Drake VMA Performance: "Started From the Bottom," Then "Going Home" to Brooklyn

Drake’s VMAs performance saw the rap star who “Started From the Bottom” declare “Hold On, We’re Going Home” all the way to the Barclays Center. The performance, taking place on MTV’s biggest night of the year, seemed to be well received by fans. Hopefully Amanda Bynes got to watch on TV. Check out his 2013 Video Music Awards effort below: Drake MTV VMA Performance 2013 Drake channeled his newly released Nothing Was the Same album art at the onset, being shot as a profile against a backdrop of clouds (see above). The 26-year-old then ran out into the cheering crowd for most of “Started From the Bottom,” returning to the stage as fireworks blasted behind him. How did it stack up with other A-list efforts like Kanye West’s VMA performance , or Macklemore & Ryan Lewis ‘ moving “Same Love” rendition? Tell us below!

That’s Just The Motion? Drizzy And RihRih Reunite For VMA Weekend Dinner Date

Boy RihRih sure been getting around this weekend . She and Drizzy had a lil meet and greet for old time’s sake on Friday! Via Page Six reports : Drake and Rihanna reunited over dinner at Beauty and Essex Friday night. Sources said Drake, who was there with another female pal, arrived at 10 with a group of 10 and sat in back. An hour later, Rihanna came in alone. Spies said Rihanna sat across from Drake, and the group ordered a round of shots. “They were in very good spirits and were dancing and singing. Drake and Rihanna seemed to be just friends enjoying a fun night out.” Fans tried to take photos, but bouncers eventually stopped that. Rihanna and Drake, who collaborated on Drake’s song, “Take Care,” left separately, but the group left a generous $500 tip. So was the “not impressed” look during his performance the result of a less than satisfactory after-dinner performance over the weekend, her trying to throw folks off, or just being real? GSI/WENN

Shots Fired: Waffle-Toned Drizzy Drake Puts Other Rappers On Blast For Being Fake Thugs Just To Sell Records

Drizzy calls other rappers out! Drake Calls Out Rappers For Fake Thug Image Drake recently chatted with XXL mag about his new album and just because he is a rapper, Drizzy says he never felt like he had to change up his image. Aubrey calls out other rappers for faking their gangster images: “Do I think that if I didn’t have, for lack of a better term, a unique look about me, if I was from somewhere in America and if I hadn’t been on a kids TV show [Degrassi: The Next Generation], would I be as famous? I don’t know, man. Honestly, I don’t think so. I was just some young kid on a TV show. And I haven’t become anything else while I’ve been in this position. It’s not like I got here and was like, “Oh, got to switch up my image.” I don’t wake up nervous. I feel like maybe a lot of these guys do. How old are you, really? What is your background, really? What have you really done in the drug game, in the thug game?” He continued… “It’s tough for me. That’s a guy I can’t pretend not to like. He’s the guy to me, in a lot of ways. That’s Kanye West. But I’m also here to be the best. I’m here to surpass. I’m here to outdo. I’m ready for whatever with anybody.” Started from Degrassi, now he’s here.
