Daylight Saving Time. It’s finally over, people. Almost. This weekend, it’s time to turn the clocks back, and for Americans looking forward to a long, dark winter, it’s a thing of beauty. Okay, that’s no one. Hey, at least you get an extra hour of sleep tonight! Unless you have kids or pets who have no idea what’s up, in which chase, forget that too. Anyway, Daylight Saving Time remains inherently confusing for some people, which is why is THG is here to break it down for you and get you through it. See helpful graphic above. BOOM. If that’s not sufficient, here’s everything you need to know about the end Daylight Saving Time 2013, and what to expect with Daylight Saving Time 2014: Daylight Saving Time officially began on Sunday, March 10 at 2 a.m. Time “springs” forward then and “falls” back one hour now (above). Set your clocks ahead an hour before you go to bed this evening. OR stay up until 2 a.m., turn the clocks to 1 a.m. and hit the sack. Your iPhone should do this automatically. Your oven? No dice. This could mean an extra hour of sleep Sunday morning. Nice! Unless you have kids who just sleep the same amount regardless. At least it starts getting dark at 4:30 on the East Coast now. Yay? The concept of Daylight Saving Time dates way back to 1895. It was recently extended across the U.S. to save energy use. In 2014, Daylight Saving Time begins on Sunday, March 9. If you can’t figure out how to change the effing clock in your car, don’t worry. Just make a mental (or Post-It) note that it’s an hour fast until 3/9. Despite persistent rumors that Eddie Cibrian and LeAnn Rimes’ marriage is in serious trouble, a statement from their rep denies anything of the sort. “There is no truth whatsoever to the Star article,” the rep told ET . “Eddie and LeAnn are happy and working on their new VH1 series and having a great life.” This follows rumors in the aforementioned celebrity gossip magazine that the couple was going through hard times and headed for a $50 million divorce. “They’ve only been married for two-and-a-half years, but she’s been driving him [crazy] with psycho behavior from the moment they hooked up,” a source dished. With a VH1 reality show in the works, reports also claimed that Eddie Cibrian plans to officially pull the plug on their marriage once the season is over. “Being married to LeAnn is the worst mistake he’s ever made, and this past year in particular has been a nightmare,” the source insists. “He wants out.” Brandi Glanville ‘s ex “can’t take it anymore” since it’s “been getting continuously worse since they made it official, and Eddie is at the end of his rope.” Just not so, according to the couple, who wed in April 2011 and whose reality show, tentatively titled LeAnn & Eddie , is set to air on VH1 in early 2014.
The case of missing British toddler Madeleine McCann has been reopened six years after she disappeared, thanks to new evidence cited by investigators. Madeleine McCann Case Reopened McCann vanished from her hotel room during family vacation in Portugal. Police in that country effectively gave up trying to find her five years ago. Madeleine’s parents, Kate and Gerry McCann, had long campaigned from their home in central England for the Portuguese investigation to resume . In a statement Thursday, they said they were “very pleased.” “We hope that this will finally lead to (Madeleine) being found and to the discovery of whoever is responsible for this crime,” Kate and Gerry McCann said. Madeleine went missing just before her fourth birthday. The couple, both doctors, continue to care for Madeleine’s younger siblings, twins Sean and Amelie. McCann’s disappearance sparked global interest. In a stunning twist, Portuguese police briefly considered the parents suspects before they were cleared. Portuguese police closed the case in 2008, having detected no crime. However, a team of detectives from Porto, in northern Portugal, began reviewing evidence in 2011. They had not been involved in the original investigation. The public prosecutor’s office in Lisbon said it decided to reopen the investigation after new leads emerged during the case review. It did not elaborate. The case is subject to Portugal’s judicial secrecy law. British police, meanwhile, launched Operation Grange in 2011 to try to find out what happened to Madeleine and have also “identified new avenues.” They say both the timeline and the version of events surrounding the girl’s disappearance have changed significantly as new information has emerged. British detectives say it’s possible that Madeleine is still alive, and released a computer-generated image of a person they were interested in questioning. It’s an encouraging sign. We continue to hope for her safe return, along with that of Lisa Irwin and so many others who have been tragically abducted.
Joyce Giraud is new to Bravo. Viewers will meet this Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member on the show’s November 4 premiere. But Brandi Glanville has already gotten to know Giraud and she made it very clear Wednesday night: she’s not a fan! At the premiere party for Season 4 in Los Angeles, Glanville was asked about her two new colleagues, Giraud and Carlton Gebbia . “I like Carlton and I don’t like Joyce,” Eddie Cibrian’s ex told Us Weekly very simply. “Carlton is a real straight woman. She is a great woman, a great mom. She is the real deal and no BS, and the other one is the complete opposite.” Giraud might not agree with that statement, but she isn’t backing down either. She isn’t making any apologies for her personality. “I think it’s always tough to be a new girl in a bunch,” Joyce said at the same event. “I’m honest and I’m myself. Some people will like it, and some people will not.” Joyce Giraud Slams Brandi Glanville Lisa Vanderpump, meanwhile, said she likes Giraud “very much” specifically because she’s “straightforward and very direct,” while Gebbia teased an upcoming clash with. “It was very hard because I’m very quiet and protective of what I believe in just because there are ignorant people,” Gebbia said of her Celtic ancestry and involvement with witchcraft. “When it did come out, for the most part it was received in a favorable way. Then you have the percentage…I don’t judge people by their faith, but unfortunately some people are uncomfortable.” Yes, by the way, we said witchcraft . Now you’ll be tuning in to The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills premiere, won’t you? Gebbia and Giraud have replaced exiting cast members Taylor Armstrong and Adrienne Maloof.
Dean Sheremet gave an interview last night in which he sort of dissed his ex-wife LeAnn Rimes. Naturally, she took this and ran with it for attention. Sheremet, of course, is the mwan she was married to when she started hooking up with Eddie Cibrian, who was also married to Brandi Glanville . As you can imagine, he’s got a lot of feelings about LeAnn , even if he airs them in public less frequently than Brandi does about Rimes and Cibrian. On Access Hollywood, he said he was “blindsided” by her infidelity. Moreover, the way that he learned about the affair was that LeAnn called him to let him know that some magazine “may or may not have a picture of me and Eddie kissing.” Saying he “never saw it coming” because “you have that assumption that the person that you’re with would never do something like that” isn’t really dissing her, it’s just true. As is the fact that the two “don’t really talk that much,” he says, because “there’s not really a need to. I don’t really know what we would talk about.” Dean Sheremet , who is also remarried, is a chef these days, which is ostensibly why he was on TV, though he admits that the notoriety has an upside: “it’s part of my story and it’s the reason that I get to do awesome cooking segments. Whatever it is that gets me in the door is fine. I’m really a chef!” LeAnn, obviously, couldn’t let this go without a series of tweets, beginning with “I’ve got nothing! Over it, long gone, next… I mean really!? TGIF.” And it continued, for kind of no reason. Rimes seems legitimately surprised people still care about her home-wrecking ways, yet she also feeds into it. Kind of bizarre, don’t you think? Why not just … not respond?
Losing her cheating husband Eddie Cibrian to mistress LeAnn Rimes was one thing for Brandi Glanville. Seeing Rimes with her two sons is another entirely. Being exposed to shared photos of Mason, 9, and Jake, 5, with their stepmom is “the worst pain you could ever imagine,” she tells Bethenny Frankel. “You think your heart has been broken after you get a divorce? Wait until there is a girl tweeting pictures of, ‘Oh, look at my family.’ You have no idea.” “I feel like she almost does it to antagonize me, but at this point I’ve accepted it,” Brandi Glanville vented to Frankel on her talk show Bethenny . “It took me awhile, but Xanax was my friend when that started happening,” she adds. “I was like, ‘You can have the man, but those are my babies.'” Glanville and Cibrian, both 40, pulled the plug on their seven-year union in 2009 in the wake of his affair with Rimes (who was also married at the time). The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Glanville and Rimes, 31, have engaged in numerous Twitter wars and feuds of moderate intensity in recent years. She does say there is one important silver lining to all of this, though. “You know, I think [Eddie Cibrian] has actually become a much better father through divorce,” she said. “Because when we were together, he wasn’t home a lot.” “He didn’t spend a ton of time with the kids, and now he’s really present. That’s the one positive I take away from it because the rest freaking sucks.” Most recently, LeAnn Rimes (below) seemed to call attention to the feud for kind of no reason. Joan Rivers says Angelina and her sideline heaux steez got off easy in the public eye Joan Rivers Criticizes Media For Praising Angelina Jolie It’s been years since Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt went public with their affair-turned-relationship that rocked Hollyweird, but E! Network loud mouth and “Fashion Police” co-host Joan Rivers is still talkin that talk about Angelina not being held accountable for homewreckin’ her way into Brad’s pants heart. via CMT When LeAnn Rimes joined the Fashion Police recently on the E! network, Joan Rivers didn’t really talk celeb fashion with her. She focused more on just the celeb part — especially how hard it is for Rimes, who Rivers said the press has treated “abominably.” Then, with her own unique take on Rimes’ marriage to Eddie Cibrian, Rivers said: “You got together with a married man? So did Angelina Jolie. And she’s become a f*****g goddess.” Then the two talked about how much control the press can have over people’s lives and how they can twist any topic any way they want. “They can take it down a negative road, or if they want you to be happy and they love you, they’ll take it down that road,” Rimes said. But when Rivers asked her why she keeps picking fights on Twitter, Rimes said all she does is stand up for herself every once in a while. “Can you imagine the stuff I just let go? There’s tons of it,” she said. Dating a married man is never admirable, but do you think LeAnn Rimes and Angelina Jolie had similar situations? Or is Joan just bumping her gums for the hell of it again?
Talk show host John Kerwin recently went on a date with Brandi Glanville and lived to tell about it … despite the fact that she has the Human Papillomavirus. That’s what he claims, anyway, calling it “whacked” that she didn’t reveal she has HPV before trying to get intimate following a romantic date. Radar states that Brandi Glanville was turned down for a one night stand with talk show host after things got “crazy out of control very quickly.” Brandi began kissing John “in a very aggressive manner,” a source says, “then bit his neck, which drew blood” and made it clear she wanted sex. That’s when Kerwin reportedly put the brakes on . “John turned her down because he isn’t the type of guy to have a one night stand. He has too much respect for women to do that,” the source says. Being too drunk to drive, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star banished John to the guest room,” the source said, declining to mention the STD. That revelation came from her book, Drinking & Tweeting: And Other Brandi Blunders , in which she alleges she got HPV from ex-hubby, Eddie Cibrian . Now writing a second book about relationships, Brandi may want to take Kerwin’s suggestion for the title. He recommends: “My Life As An Open Sore.” Not that he’s entirely bitter about the situation. “I think she is fine,” he said. “We got along. I think at one point she slapped me in the face, which I thought was hot, which tells you where I’m at… she is great.” She really is … for entertainment value if nothing else.
LeAnn Rimes is not pregnant, people. We repeat: Not true. Brand Glanville , breathe. And put down the Chardonnay. In the wake of a video surfacing online of the country star seemingly affirming that she is with child, the 30-year-old’s rep says, again, that she is not. If it sounds familiar, that’s because it pretty much is. Back in February, rumors surfaced that Eddie Cibrian got LeAnn Rimes pregnant , while the star herself quashed the speculation again in March. Nothing in April, but that’s three of the last four months! Twitter and the celebrity gossip tabloids really believe these two should reproduce, it would appear. Maybe soon they will take a hint. Sheesh.
