Go here to read the rest:

One of the four men who accused Bishop Eddie Long of sexual misconduct — the first one to speak publicly about the allegation — was arrested this week in Miami on suspicion of being a drug dealer. Jamal Parris, 24, was driving a white 2011 BMW in Miami Beach Tuesday evening when a Florida Highway Patrol officer noticed that it had no tags. After pulling the car over the approaching officer approached and smelled marijuana. A search of the car turned up 181 grams of marijuana, which is worth about $1,000 on the street. The officer also discovered 50 clear plastic baggies and a Taurus semiautomatic handgun. Parris also was carrying $1,250 in cash. Parris was arrested and jailed. He was charged with two felony counts: possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm while committing a felony. He also was charged with operating a motor vehicle with no registration, a misdemeanor. Read the full story here. ‘Limitless’: The Reviews Are In!

See what the critics are saying about Bradley Cooper and Robert De Niro’s new thriller. By Eric Ditzian Bradley Cooper in “Limitless” Photo: Relativity Media In “The Hangover,” one little pill opens up a whole world of hurt for Bradley Cooper. In “Limitless,” one little pill opens up Cooper’s whole world. No wonder that in this new thriller, which debuted on Friday (March 18), he can’t resist taking it over and over again. “Limitless” takes the familiar risks-and-rewards-of-drug-use story and tweaks it just enough to have attracted largely positive reviews. Critics have applauded the film’s bold visual style and the performances of Cooper and co-star Robert De Niro, even as they’ve pointed out plot holes and problems with the film’s ending. For those critiques and more, read on for what folks are saying about “Limitless”: The Story “In ‘Limitless,’ a man gets hooked on a new designer drug that allows him, by popping a little clear tablet once a day, to access 100 percent of his brain, instead of the tiny fraction that’s popularly believed that we use. Almost overnight, Eddie (Bradley Cooper) goes from being a scruffy, mumbling novelist with writer’s block and a girlfriend (Abbie Cornish) who has just dumped him to a multilingual motormouth with a successful stock portfolio, a photographic memory [and] the analytic powers of Watson the supercomputer…. Soon Eddie is on the run from several disreputable types who have also gotten a jones for mother’s little helper, called NZT, the demand for which vastly outstrips the supply. Through a serendipitous — and bloody — series of events, Eddie has come into quite a stash. Understandably, he doesn’t want to share it. But he also doesn’t want to die.” — Michael O’Sullivan, The Washington Post The Performances “The performances break all barriers for ‘Limitless.’ Despite his rising status as part of ‘The Hangover’ money machine, Cooper still possesses enough everyman charm and relative anonymity to pull off a character like Eddie, who is smart enough even without NZT to know he’s pushing his luck. He’s ideally matched with De Niro, playing the canny Wall Streeter Carl Van Loon, for whom [Leslie] Dixon has penned some of the best dialogue De Niro has had since ‘Goodfellas.’ His ‘Don’t make me your competition’ speech to Eddie could become a quotable riff.” — Peter Howell, Toronto Star The Visuals “[Director Neil] Burger tries all kinds of visual trickery to imagine the hyper flow of information into a highly receptive brain: When Eddie is writing, letters fall from the ceiling; multiple Eddies are seen performing tasks; flattering light gently bathes Eddie’s face; and, in the most inventive yet strangely unsuccessful gimmick, the camera appears to rush through Manhattan streets, gobbling up blocks within seconds.” — Kirk Honeycutt, The Hollywood Reporter The Limits “Some of the plot holes are hard to ignore; given that Eddie is the world’s smartest man, he makes some stunningly stupid mistakes. And the ending — a complete departure from the book — is unabashedly shallow. But all of that makes Cooper the ideal man for this job. ‘Limitless’ is a superficial, highly buffed sell, and nobody does slick better than the ‘Hangover’ star. Effortlessly charismatic, he seems to suggest we’d be lucky to go along on his ride. And for the most part, he’s right.” — Elizabeth Weitzman, New York Daily News The Pace “The story moves as quickly as the brainiac hero, whose new power demands that he remain in a state of perpetual activity or explode (figuratively). To convey the speed of Eddie’s thoughts, Burger employs a slew of nifty special effects, including a new kind of zoom shot that covers miles of Manhattan in a single, breathtaking rush. But for all its peripatetic energy, ‘Limitless’ still winds up with the same-old blazing guns and wanton destruction of property. No matter how smart you may be, Hollywood will figure out a way to dumb you down.” — Rene Rodriguez, Miami Herald Check out everything we’ve got on “Limitless.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com .

Charlie Sheen: Headed to HBO?!?

The lunacy of Charlie Sheen has resulted in CBS shutting down production on Two and a Half Men this season. But don’t think this news fazes the hilariously troubled actor, who texted from the Bahamas last night – where he’s vacationing with a pair of Sheen-proclaimed “goddesses,” Bree Olson and Natalie Kenly – and told Radar Online he’s nearing a deal with HBO. “I’m close to securing a deal… for a 10 show guarantee,” he wrote . “It will be epic, all types of guests and we will focus on the truth and the absurd!” Who could have guessed how prescient the folks behind Major League were when they dubbed Sheen’s character “Wild Thing?” No comment yet from that network, but Sheen is still under contract with CBS. Would he really leave a sitcom that pays him $2 million per episode? Yes. Because he claims the HBO deal would be worth $5 million/week. Can we believe anything from a man who orders suitcases full of cocaine, refers to himself as a ” High Priest Vatican Assassin Warlock ” and believes he’s “winning” at life because all of us “losers” cannot “process” his behavior? Of course not. But, however it comes about, this is our best guess: no way is Sheen starring on Two and a Half Men next season.

Eddie Cibrian-LeAnn Rimes Reality Show in the Works?

Eddie Cibrian and LeAnn Rimes are engaged and in love . But will CibriAnn soon open their world to reality TV cameras for all to see? That’s the rumor floating around … and his ex-wife would be on the warpath. Brandi Glanville says she “knows nothing” about the reported new reality show , which would also feature Brandi and Eddie’s sons Mason and Jake. Are Eddie and LeAnn coming to reality TV? [Photo: Pacific Coast News] “LeAnn tweeted that anyone who does a reality show is a fame whore so I somehow doubt it,” Glanville said, and she knows about Rimes’ Tweets. Glanville and Rimes recently got into a Twitter fight after the former blasted the famous singer for acting inappropriately at her son’s school. “I told Eddie to please tell you that I think it is highly inappropriate for you to sing in my son’s class on Friday,” Glanville wrote. “Boundries!” “It’s Mason’s week to share his family with the class. it isn’t ur place,” she added. “Let Eddie read a script. You are not his parent. RESPECT!” Although no direct response was given from Rimes, she did post a somewhat cryptic message possibly addressing the messages from Glanville. “I have asked once and would hope my fans would please respect my wishes… please do not retweet me anyone else’s drama,” Rimes wrote. Rimes made headlines when she had an affair with Cibrian, who then ended his eight year marriage with Brandi Glanville to be with LeAnn. The two women tried counseling together to attempt to resolve their differences, but they don’t appear to have reached a successful outcome. Rimes and Cibrian announced their engagement in December. A reality show would certainly not help smooth things over, but it would certainly be entertaining if they brought Brandi’s crazy into the fold.

Would corn by any other name taste as sweet?

Regardless of your opinion of it, you've probably heard the recent discussions around high-fructose corn syrup. Some scientists have suggested the ingredient is harmful and contributes to obesity, while others claim that the sweetener is no different than sugar. In attempt to clear up the confusion, the Corn Refiners Association is petitioning the Food and Drug Administration to allow a name change from “high fructose corn syrup” to “corn sugar.” They believe the name would be more accurate: “Clearly the name is confusing consumers,” said Audrae Erickson, president of the Washington-based group, in an interview. “Research shows that ‘corn sugar’ better communicates the amount of calories, the level of fructose and the sweetness in this ingredient.” What do you think? Is corn sugar a move towards a more accurate name, or just an attempt to avoid the increased scrutiny of consumers?

Is Spielberg’s New Lead Eddie Redmayne?

I guess having that locked-in release date of August 10, 2011 is just what Steven Spielberg needed to really commit to making War Horse his next film. The Playlist hears that he’s gone ahead and cast Verge alum Eddie Redmayne in the story of a farmer’s son who longs to be reunited with his favorite horse during the first World War. I’m guessing that Eddie isn’t the horse (though it certainly might make things a little more interesting). [ The Playlist ]
