poop warnings can start a trend in a particular neighborhood, letting folks know that people don’t know how to clean up in that area. It can shame dog owners and be used as a tool for environment officers. Pooper Snooper is the new free #app that enables individuals and communities to record and monitor #dogfouling . One can only imagine the betrayal that Becca Kufrin must have felt during Arie’s brutal breakup , all captured on camera and broadcast to the world. But now, Arie is speaking up — about his decision to dump Becca and propose to Lauren. And the decision to film it. And as it turns out, Arie says that he feels betrayed — by the producers. He claims that things were “completely edited.” In a new interview with GQ , Arie tells the interviewer that he was “haunted” by the thought that, in choosing Becca, he’d allowed his soul mate to slip away. So he called Lauren on New Year’s Eve. “As soon as I heard her voice,” he says. “I knew that I had to end things with Becca.” Instead of simply breaking things off with Becca, though, Arie apparently went to producers first. He says that they were the ones who pitched bringing in cameras. Arie says that these silver-tongued producers talked him into bringing in the cameras by promising him that this was the best way to move forward. By filming it, they allegedly told him, he would be able to show the Bachelor Nation that he was just being honest to his feelings while being respectful of Becca’s. Arie says that they told him: “‘Then we can show you going back to Lauren, and people are going to rally behind you because you took this big risk and you did it for love.'” He says that the producers persuaded him by assuring him that people would be on his side. “‘At the end of the day, people will just want to see you happy.'” Obviously, very few people are invested in Arie’s happiness these days, even though he and Lauren have announced their wedding date and venue . “You’ve got to understand,” Arie tells the interviewer. “These people were my friends.” This, he says, is why he trusted them. But he now feels “100 percent” betrayed. Then, Arie has some damning words to share about the actual breakup scene with Becca. You know, the one hailed as “the first completely unedited scene in reality television history” by ABC’s promotions? Arie says that this was hogwash. “It was completely edited,” he accuses. The 40 minute segment was agonizing to watch, and he suggests that it was intended to be that way from the beginning. “I was told to stay on that couch.” We guess that we know what Arie would do if the Milgram experiment were performed today. “I tried to leave, and then production was like, ‘You need to go back inside. She’s finally calming down. I feel like you owe it to her to have this conversation.'” Good advice? Maybe not. But production’s job is to make good television, not to be your life coach. “So then I went back in the house.” He confirms that production tried to discourage him from leaving. “Yeah. I left, came back. I stepped away from the couch, I went back to the couch.” But the Bachelor Nation didn’t see that part. “They cut out, obviously, production talking to me from 10 feet away.” Arie says that, by editing out their instructions for him to remain, the resulting video “was super unfair to me.” But he does acknowledge that, you know, this is how reality television works. “It’s their job to make it entertaining for people.” It is interesting to hear that Arie is trying to cast of blame to make himself look better. Just because something was someone else’s suggestion doesn’t mean that you are blameless for doing it. Sad news out of Hollywood today, as multiple media outlets have now confirmed that actor Verne Troyer has passed away. He was just 49 years old. Troyer’s cause of his death is unknown at this time. If you’re familiar with Verne, it’s most likely because of his best-known role as Mini-Me in the Austin Powers series of films. He became a bona fide star, yet Troyer suffered a number of personal setbacks in the wake of his meteoric rise to fame. Earlier this month, Troyer was hospitalized after police were told that he was drunk and exhibiting suicidal behavior. Doctors reportedly treated him for alcohol poisoning upon his arrival. There’s no word yet on whether Troyer’s death was in any way tied to his most recent struggles. Beginning his career as a stunt double in the 1994 film Baby’s Day Out , Troyer eventually amassed almost 60 film and television credits over the course of his decades in Hollywood. But it was his role in 1999’s Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged for which the actor will best be remembered. Hamming it up as a diminutive clone of Mike Meyers’ Dr. Evil, Troyer became a fan favorite and an overnight sensation. Troyer went on to work with Meyers on two additional films, including Austin Powers in Goldmember , and he even made a brief cameo in the first Harry Potter film. Sadly, the 2000s saw a steep decline in both the actor’s career and personal life. He continued to find work in Hollywood, but now it was mostly bit parts in small-budget comedies and degrading appearances on reality TV shows. In 2015, Troyer married actress Brittney Powell, with whom he appeared on an episode of ABC’s Celebrity Wife Swap . Troyer also appeared on such short-lived reality shows as Celebrity Juice and The Surreal Life . Born with a condition known as achondroplasia dwarfism, Troyer says he was never treated differently as a child. He later revealed, though, that his condition had often made his adult life tremendously difficult. He is survived by Powell and a stepson named Tyson.
