Child Star Lost: Troubled ‘Might Ducks’ Actor Allegedly Shoplifts Over $200 In Rite Aid Goods

Source: Nikki Nelson / WENN This Comes After Multiple Issues With Drugs & Alcohol The lovable Goldberg from the 1990s  Might Ducks franchise has found himself in trouble once again. According to TMZ , actor Shaun Weiss was arrested in November for allegedly shoplifting over $200 worth of merchandise from a Rite Aid in Los Angeles. Weiss now faces a petty theft charge and a probation violation, according to law enforcement. Weiss’ arrest comes just after he was arrested for public intoxication back in August. After friends pleaded with him to get help, Shaun finally gave in by announcing on Facebook that he was going to check into a long-term rehab center in August. He wrote, “At this time, in an effort to break free from the self destructive patterns of behavior and drug abuse that have landed me at rock bottom, (to be real… BELOW rock bottom. Even rock bottom is like ‘holy sh!t, how’d you get all the way down there?’) I have checked in to a well regarded, long term rehabilitation center.” He continued, “I have surrendered to the reality that without immediate treatment my life is in eminent danger.” There’s no telling if Shaun actually checked into rehab or how long he stayed if he did. However, considering his recent bust, some personal issue must still not be resolved. According to Shaun’s longtime friend Marni, his downward spiral dates back to his father’s death three years ago. Since then, Marni says Shaun has abused drugs and has hung out with the wrong crowd. Last year, Shaun was arrested for possession of meth and for stealing once again. Shaun gained childhood acting success when he played Greg “Goldie” Goldberg in all three Might Ducks movies. He also appeared in cult classics like Heavyweights and a bunch of sitcoms throughout the ’90s and early 2000s. He hasn’t found steady work for a couple of years now. A friend told TMZ that they’re “hoping for the best” for him.

Lil Xan: I Don’t Want to End Up Like Mac Miller But I Can’t Quit Drugs!

It’s a frightening time for young celebrities, as an epidemic of addiction and substance abuse is claiming lives in Hollywood at an astonishing rate. Over the course of the past year, a number of promising lives have been lost or forever changed by opioids and other prescription pills, and it seems that there’s no solution to the problem in sight. In July, Demi Lovato’s near-fatal overdose left fans praying for the singer’s recovery. ( Lovato recently celebrated 90 days of sobriety.) The death of Mac Miller in September stunned the hip-hop world and left many of his fellow artists thinking twice about lyrics and lifestyles that glorify substance abuse. One such artist is Lil Xan. Lil Xan Talks Drugs Xan is so steeped in modern hip-hop drug culture that his stage name is a reference to his former substance of choice. The 23-year-old recently opened up to TMZ in a surprisingly candid new interview in which he discusses his conflicted feelings toward drugs and the music that glorifies them. The rapper says he’s kicked his addiction to Xanax, but is still “weaning” himself away from other pills. In the interview, Xan reveals that he sold drugs before making it big in music. But he also insists he was a drug dealer with a conscience and quit dealing when the often-fatal Fentanyl hit the scene. “My friends were taking it; they were puking. I was like I can’t … I’m out the game,” Xan says of his decision to retire from dealing and focus on music. Xan says that like Demi, he’s capable of long periods of sobriety, but notes that he is currently off the wagon. “I relapsed, and that’s common … Any other addict would understand that sh-t just happens,” he tells TMZ. “You just relapse. You don’t want to. It’s a process. You need treatment and help, and sometimes that doesn’t even help.” “It has to come from within. That’s what I’ve learned,” Xan says. “I’ve gone periods of like six months clean of everything. And that was because of me. I wanted to be clean.” When the interviewer states that Xan is “clean now,” he corrects her: “I’m not completely clean. Off Xanax, yes, but I’m still weaning off Norcos [a brand of codeine-based painkiller],” he says. Xan says he is currently not in rehab, but is living in seclusion “in the forest.” He adds that he plans to remain in hiding until the release of his upcoming album, which he has described as a tribute to his “hero,” Mac Miller. We wish Lil Xan all the best in his recovery. View Slideshow: 31 Celebrities Who Have Been to Rehab

Ryan Edwards: Did the Teen Mom OG Reunion Prove He’s Back on Heroin?

You know how Mackenzie Standifer is pretty much the most hated person on Teen Mom right now? Yeah, that reunion special didn't really help things much. In both the first and second parts of the reunion, Mackenzie came on with Ryan Edwards to talk about his drug addiction and his coparenting relationship with Maci Bookout. If you watched, then you know Mackenzie did most of the talking while Ryan sat beside her with those wild eyes of his. They claimed a bunch of different things in their segments, but when you compile all the stories together, one thing becomes clear. There seems to be a very, very small chance that Ryan is actually clean these days. 1. Lots and Lots of Drugs As you’ve probably heard, Ryan was dealing with a pretty severe heroin problem last year. He was shooting up, Mackenzie claimed he was spending around $10,000 a week on his habit, and at one point last spring he was even arrested. 2. Turning Things Around But after nodding off while driving himself and his bride to their first wedding, he went off to rehab for a few weeks. Yep, just a few weeks — he checked out early, and after he did, he was seen knocking back beers and badmouthing Maci. Not a great look for someone in his position. 3. It’s All Maci’s Fault But as soon as Ryan came home from rehab, he and Mackenzie both felt comfortable putting so much blame for everything on Maci. She triggered him into doing heroin, she knew he was doing heroin and didn’t directly discuss it with the people who lived with him and saw him regularly, so basically Ryan’s entire drug problem was her fault. Because that makes sense. 4. … Come On They slammed Maci for refusing to let Ryan spend time with their son until he was able to pass a drug test, and they even made fun of her for admitting that she’d cried many times over Ryan — because to them, that meant she was still in love with him, not that she was afraid her son’s father could die. 5. Hmmm Then, leading up to the season finale, Ryan began acting strangely — he seemed depressed about Mackenzie’s pregnancy news, telling her to call him when the kid turned three and even suggesting at one point that they separate for the duration of her pregnancy. He also complained of feeling sick, being very cold, and needing to lie down throughout her ultrasound. 6. Oh, Ryan … Considering all these things together, many Teen Mom fans became convinced than Ryan had relapsed. He may have been irritable because he’d rather be getting high, he was feeling sick because it had been too long since he’d doone drugs, that kind of thing. View Slideshow

Mackenzie Standifer: Is She Divorcing Ryan Edwards?!

There’s been a seriously overwhelming amount of drama going down with Ryan Edwards this week, huh? It’s all been very interesting, but once you remember that he’s a real person with a real family and not just a character on a television show … Well, it gets a whole lot more depressing, we’ll say that much. To recap, Ryan was arrested earlier this week at his home in Chattanooga for violating his probation — because oh yeah, he was also arrested last year. Unlike Mackenzie Standifer — or as Maci Bookout likes to call her, “his snake of a wife” — said, he was arrested last March, not last April, for simple possession of heroin. He was pulled over and found with the drugs and with some needles, which is definitely not legal, so boom, arrested. After that, he was put on probation, and a few reports have been claiming that he was required to take regular drug tests, but he missed his test this week, which was why he got arrested this time around. This part still doesn’t make total sense, because if he was getting regular drug tests anyway, why would such a big plot point in this season of Teen Mom OG be about him failing to take a test to see Bentley ? Anyway, he was arrested, and whatever the exact reason, it’s not good news. Also this week, there was another Tinder scandal — a woman came forward with screenshots of a flirtatious exchange she had with him, just like last time . And in the middle of all this, it was revealed that Ryan and Mackenzie are expecting their first child together . See what we mean when we said this was an overwhelming amount of drama? And to think, it’s already getting a whole lot worse. As we said, Mackenzie made a statement in which she claimed that Ryan’s arrest was nothing to be worried about, that it was just a sort of follow-up arrest from the heroin thing that happened last spring. According to her, he still needed to be booked an entire year later, and that’s why cops showed up to their house, handcuffed him, and got him that cute mug shot. It didn’t really make sense, but we just assumed it was a lie — even if it wasn’t, in saying that he was arrested last spring before their wedding, she showed she was lying about the timeline of his drug use. Who could forget that insane letter she read to Maci at the last reunion special, the one where she claimed she had no idea that Ryan was doing drugs until their wedding in May, two whole months after he was arrested? We’re getting off track though. The point is, Mackenzie made a point to tell us all that “everything is fine,” when obviously things are the opposite of fine. And now, according to a new report from Radar Online, things seem to be so far from fine that she’s left Ryan. A source close to her told the site that “Mackenzie boarded a flight to go to New York yesterday without Ryan.” Not only that, but “she left her son during her scheduled time” to do so — she gets adorable little Hudson from Friday to Tuesday, and his father has him the other days. Radar says that Mackenzie herself confirmed to them that she’s in New York, but she didn’t offer any additional details. Could it be possible that she’s finally realizing how bad her situation is? That perhaps it wasn’t the best idea to be impregnated by an intravenous drug user who’s been trying so hard to cheat on her? Could she be filming an additional little something for the show now that so much has happened? Or are we way off — maybe she’s finding a dress for a third wedding Ryan won’t be sober for. Whatever’s going on, we hope everything’s all right. But considering the circumstances, that does seem like a pretty high hope. Bobby Brown Says He Thinks A Broken Heart, NOT Drugs, Took Whitney Houston Out

Bobby Brown Doesn’t Believe Whitney Had Drugs In Her System When She Died Bobby Brown isn’t so sure about reports on the cause of Whitney Houston’s death. As the 49-year-old singer told Rolling Stone this month, despite reports that Whitney had everything from cocaine to Xanax in her system…the singer believes emotional distress played a much bigger role in sending her to the afterlife than any drug ever could. In fact…he doubts there were drugs in her bloodstream at all: This month marks the sixth anniversary of Whitney’s death. What do you think was the most misunderstood thing about her? Um … whoa [long pause] – I don’t think she died from drugs. You don’t? No, not at all. What do you think it was? She was really working hard on herself to try to be a sober person and, um [pauses] she was a great woman. When you say you don’t think she died of drugs, do you mean you don’t think there were drugs in her system at the time? Yes. [Alicia Etheredge-Brown, wife and manager, interjecting]: There were drugs in her system. Well, I don’t think so. [Etheredge-Brown]: You feel that other things played a part … That played a part. Yes. What do you attribute her death to if it wasn’t drugs? Just being broken-hearted. Interesting. Bobby didn’t elaborate exactly why he felt her heart would be broken, or who would have such a vested interest in going to great lengths to make the world believe she overdosed…but he seems pretty resolute that there’s more to the story. And when it comes to the death of his daughter with Whitney, Bobbi Kristina, he feels that justice will only be served when Nick Gordon…well, we’ll just let you read it: What does justice look like to you? Justice? If he was locked up somewhere where somebody can rape him. That’s just how I feel. He raped me by taking my daughter away. Well, as a father, you truly can’t blame him for feeling that way. What do you think of Bobby’s thoughts on the deaths of his loved ones? Splash/Getty/WENN Continue reading
