One of the youngest — and most talented — “Idol” contestants, she was inked to RCA Records in 2004 and released Blue Skies, a glossy pop album she had little creative control over (in a recent interview , she complained that RCA ignored her suggestions about songwriting partners almost entirely) and one that effectively ended her career.

Lady Gaga Delivers Smashing AMA Performance

It takes a lot to upstage Lady Gaga live, which tells you a lot about the Adam Lambert AMA performance Sunday night. He actually relegated Lady G to #2 on the list of buzzed-about, flamboyant American Music Awards performances! That’s not to suggest Gaga didn’t bring the crazy as always. In a flesh-colored bodysuit wrapped with white piping, she performed a smashing (in more ways than one) medley of her hits “Bad Romance” and “Speechless.” After “Bad Romance,”she segued into “Speechless” by using her mic stand to bust open a glass box with a piano inside.
