Nice to see Game stepping up for those in need. The Game Donates $10,000 To Philippines Typhoon Victims We hope other celebrities will follow Game’s lead. According to Rolling Out: Compton rapper The Game has pledged to donate $10,000 to help with relief efforts in the aftermath of the deadly typhoon that recently ripped through the Philippines. “This hurts my heart knowing that many of those amongst the dead are little children,” said The Game on his Instagram page. “It is in these times where we as people of this world get the opportunity to unite with one another & give back, help, lend a hand, donate or just send prayers.” The super storm that stuck the Southeastern Asian country has as of date left over 3,500 people dead, over 1,100 missing, and over 12,000 injured. In contrast to his tough talking rapper image, The Game has continued to show up when people are in need. This latest donation is just one in a long line of charitable gestures made by the rapper, whose given name is Jayceon Taylor, through his “The Robin Hood Project” organization. TMZ broke the story … Kim and Kanye are urging friends and family members to abstain from sending baby gifts — instead, they’re asking well-wishers to send donations to the Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. Now, reps for the hospital are hailing the couple for the generous move — saying, “Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago would like to extend its sincerest gratitude to Kim Kardashian and Kanye West for their thoughtfulness and support of the hospital.” The rep continues, “Funds donated on behalf of Kardashian and West will be directed to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Fund which will help care for the most critically ill babies and their families.” “We wish them all the best in the upcoming arrival of their baby.” Aww, isn’t that sweet. The bond between Beyonce and Michelle Obama just grew a little stronger. In May, the First Lady took her daughters to a Knowles concert , a night out that followed a Tumblr post by Beyonce that praised Obama as “ULTIMATE example of a strong African-American woman.” Obama, in turn, responded to the praise with a Tweet that read: “Thank you for the beautiful letter and for being a role model who kids everywhere can look up to.” Now, Beyonce has made that letter even more public, posting a video reading of it that serves as a campaign ad for Michelle’s husband, given the donation link at the end.
