The Lone Ranger First Look: Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer

Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures has given us our first look at Johnny Depp in his latest eccentric role. The Oscar-winning star teams up with Armie Hammer for The Lone Ranger , starring in that May 2013 blockbuster as Tonto, the Native American BFF of the film’s title character. The Lone Ranger is a big screen adaption of the classic 1940s TV and radio series. It will produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and directed by Gore Verbinski. Said the former to Entertainment Weekly awhile back: “When the idea came up [for the movie], I started thinking about Tonto and what could be done in my own small way try to reinvent the relationship to attempt to take some of the ugliness thrown on the Native Americans – not only in The Lone Ranger, but the way Indians were treated throughout history of cinema – and turn it on its head.” Are you excited for The Lone Ranger remake?

Elisabeth Moss Slams Ex-Husband, Sexes Up Page Six Magazine

Elisabeth Moss is not known for being outspoken or particularly sexy. But the Mad Men star sets out to change both those perceptions in the latest issue of Page Six Magazine . First, the sexiness: Asked about her divorce from Saturday Night Live player Fred Armisten, meanwhile, Moss at first told the publication “it’s so hard to talk about,” but then added: “One of the greatest things I heard someone say about [Fred] is, ‘He’s so great at doing impersonations. But the greatest impersonation he does is that of a normal person.’ To me, that sums it up.” Laughing about how she’ll likely receive a “slap on the wrist” for the comment, Moss said she’s been a “good girl” for so long and, hey, “sometimes you just want to be a bad girl for a minute.” Does she still talk with her ex? “Oh god, no,” Moss said. Does she want to settle down again? Sure. Probably. Someday. For now… “I obviously want a partner in life, and I want someone to grow old with, but there’s also a nice time when you’re young to enjoy being you. It’s fun to go out at night and not know what’s going to happen. I’m addicted to and obsessed with my freedom in that sense. I’m having fun!”

Elisabeth Moss in “Me In My Place” for Esquire of the Day

Wow….This is a horrible fucking casting for a feature in a magazine that is supposed to involve a girl of interest, like a model or actor, even at a low level, to prance around her house in her underwear….It’s supposed to give you a glimpse into a world you will never have accesss to with a pussy you will never have access to…not something you don’t want access to…but in the defense of the photographer, who I have had a few emails back and forth with over the years…..at least he kept her pretty fucking covered up so I can focus on other things like where she got her furniture…yes these pics turned me into a gay interior designer…..that’s how hot this bitch is.

Kristen Stewart Is ‘Incredible’ In ‘On The Road,’ Garrett Hedlund Says

‘Everyone is going to get to see how hard a worker she is,’ he tells MTV News of KStew. By Kara Warner, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Garrett Hedlund Photo: MTV News While Garrett Hedlund isn’t exactly a household name yet, filmgoers will soon be very familiar with him via his two new projects “Tron Legacy” and “Country Strong,” not to mention the upcoming “On the Road” film. When MTV News caught up with the busy man recently, we asked him about the recent uptick in his career — beginning with landing that coveted role in “On the Road.” “It’s the hardest I’ve ever had to work, which is a very good sign,” Hedlund said about the big-screen adaptation of Jack Kerouac’s tour-de-beatnik classic. “It’s the greatest experience of my lifetime — well, these last couple years have [been]. All these mean so much to me ,with ‘Tron Legacy’ and the world getting to see [‘Tron’ director] Joseph Kosinski for the first time, who I feel is the next great visionary genius,” he said. “For ‘Country Strong,’ I worked six months on the guitar to get that down and to play a country singer with Gwyneth [Paltrow] and that gets to showcase Shana Feste’s incredible talents as a writer/director, because she’s just miraculous. “Now with ‘On the Road,’ getting to work with Walter Salles, who I owe such a tremendous amount to because he gives me so much,” he explained of the “Motorcycle Diaries” director. “He fulfills me with so much other people haven’t been able to do, and he does it so simply.” Hedlund went on to say that “Road” will be full color not black-and-white, which had been rumored, and he called the experience, fittingly, “a long journey.” Regarding Kristen Stewart, Hedlund had nothing but the highest compliments to pay his co-star. “[She is] incredible, and in this, everyone is going to get to see how hard a worker she is, the devotion that she puts into her work,” Hedlund enthused. “And her performance is going to be exposed highly in this.” Hedlund added that the entire cast is packed with talent. “Everybody, Sam Riley is phenomenal, we’ve had a lot of wonderful surprises in having people like Viggo Mortenson, Amy Adams, Elisabeth Moss join us,” he said. “Most recently, Steve Buscemi and Terrence Howard. Alice Braga, it’s been phenomenal, it’s been quite the family.” Are you excited to see “On the Road”? Tell us in the comments! ‘Let’s Go Someplace Darker’: Mad Men Recapped

Damn you, Matthew Weiner: Always making me work on a holiday. It’s an apt metaphor for Sunday night’s Mad Men , however. I suppose he’d greet my complaint with some paraphrase of Don’s afterhours reality check to birthday girl Peggy — “You’re 30-something years old; it’s time to get over Labor Day” — before insisting I hunker down and bring ides for the year’s seventh episode. And here I am! It worked.

So, About That Mark Wahlberg Porn Series…

Good news, fans of porn, HBO and Mark Wahlberg: All three elements are colliding in a new untitled series being developed at the premium cable network by Entourage executive producers Wahlberg and Steve Levinson. The hour-long drama will focus on a “giant video company under siege from Internet competitors and a girl from the Midwest whose boyfriend convinces her to move to Los Angeles to become a star.” Both actors and real-life porn performers will star in the project, which is being written by none other than… James Frey. Said the Million Little Pieces scribe, “We’re going to make a sprawling epic about the porn business in LA. We’re going to tell the type of stories no one else has told before.” Well, no one except for Paul Thomas Anderson. [ NYP ]

Love and Other Drugs Trailer: Jake Gyllenhaal’s Second Round with Anne Hathaway is Viagra-Aided

When Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway got together in Brokeback Mountain , there were a few issues: Jake kept disappearing off on “fishing trips,” Thanksgiving dinner took forever , and even in her most poignant moments, Hathaway simply couldn’t keep the old-lady lipstick off her teeth. Things may go better for their reteaming in Ed Zwick’s Love and Other Drugs if this trailer is any indication, because at least they’ve got Viagra on their side now.
