Bree Olson, Kelley Jean, and Tuesday Cross are Tight: The Mr. Skin Interview

We’re big fans of rock music here at Skin Central, but we’re even bigger fans of porn stars, so of course we were thrilled to interview Bree Olson , Kelley Jean , and Tuesday Cross of the porn star-turned-rocker movie Tight . The recently released film follows four adult performers who have never had any trouble getting men to bang heads, Monica Mayhem , Tuesday Cross , Alicia Andrews , and Layla Labelle . With hardcore superstar Bree Olson on hand as manager, they headed to Las Vegas on a quest to become the world’s hardest-rocking raunch ‘n’ rollers. After filming wrapped, lead singer Monica Mayhem left the group and was replaced by another adult performer with a great set of lungs, Kelley Jean , who led the band to a victory on Howard Stern’s XXX Factor talent competition back in April. Bree, Kelley, and Tuesday took some time off from turning the whole world on to talk to Skin Central about groupies, the finer points of band life, and their favorite music for getting it on. Rack ‘n’ roll! Read the full interview after the jump!

Dave Markey: The Mr. Skin Interview [PICS]

Dave Markey is an underground legend. A filmmaker who started making Super 8 movies before he hit his teens, by the time he finished high school he and his best friend Jordan Schwartz were the unofficial chroniclers of LA’s hardcore punk scene thanks to their ‘zine We Got Power! . We Got Power! only lasted for a few years, but after a long and totally awesome career documenting and making music videos for bands like Sonic Youth, Shonen Knife, The Circle Jerks, The Meat Puppets and Dinosaur Jr. as well as making the punk rock girl-gang classic Desperate Teenage Lovedolls (1984), its sequel Lovedolls Superstar (1986), and the award-winning documentary The Reinactors (2008), Dave teamed back up with his friend Jordan to re-visit their old ‘zine. The result is We Got Power!: Hardcore Punk Scenes from 1980s Southern California , the new book from Bazillion Points that combines Markey and Schwartz’s photographs with essays from the people who were there. Illuminating, impassioned, and essential reading for anyone in need of some inspiration, We Got Power! is the definitive document of LA hardcore in the early ’80s. We talked to Dave at home, where he told us about his movies, the LA scene then and now, and the indelible appeal of Russ Meyer. More after the jump!

D. McKinney: The Mr. Skin Interview [PICS]

You might think that author D. McKinney is a chain-smoking, kohl-addicted Goth chick who hangs out at Denny’s all night, sipping black coffee and sneering at squares. And maybe, at one point, she was. But then she had the good sense to translate that experience into her debut novel Welcome to Slumberland , about a moody Goth chick whose mundane existence suddenly becomes a lot more exciting when a sexy new neighbor (who might also be a serial killer, but whatever) moves in next door. When we interviewed McKInney, we instead found her to be funny, frank, and, most importantly, willing to discuss the finer points of Kat Dennings ‘ tits. Read Skin Central’s interview with D. Festival Report: Fantastic Fest, Part 4

Fantastic Fest’s comedy division is known, appropriately enough, as “Gut Busters”, and while this year there were a few movies that promised all manner of profanity, nothing reached the hilariously obscene heights of last year’s Klown (2010). Read reviews of Vulgaria (2012), New Kids Nitro (2011), Wrong (2012) and the art-house flick Holy Motors (2012) from Fantastic Fest after the jump!

Fantastic Fest Review: Dead Sushi [VIDEO]

If you’re not familiar with Japanese director Noboru Iguchi, here’s all you need to know: his filmography includes the titles Zombie Ass: Toilet of the Dead (2011), Mutant Girls Squad (2010), and RoboGeisha (2008). Certifiably obsessed with farts and poop (his segment in The ABCs of Death , “F is for Fart”, is about a girl who dies in ecstasy smelling her female teacher’s farts) this low-budget genre master got his start in AV movies before making the transition to the mainstream (as mainstream as he’s ever gonna get, anyway) with Sukeban Boy (2006), starring topless model Asami as a boy who looks so much like a girl, his father sends him to an all-girls high school. All that T&A could have fooled us! Iguchi’s new movie is Dead Sushi (2012), a light-hearted and frequently hilarious horror-comedy about an inn under attack by killer mutant sushi. Yeah, like spicy tuna. Iguchi says he was inspired to make Dead Sushi by Attack of the Killer Tomatoes (1978) and Jaws (1975), which if you think about it–a Japanese guy combining killer fish and killer food– makes perfect and complete sense. The same can’t be said for the movie, but trust us– we mean that in the best way possible. Up and coming karate star Rina Takeda stars as Keiko, whose sushi chef father kicks her out of the house because women’s hands are too warm to really make good sushi. So Keiko gets a job at a remote inn, but when a drifter with a bad wig and a chip on his shoulder shows up and injects dinner with a radioactive serum, the metal guitar starts shredding and bloody martial arts mayhem ensues. Dead Sushi isn’t trying to be anything profound, but it must have been a ton of fun to make. It certainly is to watch. At one point a piece of sushi rips a guy’s throat out, and at another woman’s face is mangled by a piece of sushi; the guy watching doesn’t try to help her, but reaches out for one last grope at her boobs before she dies. Iguchi regular Asami shows up in a non-nude role as the mistress of the inn, fans of Japanese girls in their underwear will be more than satisfied, and there’s an absolutely gratuitous scene where AV star Marin goes topless as she prepares for a bath, blissfully unaware of the soon-to-be-dead pervert watching her from the tub. Silly, sexy and completely over-the-top, Dead Sushi (2012) is a movie that speaks to the perverted 12-year-old boy in all of us. Stay tuned for an interview with Dead Sushi star Rina Takeda and director Noboru Iguchi right here at MrSkin.com!

Festival Report: Fantastic Fest, Part 2

Fantastic Fest is already halfway done here in Austin, and Monday night the best of the fest were honored at the Fantastic Fest Awards . It’s the only awards ceremony in existence (certainly the only one we’ve heard of) where the winners have to chug a beer before they can accept their award…except for horror category judge Barbara Crampton , who chugged wine, and comedy judge Doug Benson, who smoked a bong. Two of this year’s big winners were also two of the most provocative and nudity-filled features of the entire festival: Sweeping the horror categories this year with awards for Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Screenplay, Best Director, AND Best Picture was Here Comes the Devil (2012), director Adri
