We did the research and spoke to one of the producers on the film. Keep scrolling for the answers: 1. Were Bobbi Kristina & Nick Gordon Siblings? Source: Imeh Akpanudosen / Getty Bobbi Kristina and Nick Gordon were not actually related. Whitney never legally adopted Gordon. According to reports , she took Nick in because his mother couldn’t take care of him anymore and allegedly “put him out.” According to Michael Houston, Gordon was “like a son to her.” However, Gordon was not in Whitney’s will and she left her full estate to Bobbi Kristina, who would have inherited it at 30-years-old. 2. What Is The Significance Of Britt’s Character In The Movie? Bobbi Kristina’s real life friend Alex Reid played a significant role in her life and in her budding music careee. The pop singer played herself in the film, under the character name Britt, and provided insight into Bobbi K’s tumultuous relationship with Nick Gordon. 3. How Did TV One Come Up With The Script? Source: Lee Celano / Getty “For this movie, we had the producers from Being Bobby Brown and The Houstons [Tracey Baker Simmons and Wanda Shelley], who were the executive producers,” said Robyn Greene Arrington , Vice President of Original Programming & Production at TV One. “Part of the development of this script was talking with Bobbi Kristina’s real friends including Alexandria Reid [who plays “Britt”]. Another childhood friend who was on the production side of it was Jacob Brumfield, Tracey Baker Simmons’ son, they grew up together.” 4. Did Nick Gordon Propose To Bobbi Kristina With Whitney’s Ring? Yes. Nick Gordon repurposed the ring Whitney Houston gave Bobbi K as her engagement ring and we watched it all play out on reality TV on The Houstons: On Our Own . Similar to the TV movie, Pat Houston was visibly upset when she heard about their alleged nuptials. 5. Could Bobbi Kristina Sing? Bobbi Kristina was reportedly pursuing her own music career before her untimely death. According to Bobbi K’s cousin Jerod Brown, she was “excited” about it. “She was real focused,” Jerod told E! Online . “She was ecstatic about her new journey that was embarking on…you could see it on Instagram when she commented on it with the fans as well. She was ready to do this and let the world see what she was working on.”   6. Did Nick Gordon & Bobbi Kristina’s Cousin Gary Michael Houston Get Into A Fight? Source: Shareif Ziyadat / Getty According to TMZ , Nick Gordon and Gary Michael got into a physical altercation at a family member’s sweet 16 birthday party. Michael reportedly slammed Nick on the floor and pummeled his face. Nick allegedly showed up to the formal function in a hoodie and hat “looking like a thug.” Nick tweeted, “F*** all of em they’ve tried to fight me (Gary H) jealous ass n***a.”  Michael responded, “”He still kind a sore from that last trip I sent him on smh …. I tried to tell him to buckle up lol.” 7. Was Nick Gordon Cheating On Bobbi Kristina? Several reports claim Nick Gordon was unfaithful to Bobbi Kristina. It is rumored Gordon cheated with Bobbi K’s friend Danyela Bradley, who he was reportedly seen wheeling out the hospital, in a wheelchair, the day after Bobbi K was found in the bath tub. 8. Did Nick Gordon Physically Beat Bobbi Kristina Before Her Death? In an exclusive interview with E! News, Alex Reid revealed Nick Gordon was physically abusive to Bobbi Kristina. “He was known to choke her, definitely,” Reid explained. “Throw her into walls. Punch her in the jaw. Just, like, unbelievable stuff.” She added, “She would FaceTime me whenever she was distraught. When something had just happened or show me a bruise.” 9. How Did Bobbi Kristina Die? Source: Jason LaVeris / Getty On January 31, 2015 Bobbi Kristina was found unresponsive in her Georgia home by her boyfriend,  Nick Gordon ,  face down in their bathtub. It is believed she was without oxygen for quite some time.  Sources say Bobbi was revived and rushed to North Fulton Hospital where she was stabilized, but was able to breathe only with the help of a ventilator with very little brain activity. But things took a turn for the worse when Bobbi was placed in a medically-induced coma. Her condition was described as “significantly diminished,” and tragically, only worsened from there. In April, Cissy Houston told the press that her granddaughter had “ global and irreversible brain damage .” On June 24, 2015 Pat Houston said the family would be moving her to hospice care. “Despite the great medical care at numerous facilities, Bobbi Kristina Brown’s condition has continued to deteriorate,” Houston said in a statement to the press. “As of today, she has been moved into hospice care. We thank everyone for their support and prayers. She is in God’s hands now.” A source close to the family later said that she had also been taken off her meds and the family was told she would pass at any moment. Bobbi Kristina’s eerie and untimely death came months after the third anniversary of Whitney’s death on Feb. 11, 2012 (which was ruled an accidental drowning). Kenyon Martin Regrets Clowning Jeremy Lin’s Locks: ‘Never Meant To Be Racial’

Go here to see the original:

Source: Doug Pensinger / Getty Retired NBA All Star Kenyon Martin told Sports Illustrated that his comments about Brooklyn Nets guard  Jeremy Lin ‘s locks were just playful banter, not racial hatred. K-Mart also revealed that his joke that Lin wants to be black caused some trolls to call him “nigger,” while others messaged his son. Martin said, “I recently erased the post off my page. People were sending messages to my son. Like, no. Say whatever to me and about me. I have thick skin. I know what my intentions were. But then those are the things that are coming across. You n—– this. Your n—– that. Sports Illustrated has the full interview, here are the highlights: Kenyon Martin: This was never meant to be racial. It was thought of as what would’ve been done in our locker room. It would’ve been jokes. We would’ve been making jokes. It’s far from racist. I guess saying “Wanting to be black” made it racial. But I despise people that look down because of race. It was meant to be a “Ha Ha Ha” moment. If you watch, I was laughing in the statements. It got taken too far. I wanted to clear the air. I don’t know Jeremy. He’s had a few crazy hairstyles before and I had the same thought process: ‘WTF.’ But I wasn’t trying to be racist. I didn’t even know he did the Players Tribune thing. RN: So to be clear, what was your intention? KM: If you listen to it, I was saying he wouldn’t have made it in our locker room. We would’ve made jokes every single day. He is a grown man. He can rock whatever hairstyle he wants to rock. People missed all of that. Just like I’m a grown man. I can say whatever I want. RN: Anything else you want to get off your chest? KM: I have no problem with Jeremy, man. People were attacking me, calling me racist or n—–. I didn’t call him any kind of derogatory thing. He has the right to rock any hairstyle he wants. It got out of control. It wasn’t meant to be anything more than banter. Jeremy is an athlete and I would hope he understood that this was in fun and not to offend and as long as he’s not offended that’s all that matters. I wish him well. RN: Have you spoken to Jeremy?  KM: I DM’d him after the fact. I’m a grown man. I can admit if something got out of control or if I did something wrong. I’m trying to get his phone number as we speak so we can clear the air.

Federal Judge To Dismiss Second BLM Suit

Read the rest here:

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — A federal judge says he intends to dismiss a lawsuit that accuses Black Lives Matter and several movement leaders of inciting violence that led to a gunman’s deadly ambush of law enforcement officers in Baton Rouge last year. U.S. District Judge Brian Jackson issued that warning in an order Wednesday, less than a week after ruling Black Lives Matter is a social movement and therefore can’t be sued. Last Thursday, Jackson threw out a police officer’s lawsuit blaming Black Lives Matter and movement leader DeRay Mckesson for injuries he sustained during a protest over a deadly police shooting in Baton Rouge last year. The officer’s lawyer also attempted to add “#BlackLivesMatter” as a defendant, but Jackson ruled a hashtag can’t be sued either. Now the judge is vowing to dismiss a separate suit filed on behalf of a sheriff’s deputy wounded in the July 2016 attack that killed three other officers in Baton Rouge. The same Baton Rouge-based attorney, Donna Grodner, filed both suits. The judge is giving her until Oct. 13 to respond to his order and present arguments why the deputy’s case shouldn’t be dismissed. Grodner declined to comment Thursday on the judge’s order or say whether she plans to appeal last week’s ruling. Mckesson, a Baltimore, Maryland, resident and four other Black Lives Matter leaders were named as defendants in the suit that Grodner filed on behalf of one of the officers wounded in the July 17, 2016, attack by Gavin Long, a black military veteran from Kansas City, Missouri. The suit doesn’t name the plaintiff, but its description of the wounded officer matches East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Deputy Nicholas Tullier, who was has been at a Houston rehabilitation hospital since November. Long, a 29-year-old former Marine, was armed with a semi-automatic rifle when he killed three officers and wounded three others outside a convenience store and car wash near Baton Rouge police headquarters before he was shot dead. Long had posted rambling internet videos calling for violence in response to police treatment of African-Americans, which he said constituted “oppression.” He apparently posted a YouTube video from Dallas on July 10, three days after a sniper killed five officers and wounded nine others there. The attack came less than two weeks after a white Baton Rouge police officer shot and killed Alton Sterling, a 37-year-old black man. Mckesson was one of nearly 200 people arrested in Louisiana’s capital at nightly protests after Sterling’s death. The wounded deputy’s lawsuit claimed Mckesson was “in charge of” a July 9 protest that “turned into a riot” and described Long as an “activist whose actions followed and mimicked those of” the sniper who killed officers in Dallas, But the judge said that latter claim is “not altogether relevant.” Otherwise, the judge wrote, the lawsuit is “devoid of any facts that tend to demonstrate that any of the named Defendants, in particular, are liable for the alleged injuries suffered by Plaintiff, even assuming that those Defendants have the capacity to be sued.” Later Thursday, Mckesson tweeted a link to The Associated Press story on the judge’s order, saying “I’m happy to get both of these lawsuits behind me as I did nothing wrong in either case.”   Like BlackAmericaWeb.com on  Facebook . Hollywood Producer Accused Of Sexual Harassment Quotes Made-up ‘4:44’ In Apology

View post:

Source: Dave Kotinsky / Getty Really bruh? The explosive New York Times report accusing Hollywood producer and mogul Harvey Weinstein of sexual harassment includes a strange statement from Weinstein himself. The “Pulp Fiction” and “Scream” producer claims to be quoting collaborator JAY-Z ‘s  4:44 album to show his remorse, but there is no records of the lyrics he’s referencing. Weinstein’s statement: Jay Z wrote in 4:44 “I’m not the man I thought I was and I better be that man for my children.” The same is true for me. Was he thinking of these lyrics? And if my children knew I don’t even know what I would do If they ain’t look at me the same I would prob’ly die with all the shame SPIN  has the full report: Weinstein’s statement also referenced an ostensible quote from “4:44,” Jay-Z ’s song of contrition for apparently cheating on his wife Beyoncé . (Weinstein and Jay-Z are also in business together on multiple film and TV projects , including one involving Lisa Bloom , an attorney who is helping defend Weinstein from these allegations.) The quote is ridiculous on his face–having an affair is not the same thing sexually violating multiple women–and is made even more so by the fact that it’s not really a Jay-Z quote at all.
