‘Glee’ creator Ryan Murphy also takes home some hardware, for Best Direction of a Comedy. By Jocelyn Vena Jane Lynch accepts Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy at 2010 Emmy Awards Photo: Kevin Winter/ Getty Images Jane Lynch won’t be throwing any slushees in the faces of Emmy voters this year. The woman who weekly terrorizes the kids of “Glee” as Sue Sylvester took home the statue for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy on Sunday night and seamlessly combined humor and true surprise in her acceptance speech. “Thank you so much,” she told the crowd from the stage, clutching her Emmy in a one-shoulder purple dress. “This is outlandish!” Lynch went on to thank her family and “Glee” co-stars in true Lynch-ian fashion. “I want to thank my parents on the South Side of Chicago for raising us to the sounds of musical theater and being so unintentionally hilarious,” she said in her speech. “I love being an actor. I love being an ensemble.” Later, recalling the calming spirituality of Buddhism, she joked, “Although I am not Buddhist, they do seem like a very calm people.” She had the audience in stitches when she said actors “have no choice or any marketable skills. I have to thank my lord and creator [‘Glee’ mastermind] Ryan Murphy for creating this role of a lifetime and the cast who are so young and fresh-faced, and when I’m not seething with jealousy, I’m so proud of you. And I love you my wife Laura and my little girl, Haden.” Later on, Murphy also snatched up a prize for Best Direction of a Comedy. In his speech, he shared with the room why he was inspired to make the show: “Thank you so much. I’m so shocked. I would like to thank Fox … Tom Ford for the tux, my beautiful cast, whom I love so much. ‘Glee’ is about the importance of arts education, so I would like to dedicate this to all my teachers who taught me to sing and finger-paint.” What did you think of Lynch’s win and acceptance speech? ‘American Idol’ Contestants Want Lady Gaga, Harry Connick Jr. To Judge

Season-nine singers Lee DeWyze, Siobhan Magnus and more chat about their dream “Idol” panel for the show’s upcoming tenth season. By Mawuse Ziegbe, with reporting by James Lascina Lee DeWyze Photo: MTV News The rumor-mill has been churning non-stop about which big-name celebs will step behind the “American Idol” judges’ table for the upcoming tenth season. Jennifer Lopez is reportedly in the running, alongside Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler and country diva Shania Twain. Elton John, Justin Timberlake, Paula Abdul and Usher have also turned up on “Idol” judge wish lists. One group of people that has had firsthand experience with the judges’ feedback is the “American Idol” contestants. On the Los Angeles stop of the “Idol” summer tour on Friday (August 13), the season-nine contenders spoke with MTV News about their dream judging panel. “I think Harry Connick Jr. would be really good because he was amazing [as a mentor] on the show,” said Katie Stevens. “Supposedly Elton John was talked about. I think that would be really cool too. Hey, maybe J.Lo, J.Lo’s cool.” Aaron Kelly is also on Team Connick but said that with “Idol’s” newly-lowered age minimum, contestants and fans could benefit from the perspective of an artist who has scored success early on. “I think a young judge would be a good idea. Taylor Swift or somebody that got started young,” Kelly observed. “There’s a lot of teenage fans that watch the show … so also a young judge would bring in that audience.” Spunky singer Siobhan Magnus suggested the show should incorporate celebs outside of music for the next judges’ panel. “I think the best choice, no question, would be Pee Wee Herman. I’m pushing for it. I’m advocating every chance I get to say it. I think that Pee Wee Herman should be a judge on ‘American Idol,’ ” Magnus declared. She did have some musicians in mind for the gig, who would also make the show a big adventure. “Maybe Ozzy [Osbourne]. Just [because] how fun would that be? Everyone would be like, ‘What did he just say?’ [Or] maybe someone zany like Lady Gaga who’s huge now and just so creative.” Other season-nine contestants are feeling the idea of bringing a little comedy to the competition. In addition to suggesting his fellow “Idol” contender Michael Lynche and ’90s hip-hop duo Kid ‘N Play, Andrew Garcia rattled off names like Carrot Top and Tony Danza as stars he would put on his dream judges’ table. “[Tony Danza is] a cool guy and it’d be cool to have him on the show,” Garcia reasoned. Lee DeWyze also mentioned Danza and threw in Twisted Sister’s Dee Snider as potential celebs on his ideal panel, but admitted that he didn’t wasn’t married to a particular lineup. “I don’t know. I’m just throwing random names [out there],” the “Idol” champ shrugged. “But who knows, it could be anybody.” Lynche said he would keep a connection to the original judges’ table but also switch it up with some fresh faces. “You gotta keep the dawg [Randy Jackson] because [he’s] so classic. I thought J. Lo was a good pick. I heard that she was rumored to be one of the people up for it,” Lynche said. The singer also suggested that he has the chops to dole out feedback to “Idol” hopefuls. “Why not just pick me for the last one?” he said. “Put Big Mike up there.” Casey James said he would keep the final decisions about who moves on each week to the fans. “Three random people from the crowd that were clapping really loud for me,” is who James said he would snag as judges. Didi Benami said celebs such as Bret Michaels, Tyler, Twain and Lopez would make good judges but also mentioned that star power isn’t the most important thing when it comes to picking “Idol” critics. “I don’t really have a dream panel,” said Benami. “I just want them to be good and help with the contestants.” Who would be on your dream “American Idol” judging panel? Lady Gaga Debuts New Song ‘You And I’ At Elton John Benefit

Video of Gaga performing new ‘rock-and-roll tune’ hits the Net. By Gil Kaufman Lady Gaga and Elton John (file) Photo: Kevin Kane/ WireImage We already know that Lady Gaga is pretty much finished with the follow-up to her smash full-length debut, The Fame. But now we finally have a peek at some of the material that might be on the album, thanks to footage of Gaga performing at Elton John ‘s White Tie and Tiara Ball last Thursday. “This is a brand-new record that no one’s ever heard before … ever,” she said while seated at one of her signature deconstructed pianos and wearing a bedazzled black bra and panties with black boots. “And I’ve never, ever played it live, ever.” On her Twitter , she described “You and I” as a “new song … written in NY on the piano I grew up on.” Sounding a tad hoarse, Gaga described the song to her audience as a bit of a “rock-and-roll tune,” predicting that for that reason it will not likely get used as a single, but that it is “very dear” to her heart. “It’s been a long time since I came around/ It’s been a long time, but I’m back in town/ And this time, I’m not leaving without you,” she sang, describing a whiskey-breathed lover for whom she’s pining. “He said, ‘Sit back down where you belong, in the corner of my bar with your high heels on,’ ” she continued, her voice rising and getting a bit more growly just before the band came in and provided a swaying backdrop to the bluesy rocker. ” ‘Sit back down on the couch where we made out the first time, and you said to me/ “Something, something about this place/ Something about lonely lights and my lipstick on your face.” ‘ ” She wasn’t kidding about the song having a rock edge, as the tune eschewed most of her dance flavor, right down to a rollicking barrelhouse piano solo, during which she stood up on the piano bench and bashed out some John-worthy runs on the black and whites. She finished the tune crouched on the bench, wailing, “You and I,” while pumping her fist, before giving it a big finish that included kicking a heel up on the keyboard and lying across the piano bench with her head on the ground. Gaga tweeted about her performance at the 12th annual fundraiser for the Elton John AIDS Foundation, writing, “What a brilliant evening with wonderful friends. Thank you to everyone who donated to the Elton John AIDS Foundation. What a magical stage.” Gaga also took the stage in a wheelchair with her chest covered in fake blood and accompanied by an oiled-up male dancer for a run through “Alejandro,” and she performed her ballad “Speechless.” During the latter, John came out and joined her for a dueling-pianos showdown, trading off verses on the tune dedicated to Gaga’s dad and then reprising their Grammys duet with a snippet of his hit “Your Song,” during which he improvised the line, “I hope you don’t mind that I wrote down in words/ How wonderful life is with Gaga in the world.” The gothic-themed event took place at a Windsor mansion owned by John and partner David Furnish and featured performance artists wearing straight jackets and dangling from fake trees and bandaged men in white coats serving cocktails in medicine bottles. According to reports, guests included Elizabeth Hurley, Kate Beckinsale, Sharon and Kelly Osbourne, Jon Bon Jovi and Kid Rock. What do you think of Gaga’s new song? Let us know in comments below. Elizabeth Hurley’s Hot MILF Slit

Here’s queen MILF Elizabeth Hurley leaving for some sort of flashy Elton John party the other night in her nice white evening gown giving us a tiny peek at her mom cleavage. I’m not that into fashion design, but if it were up to me I would have made that slit in her dress about an inch or two higher. Not because I want to get a look at her lady business, but because I think it would really make the whole outfit more aesthetically pleasing. Alright, of course I want to get a look at her lady business. So what? more pictures of Elizabeth Hurley here
