Scientists discover your toe fungus cream might be able to stop the HIV virus… Foot Cream Can Kill HIV Virus Via CNET News : A common drug that dermatologists turn to treat nail fungus appears to come with a not-so-tiny side effect: eradicating HIV. In a study performed at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, not only does the drug Ciclopirox completely eradicate infectious HIV from cell cultures, but unlike today’s most cutting-edge antiviral treatments, the virus doesn’t bounce back when the drug is withheld. This means it may not require a lifetime of use to keep HIV at bay. The same group of researchers had previously shown that Ciclopirox — approved by the FDA and Europe’s EMA as safe for human use to treat foot fungus — inhibits the expression of HIV genes in culture. Now they have found that it also blocks the essential function of the mitochondria, which results in the reactivation of the cell’s suicide pathway, all while sparing the healthy cells. The researchers said that one aspect of HIV that makes it particularly persistent, even in the face of strong antiviral treatments, is its ability to disable a cell’s altruistic suicide pathway — which is typically activated when a cell is damaged or infected. In other words, infected cells that would normally commit suicide to spare healthy cells no longer pull any altruistic kamikaze missions. Ciclopirox tricks these cells back into their old ways with a double negative, disabling the disabling of the suicide pathway. It’s still going to take clinical trials on humans to study the safety and efficacy of Ciclopirox as a potential topical HIV treatment, but the fact that it’s already deemed safe for one type of human use could make the regulatory process faster than usual. You can’t be serious … Boy Shoots Babysitter After Playing Game Via HuffPo reports: Louisiana law enforcement officials say an 8-year-old boy intentionally shot and killed his elderly caregiver Thursday evening after playing the video game “Grand Theft Auto.” According to WAFB-TV, the shooting, which the East Feliciana Parish Sheriff’s Office has called a homicide, took place in a mobile home park near Slaughter, La. The woman, who was pronounced dead at the scene, was reportedly found with a gunshot wound to the head. It is believed that the 8-year-old shot her while she was in the living room watching television. “Although a motive for the shooting is unknown at this time, investigators have learned that the juvenile suspect was playing a video game on the Play Station III “Grand Theft Auto IV”, a realistic game that has been associated with encouraging violence and awards points to players for killing people, just minutes before the homicide occurred,” a statement issued by the Sheriff’s Office said. As Fox News notes, “Grand Theft Auto” is rated “M” for mature audiences and recommended for teens and adults aged 17 and older. The woman, who has been identified as Marie Smothers, has been described as the “current caregiver” of the boy. It is, however, still unclear what her relationship was with the child. There is also conflicting information as to Smothers’ age, with some news outlets identifying her as an 87-year-old woman and others indicating that she was 90. It’s the video game’s fault. Never mind an 8 year-old had access to a gun. Crazy!

Amanda needs the hand of Jesus. Amanda Bynes Kicked Out The Ritz Amanda got kicked out her apartment and now she’s being kicked out hotel rooms. She phucks up everything she touches. It’s too bad the show “Intervention” was cancelled. SMH. According to TMZ Amanda Bynes was unceremoniously ejected from a Ritz-Carlton in NYC Thursday after allegedly smoking that mean green in her hotel room and being so rude to hotel staff … she made one poor girl cry …sources tell TMZ. Amanda begs to differ, telling us she left the hotel voluntarily — and does NOT smoke that sticky icky. Our sources say Amanda was a nightmare from the get-go, smoking drugs everyday despite warnings from hotel staff. We’re told Amanda tried using spray chemicals to mask the sticky icky smell. But that’s not it … we’re told Amanda was unspeakably rude to the hotel staff, telling the front desk girl she was “too ugly” to check her in. We’re told Amanda then offered her plastic surgeon’s services to the desk girl in question … and the tears started flowing. The bad behavior continued until Thursday …. Amanda was scheduled to check out at noon, but the hotel staff had had enough … and kicked her out several hours before mandatory check out. In case you’re wondering where Amanda’s going next — we’re told she was last seen getting into a cab headed to LaGuardia Airport … bound for L.A.. Damn, that’s hardcore telling the girl she’s ugly and then offering her the plastic surgeon’s number. Amanda should take that same number, call her plastic surgeon and asks for her old nose back. This is so disturbing . Four Men Found In Houston Dungeon According to Mail Online Four men have been found living in ‘deplorable’ conditions in a north Houston home, where police say they were being kept captive so a suspect could claim their welfare checks. The men, including a military vet, were so malnourished they were almost invalids, according to police who were tipped off by a neighbor. Three of the men were found in the garage, where they allegedly were forced to sleep on the linoleum floor, and a fourth was found in a room that had locks on the door and window. Police believe the alleged victims, who were aged 54, 65, 74 and 79, may have been homeless and that they were being kept at the house so the suspect, who has been arrested, could cash their welfare checks. Sergeant Steve Murdock told the Houston Chronicle that residents in the house had been taking the men’s social security checks. A man in his 40s, who is not believed to live at the house, has been arrested but no charges have been made. Houston police were tipped off about the men by a neighbor, and then called at the house at about 8.30am to do a welfare check. Sergeant J W McCoy added: ‘One of [the men] seemed to think he was just picked up off the street, kind of recruited to come and stay here.’ ‘In exchange for beer and cigarettes, and a place to stay, he had to turn over his social security checks,’ he told ABC 13. It’s sad these men were taken advantage of for being old, naive, and homeless. It’s especially sad that a military vet was homeless…America should have took care of him. Evil does not discriminate. Man Tortures And Sexually Abuses Four Kids According to Mail Online A Pennsylvania couple and another woman have been charged with physically and sexually abusing four children in their care for more than two decades. Warren Earl Yerger Sr., 51, of Douglassville, faces more than 500 criminal charges in connection with the alleged crimes against three girls and a boy, including forced sex, involuntary deviant sexual intercourse, aggravated indecent assault and corruption of minors. Chester County District Attorney Tom Hogan said Friday that Yerger’s wife, 34-year-old Leslie Yerger, a company payroll supervisor, and one-time girlfriend 46-year-old Deborah Keeley, a secretary, also face multiple counts including sex crimes and corruption of minors. Officials say the children were as young as 3 and the abuse occurred at residences in Chester, Berks, McKean and Montgomery counties between 1989 and 2012. The three defendants were booked into the Chester County Prison. Mr Yerger, a security guard, is being held on $1million bail. A judge set bail for the two women at $500,000 each. According to allegations made public Friday, the children were subjected to anal forced sex and digital penetration, forced to perform sex acts on adults and each other, and also required to take part in sexual encounters between the suspects, Philly.com reported. ‘This was, in every way possible, a living, walking breathing nightmare for these victims,’ Chester County District Attorney Thomas Hogan told CBS Philly. ‘Yerger has been charged with every legally appropriate charge for sexually abusing these children,’ said Hogan. ‘There is no charge that exists for it, but he ought to be charged with murdering the childhood of these victims.’ We feel bad for these babies. Mother Attacks Daughter With Clippers According to Mail Online A Massachusetts woman is facing an attempted murder charge after police say she has attacked her 9-year-old daughter with a pair of electric hedge clippers, nearly severing the child’s thumb. Both the mother and the girl were hospitalized with serious but non-life threatening injuries following the incident that took place in the family’s Westwood home early Monday morning. Chief Jeff Silva said the 9-year-old’s father stepped in to stop the attack reported at about 5am by the young victim, who told police that her mother was trying to kill herself. The couple’s younger child who was in the house was unharmed. Maureen Mullin, 39, was ordered held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing at an arraignment on charges including of attempted murder, assault and battery on a child and mayhem at her bedside at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston on Monday. Police received a call at around 4.51am Monday from a young girl reporting a domestic disturbance at her home at 126 Pond Street in Westwood. When officers arrived at the house, they discovered that Maureen Mullin had attacked her 9-year-old daughter with a gardening tool. Both the mother and daughter sustained serious injuries and were taken to area hospitals for treatment. An arrest report cited by the Boston Globe painted a horrific scene inside the Mullins’ residence, with blood staining the walls, floor and bedding of the 9-year-old’s bedroom and other rooms upstairs. Police have credited the actions of Mullin’s husband with saving his daughter from the brutal attack launched by his wife. Anthony Mullin, 39, told investigators that he was awakened just before 5am by the screams of his two daughters, ages 9 and 5, coming from a bedroom. Moments later, he heard one of his children say, ‘Why are you doing this, mommy?’ Responding officers found both the girl and her mother covered in blood. The woman, still in her husband’s embrace, was heard repeatedly saying, ‘I just wanted us all to be together.’ According to Mr Mullin, before police arrived, his wife grabbed a kitchen knife and threatened to stab him and take her own life. Police have yet to determine the motive behind the attack, but Mr Mullin said that his wife has been taking medication for depression and had an appointment for an unspecified mental health issue. The family’s neighbors in Westwood were stunned by the sudden outbreak of violence in the quiet community, describing the couple and their girls as seemingly happy and friendly. The match took place June 30 at Pius XII stadium in Maranhao, northeastern Brazil. According to Correio24horas, 30-year-old player Josenir dos Santos Abreu approached the 20-year-old referee, Octavio da Silva Catanhede Jordan, to argue a call.The two couldn’t come to terms so Catanhede Jordan told the player to leave the field. Santos Abreu refused and the argument turned heated when the referee allegedly pulled out a pocket knife and stabbed Santos Abreu multiple times. The player died en route to the hospital. Fans outraged by the stabbing – believed to be the player’s friends and family – stormed the pitch and cornered Catanhede Jordan. The mob showed no mercy as they quartered and decapitated the referee and then placed his head on a stake. So far police in Santa Ines, Maranhao have arrested one man, 27-year-old Luis Moraes Souza, in relation to the gruesome crime – but may be looking for two other men named ‘Chiquinho’ and ‘Pirolo’ according to a few other Brazilian blogs. Valter Costa, police chief of Santa Ines, released a statement about the investigation. ‘Reports of witnesses have indicated some people that were in place at the time of the fact,’ he said. ‘We will identify and hold accountable all those involved. A crime will never justify another. Actions like this do not collaborate with the legality of a state law.’ Isht is real in these foreign countries. According to Mail Online Theses are the first heartbreaking photos to emerge of Alanna Gallagher, the little six-year-old girl found horrifically stripped, bound and and murdered in a quiet suburban Fort Worth neighborhood. The photos reveal an adorable child with no shortage of smiles for the camera. Neighbors said she was an inquisitive ‘spitfire’ who always seemed to have questions that betrayed an intellect beyond her young age. Alanna’s body was found wrapped in a tarp a mile and a half from her home in Saginaw, Texas, on Monday night. She her hands and feet were bound, she had a plastic bag over her head and she was naked except for a pair of purple underwear. Police on Wednesday announced that the FBI has offered a $10,000 reward for anyone who helps them find the monster who abducted Alanna from her parents’ house. At a news conference, police spokesman Damon Ing said investigators are tracking down several leads and have already received numerous tips about the disappearance of little Alanna – but they need to public’s help to find her killer. Alanna’s parents have been ruled out as suspects in the case, Ing said. Her mother and father have been meeting with police chaplains and grief counselors since their daughter disappeared Monday night. Investigators say they are trying to figure out exactly when Alanna was taken from her home. Her body was found about 7.30pm about a mile and a half from her parents’ house. Alanna’s two other siblings are staying with family friends while their parents are being questioned by police. Neighbors say they noticed a red pickup truck with a green splotch on the rear passenger-side panel in the neighborhood shortly before the body was found. Investigators believe the driver may have something to do with the body and have asked anyone with information about the truck to come forward. A plastic bag over her head?
