As about 75 guests looked on, the glowing brides were married beneath an archway at the Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort outside of Phoenix. The theme was “desert elegance” in the city where Griner plays center for the three-time women’s pro basketball champion Phoenix Mercury. Johnson, a forward with the Tulsa Shock, wore a full-length, strapless champagne gown which she selected on TLC’s Say Yes to the Dress . The couple were engaged last August. In April, Brittney Griner and Glory Johnson made news after an argument at their home in Goodyear, Ariz. It was ugly, as it resulted in arrests of both for assault and disorderly conduct; Griner accepted a plea deal to enter domestic violence counseling . Johnson enrolled in counseling voluntarily. Charges against both were subsequently dismissed, and Griner issued a humbling statement: “It is never OK for an argument to turn physical.
