Blacks For Trump Donald Trump has said tons of disparaging things about black people . he’s said we all live in inner cities and poverty. He said we are all violent. He wants to destroy public schools and put a buffoon in charge of HUD. yet some black people have found a way to support this man. And when they do, they get dragged for it. These black celebrities have been all over Trump and have been added to “the list” because of this.

Google is celebrating Martin Luther King, Jr Day with a special doodle and a homepage promotion of a curated collection of Civil Rights photography from the High Museum of Art in Atlanta. Today’s doodle was illustrated by African-American artist Keith Mallett, who’s created various prominent works including the official limited edition print commemorating the 50th anniversary of Jackie Robinson’s historic breakthrough into major league baseball and the cover of Chicken Soup for The African American Soul. Both Franklin Mint and Lenox Collections have created collectibles of Keith’s most popular works. His artwork can be found in many private and corporate collections throughout the world. You may notice that beneath the Google doodle there is also a link to explore photography from the Civil Rights movement. The High Museum of Art holds one of the most significant collections of photographs of the Civil Rights Movement. The works in this exhibition are only a small selection of the collection, which includes more than 300 photographs that document the social protest movement, from Rosa Parks’s arrest to the Freedom Rides to the tumultuous demonstrations of the late 1960s. The city of Atlanta—the birthplace of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.—was a hub of civil rights activism and it figures prominently in the collection. Read More HERE Keith Mallett/Google/High Museum
If you’ve been on the internet within the past month, you’ve likely stumbled across the name Jeff Sessions. If you’re like me and like to avoid words, things and people that have to do with Donald Trump, you might not know why he’s significant. Well, Sessions is a Republican senator from Alabama who President-elect Donald Trump has picked as his candidate for Attorney General. Of all the people Trump has suggested putting into positions of power, it’s Sessions’ name that has caused the most outrage. Mostly because, in addition to his anti-immigration stance, he has a reputation for being racist. In fact, according to The Washington Post, in 1986, he was denied a federal judgeship because former colleagues testified that Sessions used the n-word and joked about the Klan, saying he thought they were “okay” until he learned that they smoked marijuana. That same year when he was attempting to become a judge Coretta Scott King wrote a 9-page-letter to Congress asking that he not be nominated because he used his office to suppress the Black vote in his state. For fairly obvious reasons, Toby Keith is rarely compared to Nirvana. But there’s finally a reason to write about the country music artist and the iconic rock band in the same sentence. And that’s because Keith has a simple response to anyone giving him grief for performing this weekend at Donald Trump’s Presidential Inauguration: NO APOLOGIES! The country music star is maybe the biggest name to have signed on for this controversial event, which will take place on January 20 in Washington, D.C. Very few major acts want to be associated with the 45th President of the United States, with Keith having received a great deal of flak for agreeing to take the stage. Not that he seems bothered by the criticism. “I don’t apologize for performing for our country or military,” the artist told Entertainment Weekly late last week, explaining further: “I performed at events for previous presidents [George W.] Bush and [Barack] Obama and over 200 shows in Iraq and Afghanistan for the USO.” That is certainly one point of view. We can see how some singers out there view performing at the inauguration as a patriotic act that represents the country and the democracy more than one single man. But we can also see how many stars simply see this as an exception. We can understand their hesitance to support Donald Trump in any way, shape or form. Keith will be joined at the celebratory concert by 3 Doors Down, Lee Greenwood, Jackie Evancho , The Piano Guys and the Frontmen of Country, according to an announcement posted on the Presidential Inaugural Committee site. Broadway actress Jennifer Holliday was also scheduled to perform, but published a letter on Saturday that said she felt a need to pull put. In her statement, Holliday apologized to the LGBTQ community for agreeing to perform in the first place, calling the initial decision a “lapse of judgement.” Trump, meanwhile, is well aware that artists are refusing to take his stage. But he’s claimed on Twitter that not only isn’t he bothered by their absence… he doesn’t want them anywhere near him anyway! “The so-called ‘A’ list celebrities are all wanting tickets to the inauguration, but look what they did for Hillary — NOTHING,” Trump tweeted in December , adding: “I want the PEOPLE!” We guess Toby Keith isn’t a person, based on this line of reasoning? Trump, of course, has other things to worry about these days than who will or will not perform in D.C. later this week. Such as accusations that he really is a puppet for Russia and/or talk that he will violate the Constitution on his first day in office due to his many business conflicts. But, like Keith, Trump doesn’t seem too upset by the insults and threats being hurled his way. Nor by the lack of well-known stars who went to perform on his behalf. “Inauguration Day is turning out to be even bigger than expected. January 20th, Washington D.C. Have fun!” he recently Tweeted. Will you be attending the event? Will you be watching it on TV? Will you be boycotting Keith and/or anyone who performs at it? Or will you be lining up to purchase their records in a show of support?
Right now, reality is an extremely hard place to live in. And we have Donald Trump, soon-to-be president of the United States, to thank for a large part of that. It's just so difficult to believe, for so very many reasons, that of all the people in all the land, Trump is the one who's going to lead our country. And after his ridiculous, dumb, awful mess of a press conference a few days ago, things certainly aren't looking up. During the press conference, Trump addressed several important topics, including recent claims that he paid Russian hookers to perform for him at a very special golden shower party . To clarify, just because it's too ridiculous not to spell out in the simplest terms, our future president has been accused of paying prostitutes to pee on a bed in front of him. It's a bizarre story for some bizarre times, and thankfully, Saturday Night Live is here to point out the absurdity of the situation. And they did it just so hilariously. Alec Baldwin returned to SNL with his brilliant Trump impersonation last night to reenact the press conference. As Baldwin's Trump says in the opening of the skit, “Yes, this is really life, this is really happening.” And that's scary and tragic and so many other bad things, but this video? It sure is fun. Check out the magic below:
