The Duggars Call Easter a Different Name and Celebrate in Weird Duggar Fashion

On Sunday, millions of Americans gathered with loved ones to celebrate the resurrection of a towering figure who many believe to be the foretold savior of mankind. We’re talking, of course, about Jon Snow. But in addition to one of the final Game of Thrones nights, yesterday was also significant because it was Easter … or as the Duggars call it, Resurrection Day. Yes, the Duggars like to keep the focus on JC during their holiday festivities (and during everything else they do in life, to be honest). And so, Easter becomes Resurrection Day and Christmas is Jesus’ birthday. (We’re pretty sure their kids would have gotten the point of the celebration without the name change, but whatever floats your ark.) Anyway, Michelle spoke about the family’s celebration in 2014, just months before the Josh Duggar sex scandals led to the cancelation of her first reality show, 19 Kids and Counting. “We call it ‘Resurrection Day’ because we really want to make the focus and emphasis on the fact that it’s the resurrection of Jesus Christ,” Michelle explained at the time. It seems that in most ways, the Duggar festivities resemble those you would find in many homes across America. “We sing songs, we draw pictures of the cross, and we make cookies,” the mother of 19 added. “We will make cookies and decorate them, and then we memorize little verses,” she adds. Okay, so Easter isn’t really a cookie-baking, song-singing occasion for most of us, but the whole thing sounds pretty normal by Duggar standards … until you get to the pickles. Apparently, each of the Duggar children gets a jar of pickles in their Easter basket. “The Duggars love pickles. I think it probably started that when my mom is pregnant she craves pickles, that is the one thing,” Jessa Duggar once told In Touch . “Every time we see her eating pickles we say ‘Are you pregnant?’”  It gets weirder. Joy-Anna revealed that when a Duggar takes his or her first bite of a pickle, it’s considered a monumental event. “Any time a family member tries a pickle for the first time, we always go around and take videos and pictures and everyone comes around to watch their facial expression,” she said. Oof. We’re sure Freud would have a field day with a family who’s so uptight about sex being obsessed with pickles, but we’re gonna leave it alone. Anna Duggar: Unrecognizable In SHOCKING Weight Loss Photo!

Usually, when there’s some controversy surrounding Anna Duggar’s social media presence, it has to do with fans being upset that the reality star is still married to Josh Duggar, despite their admonishments to divorce him. This time, however, Anna’s followers were stunned to see the mother of five looking like a completely different woman. Yes, believe it or not, that’s Anna on the far right. The photo was posted by Jana Duggar in celebration of a visit from her longtime friend, Laura DeMasie, who recently relocated from Arkansas to Georgia. Given all the speculation about Jana and Laura’s relationship (It’s long been rumored that the two are more than friends.), you might think that the comments section would’ve been loaded with innuendo. Instead, all eyes were on Anna as fans marveled at her physical transformation. “I thought that was a relative of Anna’s. Looks like her but also doesn’t,” wrote one fan. “Anna is tall and she looks different in this pic!” commented another. “Why does this not look like Anna?! Haha!! She looks like a high schooler! Not a bad thing at all,” a third pointed out. We’re sure Anna is beaming at all the complimentary comments. For once, there was no significant trolling on a Duggar social media post, which is a nice change of pace. There was, however, one big question on the minds of many commenters: What’s Anna’s secret to shedding the pounds so quickly after birthing five children? Unfortunately, it looks as though fans might be disappointed to learn there’s no magic bullet solution at work here. In fact, as far as we can tell Anna’s path to weight loss consisted mainly of increased physical activity, primarily walking. We first caught a glimpse of Anna’s new physique last month, and it seems the slimming down has only continued since then. Also around that time, Anna revealed her workout regimen , which led many hopeful fans to speculate that she was preparing to leave Josh and re-enter the singles scene. That hasn’t proven to be the case, but Anna has inspired fans by proving that it’s possible to lose the extra pounds without dramatically altering one’s lifestyle. Anna set a goal of walking 50 miles in the month of February. She exceeded that milestone by 5 miles, and kept the initiative going with her “March Through March” campaign. Clearly, all that hard work is paying off — and as a bonus, if Anna does decide to leave Josh she’s all ready to dive back into the dating pool. Just sayin’. Jinger Duggar: Has She REALLY Been Disowned By Her Parents?!

For years now, Jinger Duggar has been considered the resident rebel of the Duggar family. Now obviously, the Duggars have a very different standard for what’s considered rebellious behavior. Jinger never took up smoking or went through a goth phase, but nevertheless, insiders say her parents were quite chagrined by her actions. Shortly after marrying Jeremy Vuolo, Jinger started wearing pants in violation of her family’s strict dress code. (Jim Bob and Michelle dictate what sort of clothing their daughters are allowed to wear until such time as that responsibility gets passed on to the girls’ husbands.) Then she further alienated her parents by waiting a full year after her wedding to get pregnant, which led to rumors that Jinger was using birth control — a major no-no in the Duggars’ world. (It’s customary for Duggar couples to start families as soon as possible after marriage.) Fans of Counting On know that Jim Bob was skeptical of Jeremy from the start due to some crucial theological differences and the fact that he and Jinger planned to relocate to Laredo, Texas after tying the knot. But there were rumors that tensions between Jeremy, Jinger, and her parents had eased a bit after the Vuolos welcomed a child. Now, however, the situation has reportedly deteriorated yet again. The Vuolos recently revealed that they’re moving to Los Angeles — a development that Jinger’s ultra-conservative parents are understandably not pleased with. “In recent days, God has made it overwhelmingly clear to us that he is leading us out of Laredo,” the couple wrote on their blog last week. “Through much prayer and counsel, the next step for our family is to relocate to Los Angeles to attend Grace Community Church as Jeremy pursues graduate studies at The Master’s Seminary. “Leaving Laredo this July will be one of the hardest things we’ve ever done; our friends here have become like family,” Jinger and Jeremy concluded.   Jinger’s parents were reportedly shocked by the news, and it’s been widely rumored that they found out about it the same way as the rest of us — through the Vuolos’ blog. Insiders say this added insult to injury, and the situation has resulted in rumors that Jinger’s parents have gone so far as to disown her . There’s little in the way of evidence to this effect, but the rumor has gained traction in the Duggar-themed message boards of Reddit, largely due to Jim Bob and Michelle’s failure to comment publicly on the Vuolos’ move west. Obviously, if it is the case that Jinger’s parents have cut ties with her, the entire family will go to great lengths to keep the situation under wraps. That’s just the standard Duggar response to any scandal. And unfortunately, the distance between the two families will make it easier to do so. In fact, we may have to wait until the next major holiday to gauge whether or not there’s any bad blood between Jinger and her ultra-strict parents. But the truth is sure to come out eventually. Duggar Girls Announce Swimwear Line For Fundamentalists: You Don’t Have to Flash Your Knees to Be Sexy!

The women of the Duggar clan aren’t exactly known for their fashion sense. After all, until Jinger Duggar rebelled and started wearing pants  in 2017, all of Jim Bob and Michelle’s daughters rocked floor-length denim skirts and sported the long, Little House on the Prairie Without a Supercuts  hairstyle favored by their mother. Part of the reason for this is that the Jinger and her sisters are required to observe the strictures of “modest” dress at all times. Of course, the Duggars are an outdoorsy crew, which has led many to wonder what the women and girls do when they play sports or go to the beach. As we learned when Joy-Anna Duggar lifted weights  in a skirt with sweatpants underneath, the answer is — they improvise. But in the past two years, the Duggar sisters have become more independent and less fearful in their fashion choices. So perhaps it should come as no surprise that Jana, Jill, Jessa and the rest of the J-squad have launched a business venture in hopes of providing an option to women who share their passions for evangelicalism and physical activity. Introducing Dugkini — a swimwear line designed by the Duggar women and launched on the family website this afternoon. A blog post credited to Jill and Jessa promises a look for every shape, and assures fans that when they’re rocking Dugkini there will always be three sets of footprints in the sand — one for you, one for the lord and savior JC, and one for bae, who’s sure to be close by your side when you’re sporting these designs! Obviously, the Duggar gals faced some unique challenges that most swimwear designers are not forced to grapple with. Namely, how to offer contemporary beach fashions without condemning your customers to an eternity in the fiery depths of hell. “Just in time for summer, it’s the swimsuit that’ll make you the talk of your youth group trip to the Lake of the Ozarks,” the Duggar girls write. “Sure, most swimwear designers might think it’s perfectly ‘groovy’ to flash your ankles up and down the beach like you’re Audrey Hepburn or Rita Hayworth (both of whom are currently sizzling on Satan’s rotisserie, btw), but we think it’s important to remember that you are responsible for the impure thoughts of the men in your life,” the post continues. “So if you like your summers hot but your afterlives much more temperate, grab yourself a Dugkini and say, ‘Get behind me, Satan — but do not gaze thine eyes upon my backside while you’re back there.” We’re sure the Duggar girls struggled with the possibility that their husbands might feel threatened by their ability to earn money, but it seems they ultimately decided that helping America’s harlots and floozies cover their sinful hides was more important. Jinger Duggar & Jeremy Vuolo: We’re Moving To Los Angeles!

West coast here they come!! Jinger Duggar and husband Jeremy Vuolo are waving goodbye to Laredo, Texas and hello to Los Angeles, California. Fans have been predicting the big move for quite a while now and well, it is finally happening.  “In recent days, God has made it overwhelmingly clear to us that he is leading us out of Laredo,” the couple told People  in an interview. “Through much prayer and counsel, the next step for our family is to relocate to Los Angeles to attend Grace Community Church as Jeremy pursues graduate studies at The Master’s Seminary.”  At least fans and father Jim Bob can rest well knowing they have already checked off the most important bullet point on their to-do list, finding their new church home.  “As excited as we are to begin this new adventure, leaving Laredo this July will be one of the hardest things we’ve ever done; our friends here have become like family,” they said.  “Please pray for us as we both open this new chapter of our lives.”  After Jinger and Jeremy’s wedding in November of 2016, they packed up their bags (& bibles) and moved from the Duggar family home in Arkansas to Laredo, Texas .  After being settled in the Lone Star State for a year, the duo welcomed their first child together, daughter Felicity Nicole on July 19, 2018.  “God is so kind,” Jeremy said in a statement at the time of the birth of quite possibly the cutest Duggar baby. But you didn’t hear that from me.  “Both mom and baby are healthy, doing great and resting well. We are very thankful for her safe arrival and look forward to life as parents!” Vuolo added. And now the cute little family is ready to ride the wave to their new home. The reality star and the former pro soccer player have already found a few places they love in their new neighborhood.  During a recent trip to SoCal, they documented their time spent at The Getty art museum, the Huntington Library Botanical Gardens, and Steeple House coffee shop.  Imagining a Duggar in La La Land is honestly pretty comical.  But if anyone can do it, it’s definitely the one who first decided to  break family tradition and wear pants !  And besides, Jinger has already relocated out of Arkansas, making her clearly the most interesting and rebellious Duggar child.  Jim Bob was not thrilled with their decision to flee their home the first time, according to insiders.  Some even say he holds a grudge towards Jeremy , so we can’t even imagine how angry he is now.  Either way, Jinger has no time for negative vibes — she’s got lots of packing to get to!   We can’t wait to watch their big move play out on future episodes of TLC’s  Counting On and   we also can’t wait to watch little Felicity grows up as a somewhat native Cali girl.  We think she will have quite a different upbringing than her mother did back on the family farm in Arkansas.  Maybe she will be a pro surfer, or an actress or a photographer?!  The possibilities are endless for the Vuolo fam.  * Cue California Dreamin’ * View Slideshow: Jinger Duggar Asserts Her Independence: I’m a Vuolo Now!

Michelle Duggar: Does She Even Know How to Cook?

For years, fans of the Duggar family have wondered just how much parenting Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar do in a given day. We know that’s an odd question to ask of a couple who’s raised 19 children, and the obvious answer would seem to be “a lot.” But over the years, Jim Bob and Michelle have spent a lot of time traveling and tending to their many business ventures while their household seemingly ran itself. But it didn’t run itself, of course. A tremendous amount of work went into clothing and feeding so many children — but much of it was done by the Duggar children themselves. Much has been made of how many chores Jana Duggar seems to do around the home, but she’s certainly not alone. All of the older Duggars help out around the house, especially in the kitchen. In fact, some fans claim there’s evidence that Michelle hasn’t done any cooking of her own in years. Indeed, it’s difficult to find any indication that Michelle spends much time in the kitchen these days. Though to be fair, she’s admitted in the past that it wouldn’t be possible to feed such a large brood if everyone didn’t pitch in. “Some of the boys are really good cooks. They have lots of fun getting in there and being creative,” Michelle once wrote in a blog post. “We usually have teams of three or four kids that’ll work together on the cooking. … There’s a leader and then the rest of them follow the instructions of the leader.” In the same post, Michelle went into detail regarding the challenges of grocery shopping for such a sizable family. “Our goal for our monthly food budget is $3,000. It used to be more like $2,000, but we’ve noticed the costs of groceries have gone up,” she wrote.  “For groceries, we mainly shop at discount grocery stores, warehouse clubs and co-ops. You can save thousands of dollars by doing just that,” she added. “We buy mostly in bulk and stock up once a month on staples like butter, cereal and oats–it’s just cheaper.” Michelle says that out of necessity, she does all of the grocery shopping, as budgeting remains a challenge, even as the older kids leave the house and start families of their own. As for the actual cooking, Michelle admits to receiving a considerable amount of help from her offspring. And tellingly, she’s dodged questions about whether she knows how to cook at all. Fans have made much of the Duggars’ bizarre dinner concoctions over the years, with descriptors such as “prison food” being thrown about frequently. So is it possible that such odd combinations as barbecue sauce and canned tuna are a result of the fact that no one in the house really knows their way around a kitchen? Vicki Gunvalson is eager to keep her role on  The Real Housewives of Orange County , and everyone else is paying the price. But though she’s reportedly  a holy terror on set , Vicki wants fans to know that her private life is peaceful and happy. That’s why she’s flaunting her boyfriend, Steve Lodge. That relationship is what saved her career. Vicki Gunvalson shared this photo of her with boyfriend Steve Lodge. The two had a romantic evening on Saturday, March 2. In addition to flaunting their love on Instagram, Vicki included a caption for context. “Date night with my man @stevelodge_oc after filming,” Vicki writes. She then included the hashtags: “#rhoc #bravo #season14.” Clearly, Vicki wants to make  certain  that everyone knows that she saved her job. Vicki’s relationship with Steve has certainly provided entertainment so far. But she nearly lost her role on the show because she didn’t have a real storyline to offer for this season. Vicki went through weeks of negotiations, missing filming, before her attorneys finally convinced Bravo that she can bring the entertainment factor. But reports sayt hat Vicki made some major promises. It’s said that Steve will have to propose to her during this season. If what we’ve heard is true, Vicki has promised to deliver a dramatic proposal and a wedding to keep herself interesting and relevant. But Vicki isn’t planning to rely solely upon her relationship status to keep her on the show. She’s determined to avoid being demoted to a “Friend” this season — or on any other season. As a result, she’s been bombarding her castmates and so-called friends with endless drama. “Vicki has been a total pain in the ass during the first few filming sessions that she has been back on set,” a source claimed. “She is throwing temper tantrums,” the insider elaborated. “And starting fights.” Vicki is doing this “because she is terrified of getting booted from the show.” “She knows that she has to bring the drama,” the source explained. “And she’s been doing just that.” Why did Vicki, the longest reigning Housewife in the franchise, have such an uphill battle to keep her gig? For one thing, she just didn’t have a storyline. Now, thanks to her romance with Steve Lodge, she does. The other big factor for producers was apparently Vicki’s spreading of rumors that Kelly Dodd is some sort of coke fiend. Drama makes for good television, but there are lines. And for Vicki, who has spread rumors about Eddie Judge and David Beador in the past, it was part of a pattern. Was Vicki right to grovel and promise huge relationship milestones to keep her job? Who knows, honestly — we can only be certain of things like this in hindsight. But some are saying that she should have followed NeNe Leakes’ example. NeNe was once demoted to “Friend” of the Housewives, so she just sat out that season. When ratings bombed, NeNe returned with a hefty pay raise and with producers too terrified to risk demoting her again any time soon. Would the same trick have worked for Vicki? Who can say? Jill Duggar: Why Is She Hated By Counting On Fans?

At first glance, Jill Duggar appears to be about as completely innocent and innocuous as any human being can be. Jill is a young mother of two with a husband in law school. She used to make big bucks as a reality star, but these days, she’s a stay-at-home mom who occasionally supplements her family’s income by working as a midwife . But as with just about everything involving the Duggar family, there’s more to Jill than meets the eye. And a lot of what’s just beneath the surface is the sort of stuff that the Duggars would probably prefer to keep out of the spotlight. Jill is one of the least well-liked members of the Duggar family. You may have had the experience of wandering into the comments section on one of Jill’s Instagram posts and wondering why she’s so widely despised. As it happens, there’s no one answer to that question. The biggest problem for many fans is that Jill stuck by her husband after he was kicked off of the family’s reality show. Derick was fired from Counting On for launching a transphobic tirade against fellow network star Jazz Jennings. Jill not only refused to speak out against her husband’s bigotry, she also quit the show as a gesture of solidarity, leaving her family with no visible means of support. It’s not hard to see why many fans may have been chagrined by that decision. But it’s certainly not the only reason that so many fans are so unforgiving of Jill. Many fans take issue with Jill’s method of homeschooling her children. These people point out that the mother of two continues to rely on materials provided by the Institute for Basic Life Principles. The curriculum has been heavily criticized in the past for a number of reasons, not the least of which is that children are taught that sexual assault victims are often to blame for their perpetrators’ crimes. This is an especially disturbing teaching in the Duggar family, which has been beset by numerous sex scandals . Others who criticize Jill’s parenting focus on what they say is the lack of proper nutrition in her household. Jill is famously averse to including vegetables in the meals she prepares. Incidents such as the time she and her kids walked several miles to a Chick-Fil-A location highlight the importance of junk food in her children’s lives. Jill has also been criticized for her housekeeping, and in the past, she has not shied away from sharing photos of her “messy” home on social media. It’s possible that fans are right to be concerned about Jill’s parenting methods and belief system. But it’s just as possible that this is just a case of too much social media scrutiny combined with a widespread bias against her family. Derick Dillard: Driving Away the Duggars’ Closest Friends?

Earlier today, we explored the question of why Jill Duggar is hated by so many Counting On viewers. Now, it’s time to answer the much simpler question of why Duggar fans are so often critical of Derick Dillard. As you’re probably aware, Derick was fired from Counting On  back in 2017 after launching a bigoted bullying campaign against fellow TLC star Jazz Jennings. Needless to say, many fans of the Duggar clan were not terribly thrilled by the situation. And it seems some of Jim Bob and Michelle’s closest friends also took issue with Derick’s behavior on social media. For over a decade, the Duggars have been close friends with the Bates family, stars of WeTV’s Bringing Up Bates . Like the Duggars, the Bates are a massive evangelical clan whose unorthodox belief system and penchant for extreme breeding practices earned them a basic cable reality show. The Bates never became as popular as the Duggars — but they’re also considerably less problematic. The Bates share the Duggars’ ultra-conservative belief system, but it seems they draw the line at public expressions of bigotry, such as Derick’s campaign against Jazz. As many Reddit users have now pointed out, several members of the Bates family used to follow Derick on Twitter and Instagram. Now, it looks as though the entire family has unfollowed Derick. “The shunning begins,” wrote one viewer. “The Bates family have unfollowed Jill and Derick. Individual accounts unfollowing just Derick, meanwhile Ben unfollowed him, who’s next?” “For as much as they probably agree with what he’s saying, at some point, they don’t want to be responsible for negative attention that this will invariably draw,” another fan remarked. While it’s likely true that the Bates were not personally offended by Derick’s views, it seems they’ve decided to distance themselves from the controversial law school student. But despite the reports to the contrary, the Bates have not entirely cut ties with the Duggars. Insiders claim Jim Bob and Michelle are as close as ever with Gil and Kelly Bates. In fact, the couples have reportedly made plans to celebrate their next wedding anniversaries together. So it seems that the Bates decided that they’d like to remain close with the Duggars while completely severing ties with Derick. Offset: Couples Counseling Saved My Marriage to Cardi B!

Now that they’re back together, Offset doesn’t want to lose Cardi B again . But it takes more than expert pipe-laying and avoiding groupies to make a relationship truly successful. Offset explains that he and Cardi are in marriage counseling to keep their  In a new interview on “The Breakfast Club,” Offset opened up about his desire to not upset Cardi. When asked if he was afraid of losing her again, he replies: “For sho! Yeah!” But he explains that the two of them are working through their challenges. “You gotta go through steps and different things so we can grow,” he reasons. And one tool has been majorly helpful in helping them to process their relationship: marriage counseling. But don’t expect to see Offset and Cardi B appear on Marriage Boot Camp: Celebrity Edition any time soon. “Not on the TV though,” Offset clarifies. “Real behind the scenes.” He explains that he and his wife are working on “getting to know each other.” As has been demonstrated time and time again, reality television is an okay place to meet someone, but a terrible place for relationship growth. Real marriage counseling, Offset explains, is “getting to know who you’re with and appreciate them all the way around.” Charlemagne the God then asks for clarification: Did Offset and Cardi finish with their marriage counseling? Is everything fixed now? Offset replies that no, it’s really more of a process. He and his wife are “Working through it,” Offset answers. “Gotta work, gotta keep,” Offset emphasizes. “Don’t stop … we’re young, man.” In other words, he’s serious about staying with his wife, and that means that he doesn’t want to be complacent or just rely upon wishful thinking. Of course, the primary impetus behind Offset and Cardi B’s separation last year wasn’t some sort of mystery. It also wasn’t an emotional death by a thousand cuts.  Offset was banging other women. Cardi had just brought Kulture into this world, but she gave her cheating husband the boot. There are women in this world who would be happy to have a rich rapper husband who sleeps around. Cardi, one of the most talented women on the planet, is not one of them. Offset was very lucky, because Cardi decided to give him a second chance. Their reunion brought mixed reactions from fans. First of all, some had felt that Cardi was always out of Offset’s league. That’s … really between her and Offset. Secondly, Cardi was very blunt about why she was giving him a second chance. After their first reunion, she explained that his dick game was out of this world and that she had missed it too much. Finally, a lot of fans fear that Cardi truly believes that Offset is the only man who could truly love Kulture as a father. Obviously, that is untrue. But what fans think — and we say this in the nicest way possible — doesn’t really matter. What we think doesn’t really matter. This is about Cardi and Offset.
