Gwen Stefani and her band No Doubt are suing the makers of the Guitar Hero video game series. In a new lawsuit filed in LA County Superior Court, the band claims that Santa Monica-based Activision, the maker of the virtual-reality game Band Hero, has far exceeded the contractually approved use of the names or likenesses of Stefani and No Doubt band members Tony Kanal, Tom Dumont and Adrian Young. The group also claims that Activision “transformed No Doubt band members into a virtual karaoke circus act by having them sing, dance and perform over 60 songs”.
