Chrissy: “You & Kim Must Be Sippin’ From The Same Stupid Juice!”, “Love & Hip-Hop” [RECAP]

Link:

Last night’s episode of “Love and Hip-Hop” definitely did not disappoint and brought the drama back to my Monday night television line-up, especially since there was no new episode last week. First, we see Emily and her new BFF Teairra Marie go furniture shopping for Em’s new place. While they’re shopping, Teairra gets Emily to agree to go on a blind date with her. Emily finally agreed though she keeps trying to convince herself and everyone else around her that this ISN’T a date and that she’s just accompanying a friend. I don’t know who she’s fooling, because this definitely looks like a date to me! I mean, the guy was cute and charming, and that flirtatious smirk on Emily’s face proves that deep down inside, she knew this was a date! It looks like all is well between Jimmy, Chrissy and Mama Jones as the three of them go out for a peaceful brunch together. Mama Jones tells Chrissy that she’s getting ready to make a video for her song “Psychotic” and asks Chrissy and Jimmy to star in it. Surprisingly, Chrissy doesn’t pop off at Mama Jones’ request (because I was definitely clenching my teeth and waiting for Chrissy to set it off in the restaurant) and actually finds it hilarious that she would ask them something like that. When Chrissy shows up to the video shoot, she politely tells Mama Jones that she doesn’t want to participate in the video. But that doesn’t sweat Nancy, “I roll by myself. I was born by myself, I’m gonna die by myself,”  she said. You tell ‘em Mama Jones! Chrissy and Kimbella meet up AGAIN because Kimbella still wants an apology. (When will this girl learn that Chrissy isn’t giving one?) It looks like we have a mole in the group and that mole is Olivia. At first, Olivia kept telling Kimbella to keep pressing Chrissy for an apology but then when Olivia meets with Chrissy and the other girls, she says, “Psh, Kimbella is going to KEEP asking for an apology? That’s insane!” SMH. Eventually the girls agree to make peace for the sake of their men, although Chrissy makes it clear to Kim that she is NOT sorry. Yandy also feels like she deserves an apology from Chrissy but Chrissy looks at Yandy like she’s crazy. “You’re waiting for an apology. You and Kim must be sippin’ from the same stupid juice, ’cause it’s not happening!” Hilarious! Emily has no time for their drama because she is busy helping out with Samantha Black’s Fashion Week show. She invites all the girls to the show and…Fab. And now we see why she was so adamant about her blind date not being called a date. She tells the girls that her and Fab have been secretly talking and going on a few dates. Hm…whatever makes you happy Em! What do you think about this week’s episode? T.I.’s First Post-Prison Track Is ‘Hot,’ DJ Drama Promises

Tip’s friend and collaborator tells MTV News he’s ‘excited for the fans to hear it sometime real soon.’ By Rob Markman T.I. Photo: Robyn Beck/AFP/Getty Images T.I. is almost home. On Thursday, the Trap Muzik MC will have completed his current prison bid for a probation violation that stems from a September 2010 arrest for drug possession . His longtime collaborator DJ Drama looks forward to brighter days. “Me and Tip have been friends, working together for almost a decade now, so we know what we gotta do. It’s really time to get to work and get to the music,” said Drama, who has present during T.I.’s recent recording sessions that he’s been allowed to hold since being in a halfway house. “So I’m just happy when I was in the studio with him to really see where his focus was at musically and I was excited for the fans to hear it sometime real soon.” T.I.’s imprisonment was not only a blow to the hip-hop community, but it also left a void in his hometown of Atlanta. “It’s always a good feeling,” Drama said of the prospect of having Tip free yet again. “When somebody like Tip, who is so influential in the city, isn’t around, we all feel it in a lot of ways. I look forward to it; I’m happy, man. Bottles on me.” Drama couldn’t confirm whether the Grand Hustle CEO will make an appearance at this Saturday’s taping of the 2011 BET Hip-Hop Awards in Atlanta. It would be fitting that he make his return on BET’s stage, but it’s also where T.I.’s legal drama began , when he was arrested on federal gun charges in October 2007 just hours before that year’s ceremony. The DJ, who is preparing the release of his own album, Third Power, was able to talk about Tip’s first post-prison track. The song, which is produced by rapper/producer Big K.R.I.T., was supposed to drop Monday but has not yet surfaced. “The record is hot,” Drama teased. “Big K.R.I.T. deserves it. He’s been working for a long time. So they’re both fans of each other, so sh– is definitely gonna be a nice sound for the ear.” What are you expecting from T.I.’s new music? ‘X Factor’ Will Be A Reality Show ‘On Steroids’

Creative director of Simon Cowell’s upcoming competition series tells MTV News it will be ‘like the VMAs every week.’ By Jocelyn Vena Brian Friedman Photo: MTV News Fans have been wondering for months now what to expect when Simon Cowell’s Stateside interpretation of “The X Factor” starts up on September 21. According to the Fox show’s creative director, Brian Friedman, it’s going to be … big. “Basically ‘The X Factor’ in the U.S. is every reality show you’ve [ever] seen on steroids,” he told MTV News when we caught up with him on the 2011 VMA black carpet. “It is like the VMAs every week.” Friedman — a veteran choreographer who has worked with a number of pop stars, most notably Britney Spears — has a history with “The X Factor” franchise. He not only hosted the British version for some time, but he also served as its creative director. The Fox show will step up its game week after week to ensure that it’s all about going big or going home, Friedman promised. “The performances that we do on there are boundless; there are no boundaries,” he continued. “We don’t stand inside a box. There is no right or wrong. Every rule you could possibly break in TV, [we do]. So expect to be wowed every week.” Friedman joins host Steve Jones , as well as the judges: Cowell and his former “American Idol” co-star Paula Abdul , record executive L.A. Reid and Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger “American Idol” has always had scratch-your-head-type contestants, and earlier this year Cowell confessed that he hoped to keep that spirit alive on his new show. “I love unusual people. I always say, you’ve got to embrace the madness,” Cowell laughed. “I like that we’re going to be very open-minded. I think we’re going to have good enough people on this panel that we’re not gonna miss out on anyone who’s got potential.” Will you be watching “The X Factor” when it premieres this month?
