Killer Mike provided a strong countering argument that was just as vital as the preceding conversation, urging economic independence over political posturing. What sparked Tip and Owens’ tiff was a discussion over the “Make American Great Again” slogan, which prompted the Atlanta rapper and podcaster to ask when exactly was the country great, especially for Black Americans. While some points were made in the heated debate, Killer Mike’s words challenged the opposing panelists and the audience in attendance with grace and ease. She may even have a role in the film. Set It Off tells the story of four friends who end up robbing a series of different banks amid frustration over their low paying jobs. This was the film that would serve as the launching pad for director F. Gary Gray’s now illustrious career. Set It Off followed the hit movie Friday , which also was very well received at the time of its’ release. The four women who played in Set It Off — Jada Pinkett Smith, Queen Latifah, Vivica A. Fox, and Kimberly Elise — were essentially the first women in film to play a character that exhibited as much depth as male stars in similar films. Issa Rae, who served as co-creator and executive producer for Insecure , has familiarity acting in a role where a group of friends are required to navigate through the hardships of life. Positioned to make her presence felt on the big screen, HBO programming chief Casey Bloys tried to make it happen for Issa. “Issa became a big movie star,” Bloys explained. “We’re not the first place to deal with this, but when you’re in business with very creative and talented people, there’s a lot more opportunities for people to do things.”

Apple announced that everyone’s favorite stoner will have a recurring role in the first season of the Apple TV+ show Dickinson . In the upcoming show that stars Hailee Steinfield as Emily Dickinson, the “Black and Yellow” crafter will take on the role of Death. Per a release from Apple, the character is described by Apple as Dickinson’s “muse” in multiple episodes. Wiz was not featured in the show’s first trailer which gave us a first look at the show. In it for some reason has Steinfeld’s portrayal of Dickinson twerking and shouting in the air. For a while she agreed that he too was a victim, but now she’s coming for his coins. According to TMZ , Sabbag picked up a new lawyer who demanded a six-figure payment from Hart. The comedian turned down the alleged shake down, and here we are. Sabbag’s lawsuit is against Hart and J.T. Jackson, the latter is a former friend who allegedly recorded the tape without the comedian’s knowledge. Hart has reportedly been working with the D.A. on the case for over two years with Jackson facing up to 4 years in prison for extortion . However, Sabbag claims Hart was in on the tape to boost his fame. This theory is kind of suspect considering he was already the most famous comedian in the game and a sex tape is a bad look for his family man image. Hart is currently recovering from a car accident that left him with serious back injuries.

Sources are saying that Brown’s refusal to settle the matter out of court after the deadline passed last week has led to the revelation of the explosive details . ESPN reports : Antonio Brown declined to sign a $2 million-plus agreement with Britney Taylor to settle a sexual assault allegation made by the wide receiver’s former trainer, sources told ESPN’s Jeff Darlington. Brown had a deadline last Sunday night to sign the settlement agreement before Taylor’s attorneys sought to file their civil lawsuit against him. After Brown didn’t sign off on the settlement, the suit was filed Tuesday. Settlement discussions began as early as April and included two mediations, one of which occurred in May, sources familiar with the talks told Darlington. Brown’s decision not to sign the settlement came around the same time that he agreed to a deal with the New England Patriots, which his agent revealed Sept. 7 and was formalized Monday. Taylor alleges that Brown assaulted her on two occasions in 2017 and 2018, but Brown’s legal team is standing firm that the relationship and acts between Brown and Taylor were of a consensual nature. — Photo:

Unfortunately for her, she’ll never actually get her groove back (before going to jail) because Ghost won’t let her be happy. Let me rephrase that, she won’t be able to get her groove back as long as her narcissistic ex is alive . This is beyond f–k boy because Ghost has proven that he will actually kill anyone that Tasha loves as we’ve seen him do to Terry Silver. Here’s the deal about potential new bae, Tasha finally opened up her new daycare. One of her, ahem, clients is a sexy man named “Q,” and their chemistry is undeniable from the moment they first lock eyes. We knew they would get it on. They almost did, in Tasha’s office on top of a desk, but Tasha remembered who she was and stopped it. Her life is just too complicated and dangerous to be playing with people’s hearts, knowing that they might get killed simply by being affiliated with her. There was even a moment when Ghost came to the daycare to talk to her because she called him out on yet another crappy and selfish decision. Basically, he dissolved Raina’s trust fund and forged Tasha’s signature to do it. Ghost is using that money for the Queens Child Project and probably to pay Jason too, but Tasha feels like she’s entitled to half of that money, which she is. Anyway, he comes to confront her about demanding half and slowing down what he has going on, and Q interrupts the party. Tasha swiftly rushes Q outside to chat with him and Ghost hit him with the stare down the entire time like: Q says he’s not afraid of Ghost and that he has dealt with worse. Obviously, he doesn’t know who he’s dealing with, so we’ll see how this goes. Either Q is an agent sent to create more chaos, or he really is a naive law-abiding citizen who wants to see what life with Tasha could be all about. But then he admitted that he killed Terry because he kinda sorta still loved her. Obviously, this isn’t love. Let’s be real, Ghost is like a lot of toxic men who don’t really love their woman but will do anything they can to control them. Ghost being trash is a weekly theme. The other interesting point of note in the episode is that Proctor killed his ex-wife. It wasn’t directly but he’s an evil genius. He lied and told her that he was engaged, then had a fake letter sent to her from a law firm, denying her employment. He did all of this to trigger her enough to binge on drugs, which she did. Things got so bad that his daughter called him over for help because mom was spazzing out. She spazzed herself right to death. Proctor pulled out his phone and initially planned to call 911, but when she started foaming at the mouth he decided to let death do what it do. The only problem is, he said out loud, “I’m not gonna let you take her from me,” and you can hear that he didn’t call 911. His daughter’s backpack, the one that Saxe had bugged, was sitting right there, recording everything. Things looked shady af for Tommy too. His mom got to spend some time with Keisha and made it a point to mention Holly’s disappearance. Basically, Tommy’s mom doesn’t trust Keisha and wants Tommy to be smart about her. She feels like Keisha will always put her son first, as she should. However, Tommy is hardheaded, even though his mom has been right before. People on this show have had nine lives, but I get the feeling that won’t be the case this season.
