The incident began when Danni Starr was “ambushed” by her co-hosts who invited a woman she denied a babysitting job to the show. The results were a heated argument and Danni Starr abruptly leaving the show. Cathy Hughes has issued a statement regarding the drama, showing her support for a fellow woman in media. Source: Radio One / Radio One Yesterday I co-hosted The Fam on WKYS 93.9 FM in Washington D.C. with the female talent of this station as an act of solidarity to support the show’s co-host Danni Starr who was placed in an embarrassing situation on live radio Thursday – International Women’s Day. The aftermath of this emotionally charged interaction became national news and has played out on social media for the past 48 hours. After a full investigation, I’ve learned this incident was a radio prank ‘gone bad.’ None of our talent were adequately informed or prepared to have effectively executed this prank on Danni Starr. We have taken the necessary steps to resolve this matter. I agreed with Danni Starr’s expressed public sentiments that QuickSilva and DJ 5’9 are good guys who would never deliberately harm her or intentionally cause her embarrassment. I stand firmly behind The Fam and will be providing the team a time of healing and refocus so they can continue to entertain, inspire and inform our listeners in the morning. To that end, next week’s show will be hosted by KYS DC’s afternoon drive personality Angie Ange and Baltimore Q92’s Konan, who himself is DC homegrown. Our forever president and first lady are exploring their Post-White House career options, and their last move could see them signing a deal with Netflix. According to The New York Times , Barack and Michelle are in talks to produce a series of shows for Netflix. A source close to the negotiations revealed the exciting news, explaining, “President and Mrs. Obama have always believed in the power of storytelling to inspire.” “Throughout their lives, they have lifted up stories of people whose efforts to make a difference are quietly changing the world for the better,” the insider added. “As they consider their future personal plans, they continue to explore new ways to help others tell and share their stories.” Although Barack has appeared on David Letterman’s Netflix show before, this might not seem like an obvious partnership at first. However, Barack and Michelle have something unique to offer as Netflix strategizes its upcoming slate of shows, specials, and films. The streaming service has declared its intentions to push for more original content, which could be its way to buffer the massive loss of content once Disney pulls the majority of its properties from Netflix. That includes most of Marvel’s shows and movies and Star Wars films. With the Obamas, Netflix has an opportunity to present a new type of content. Reportedly, one of the shows will feature Barack leading thought-provoking conversations about topics like health care, immigration, climate change, and voting rights–which were all huge policy issues during his time in office. There’s no word on what kind of show Michelle might lead at this time. Legendary hype man Flavor Flav will have to find out the hard way. According to reports , Flav owes $3.1 million in back taxes. $1.4 million of that debt was accumulated when Flav was filming the second season of the popular reality show“Flavor of Love”back in 2007. The total amount, $3,185,860.18, was amassed throughout ten years in which he did not pay anything (2005-2015). It’s also not Flavor Flav’s first time dancing with the IRS. In 2012 Flav was hit with a tax lien for almost $1 million and it’s unknown if the rapper has paid anything towards settling that debt. The IRS will now try to collect tax debts and could begin garnishing Flav’s income or seizing any some of his assets.
