Earlier in the day, he made headlines when he had a public meltdown backstage after his interview with “Good Morning America,” but by the time the party started, Brown just wanted to redirect the energy to his album. “It was good. There was nothing but girls in there,” DJ Juanyto, who was at the party, told MTV News. “He came onstage, no Hollywoodness. He took all that energy from everyone and started performing. It was dope. No type of negativity. He was really positive. It was really dope.” Brown also performed at the gathering, bringing out pals like Bow Wow, Waka Flocka Flame and Lloyd Banks. E! News reports that the star alluded to his earlier drama, saying, “I wasn’t gonna perform tonight, but f— it! A lot of whack sh– happened today.” Juanyto confirmed that Brown alluded to the media drama, but he said Brown also added, “I’m really here for my fans.” “After he performed, he went up to the balcony and was partying,” Juanyto said. “He came back downstairs and he brought out Lloyd and got into a reggae dance competition with the audience. He’s really all about the fans. There was no drama whatsoever. When he’s around his fans, he has all that love. He’s really all about interacting with his fans.” Brown stayed at the party for about two hours and made sure that the focus stayed on his fan appreciation. “He just really was all about his fans,” Juanyto added. “He really made sure he spent all of his time with them, and he thanked them for coming out. He said, ‘I don’t care how you get the album, as long as you have it, I appreciate it.’ ” Related Videos Chris Brown’s Epic Album Release Day Related Photos The Ups And Downs Of Chris Brown’s F.A.M.E. Lil Wayne’s Energy Is ‘Always Up,’ Cory Gunz Says

‘Regardless if you’re writing a verse for somebody else’s album, write it like it’s for yours,’ MC tells MTV News of what he’s learned from Weezy. By Jayson Rodriguez, with reporting by Sway Calloway Cory Gunz and Lil Wayne on the set of “6 Foot 7 Foot” Photo: Rahman Dukes/MTV News Long before Charlie Sheen proclaimed he only had one gear (“Go!”), Lil Wayne proved to be a high-octane performer. From his legendary mixtape run that saw the Cash Money rapper release a yacht-load of free material to his song-stealing cameo on DJ Khaled’s posse cut “We Takin’ Over,” Weezy is powered like an Energizer. It’s a lesson that isn’t lost on his latest prot

Lady Gaga’s ‘Government Hooker’ Makes Fashion-Show Debut

Dance track from Born This Way has a thumping beat and operatic vocals. By Jocelyn Vena Lady Gaga walks the runway during the Mugler Paris Women’s Fashion Week show Photo: Francois Durand/ Getty Images Lady Gaga managed to look like a seasoned pro when she hit the catwalk for Mugler’s Paris Women’s Fashion Week show , where she made her debut as a model. The singer donned two looks, one all-black and the other white, for her rousing appearance. While her runway appearance was certainly headline-making, it was the fact that Gaga previewed part of a Born This Way song for the fashionistas that was even more noteworthy. The dance track, “Government Hooker,” was the latest song Gaga has teased fans with from her May release. It featured a thumping beat, operatic vocals and a trance-y vibe. On it, she sings sexy lines like, “I can be anything/ I’ll be your everything/ Just touch me, baby.” The massive club track features Gaga’s full voice sharing requests like, “Put your hands on me.” On the track about desire, she sings, “I’m gonna drink my tears tonight/ I’m gonna drink my tears and cry/ ‘Cause I know you love me, baby.” During the show, she also played “Schei

Britney Spears Works With Travis Barker For Femme Fatale

After Rodney Jerkins discusses ‘out-of-the-box’ track, a rep for Barker confirms collabo to MTV News. By James Montgomery Britney Spears Photo: Courtesy of Zomba Records In a recent interview with MTV News, producer Rodney Jerkins said that, on her upcoming Femme Fatale album, Britney Spears got “hands-on,” supplying him with “a lot of ideas” and helping shape the energetic sound of the project. “She’s great. She gets it,” Jerkins said. “She is a top-notch veteran pro at this now.” So it should probably come as no surprise that, somewhere along the line, Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker came to be involved in recording the album — because, while we’re not sure if bringing him onboard was Britney’s idea, he is most certainly the kind who can bring the energy. And, as Jerkins said in a recent sit-down with Headline News’ “Showbiz Tonight,” the experience of working with Spears and Barker was a new one for everyone involved. “I’m really excited. … I did two songs on her album, and one of the songs I did, I brought in Travis Barker, and it’s got this rock feel which is out of the box, out of my norm, and I think it’s out of her norm as well,” Jerkins said. “We had a great time making this record.” Jerkins didn’t elaborate on much else about the Barker song or Britney’s album, saying only that the project is “classic Britney spears, uptempo heavy, of course. It’s new and different.” A spokesperson for Barker confirmed to MTV News that the collaboration happened “about a month ago” but, much like Jerkins, wouldn’t reveal any additional details of the song. Spears’ Femme Fatale is due March 29. What do you think of Britney Spears’ new music? Let us know in the comments! Hanson Say ‘Give A Little’ Video ‘Makes You Love The Song More’

Shout It Out ‘s message is ‘Get out there and let loose,’ Taylor Hanson says. By Jocelyn Vena Hanson Photo: MTV News The Hanson brothers released their latest music video, for their single “Give a Little,” on Tuesday (February 22). The sparse performance video for the Shout It Out track seamlessly includes dancers of all backgrounds showing off their skills. It’s a far cry from last year’s over-the-top clip for “Thinking ‘Bout Somethin’,” an homage to the Blues Brothers. Crediting much of the success of “Thinking ‘Bout Somethin’ ” to the video itself, Taylor Hanson said the guys have a new mission with this video. “With the ‘Give A Little’ video, we’re more thinking, ‘Hey this is about creating a template, a backdrop that just makes you love the song more,’ ” he explained to MTV News. “The difference with this song and the video is that it’s much simpler and much more about getting the song ingrained in your mind, thus was a very different thing.” The video is, in fact, pretty simple: It features cardboard cutouts, ballerinas, dancing couples, some paint splatter and even hip-hop dancers. The guys get in the action during a big dance break, playing instruments while surrounded by the clip’s various performers. “When we made the video, it was kind of the release after the high production of ‘Thinking ‘Bout Somethin’, ” Taylor explained. “With the ‘Give a Little’ video, it’s almost back to the blank slate. We invited all these dancers. We just set up a room, cranked up the music and threw a party and let people dance. The attitude is not about everyone doing the same moves; it’s about putting a unique twist.” The video’s dance theme makes tons of sense, given the song’s lyrics, including “Let your body lose control” and “You know she just wants to dance.” The guys explained that while they aren’t known for their killer moves, they enjoy the vibe that a song like this puts into the world. “There’s this energy to it,” Taylor said. “Strangely, there’s this dance theme. We’re not known for our dancing, but dancing is this metaphor that’s in the record. Kind of, ‘Get out there and let loose.’ “Spring will be here before we know it, and the song is upbeat and hopefully engaging.” Give us your review of the ‘Give a Little’ video in the comments section below! J. Cole, Wale NBA All-Star Weekend Show Features Drake, Melanie Fiona

Drake and J. Cole sing ‘In the Morning,’ before Fiona, Cole and Wale perform ‘Beautiful Bliss.’ By Steven Roberts, with additional reporting by Janice Llamoca J. Cole Photo: MTV News NBA All-Star Weekend is officially under way in Los Angeles, and Wale and J. Cole helped to kick it off with a sold-out show at the House of Blues in West Hollywood on Friday night. The Roc Nation duo treated their fans, who had braved the uncharacteristically cold and damp Southern California weather, with an amazing performance as well as a surprise guest. Drake hit the stage during J. Cole’s set to perform their salacious smash hit “In the Morning.” The crowd erupted as soon as the track began to play, but it got even louder once Drake hit the stage to seduce nearly every young lady in attendance with his romantic style. “Baby, you wintertime cold/ The night is still young, drink that dinner wine slow/ I’m trying to make the goose bumps on your inner thigh show.” J. Cole and Drake released the video for the track this past week on Valentine’s Day. It features behind-the-scenes footage from their Paris stop on Drake’s Lights, Dreams and Nightmares European tour. When MTV News caught up with Cole before the show, he said that video was meant to be something really organic, even though it’s becoming something much bigger. “It was really a viral video. At the end of the day, it wasn’t supposed to be a Hype Williams production or nothing. I wanted it to be really organic, just to document the tour. Just to document that moment in my life, or our lives, touring Europe for the first time.” Cole said this was his first All-Star weekend, and he loved the energy it brought to the town. He has been in L.A. for two weeks now, since the Grammy Awards as well as working on his project with Kendrick Lamar . He said he hopes to play in the All-Star celebrity game next year to fulfill his hoop dreams. Another Canadian singer hopped on the stage as well. Fellow Roc Nation artist Melanie Fiona joined Cole and Wale onstage for their first-ever performance of Wale’s “Beautiful Bliss.” Wale opened his show with his usual vigor. During his set, which included tracks from his More About Nothing mixtape and Attention Deficit, the crowd roared once his collaboration with Waka Flocka and Roscoe Dash came on. But by that time, he had already cleared a space for himself to dance and shake his dreads as the crowd helped him rap. As far as he was concerned, it was business as usual, making sure the crowd had an amazing time. “We’re used to this now. We’ve done a lot of sold-out shows together. I just think the significance of this is it being All-Star weekend,” Wale said. “I think being a quote-unquote ‘real’ hip-hop show, that’s what makes it special.”

Liam Neeson’s ‘Unknown’: The Reviews Are In!

Critics give high marks to Neeson, but are divided on neo-Hitchcockian thriller. By Shawn Adler January Jones and Liam Neeson in “Unknown” Photo: Warner Bros. With apologies to the groundhog, Liam Neeson is quickly becoming February’s biggest star. Two years after the action-thriller “Taken” made him perhaps Hollywood’s unlikeliest action star, the Oscar-nominated man who played Oskar Schindler is back to kick butt and take names in “Unknown,” a neo-Hitchcockian thriller about a man who awakens after a car accident to discover the life he thought he had has been taken away, possibly just an after-effect of amnesia. Is the movie itself worth forgetting? Here’s what the critics are saying: The Twist “As much as ‘Unknown’ tries to be an intelligent thriller for grown-ups, the premise is pretty silly and normally, when that’s the case, you know it’s going to lead to an equally silly twist. Dark Castle regular Jaume Collet-Serra’s previous movie ‘Orphan’ had one of the funniest twist endings possibly ever, though this doesn’t quite achieve that extreme of insanity because the plot is so based in thriller clich
