One of the biggest fears that kept so many people silent about their experiences before the Harvey Weinstein rape accusations and the numerous outings that have followed was the fear of reprisal. Well, Rose McGowan spoke up. In fact, she’s been one of the most prominent voices in the efforts to expose and cast out harassers and abusers in the entertainment industry. And now she’s been arrested … for drug charges that date back to the beginning of 2017. If you’d told us years ago that Rose McGowan was going to be at the forefront of a chorus of brave voices calling for a shift in the culture that makes women afraid to be alone with their male coworkers … Actually, we’d have believed you. It was in 2016 that Rose McGowen revealed that she’d been raped by a Hollywood executive. We didn’t know by whom, at the time, though rumors have surrounded a number of powerful men in Hollywood for years and even decades. Almost exactly one year after she revealed her sexual assault, Rose McGowan named Harvey Weinstein as her rapist . She was, at that point, adding her voice to others — who had accused Weinstein of grotesque harassment as well as sexual assault. But we still cannot imagine the kind of bravery that she needed to muster in order to speak up. It appears that Rose McGowan’s outspokenness may have come back to bite her. We don’t know if this is some sort of reprisal or just a very unfortunate and unjust coincidence. Just at the end of October, we learned that a warrant for Rose McGowan’s arrest had been issued . The warrant was issued in Virginia. See, Rose McGowan apparently behind a bag on a plane. (Never do that, folks — you might lose it, and someone might also assume that it’s a bomb and start a panic) Allegedly, tests showed that there were traces of an illicit substance — cocaine — on the bag. We’re talking about traces , here, so aside from the fact that every adult has the natural right to put whatever they want to in their bodies, this sounds like pretty thin evidence. Also, “trace evidence” of drugs is notorious for producing false positives. Most people just don’t have the resources to fight a charge and they cop a plea. The warrant for her arrest was obtained on February 1st, but apparently nobody bothered to tell Rose McGowan until late October. Maybe they saw her name in the news and somebody got excited at the idea of arresting a celebrity. But some, Rose included, have wondered if there might have been something more serious at work. “Are they trying to silence me? There is a warrant out for my arrest in Virginia,” Rose tweeted. “What a load of HORSES–T!” But, as ridiculous as the whole situation sounds, Rose McGowan traveled to Virginia and turned herself in. She was booked, briefly, before being released on $5,000 bond. This is Rose McGowan’s first arrest. She has a reputation for “making trouble,” but that’s only because she calls out people and has zero chill about it. Is this suddenly revived warrant revenge or an attempt to silence her and others? If so, it’s not working. Women are still coming forward every day. But with the timing of everything, we can understand why Rose and many of her fans would have their suspicions. Last month, the world was shocked to learn that Kylie Jenner is pregnant with her first child, As the 20-year-old had never previously expressed an interest in having children or, for that matter, anything other than herself, her social media presence, and her cosmetics line, many fans suspected the whole thing might be a farce. Now, “evidence” that Kylie is “faking” her pregnancy has supposedly emerged on Snapchat–and fans are debating and dissecting this pic like it’s the freakin’ Zapruder film. Recently, Kylie and some friends took a road trip. As is customary for young folks hitting the highway, their first stop was at a convenience store, where they loaded up on the kind of snacks you can only eat when you’re 20 or pregnant. Since Kylie is both (or is she?!), the calorie count crept toward the seven-figure range. But it wasn’t the fact that Kylie and friends shop like they’re on their way to a party hosted by Seth Rogen and Snoop Dogg that caught fans’ attention. No, what really stood out about the pic was the item in the top right-hand corner. Yes, as you can see, someone on the trip bought tampons. And since the most salacious explanation is that Kylie bought the plunked down for the Playtex because she’s totes not pregnant. that’s the one many fans went with. We gave her the benefit of the doubt and assumed that the tampons belonged to one of her traveling companions. But as it turns out, everyone was wrong. Or at least that’s the claim being made by a source who claims to know Kylie best: “She’s loving the attention of everyone wondering about her pregnancy, she’s having fun teasing people,” the insider tells Hollywood Life. And why would Kylie engage in such pettiness? Well, as it turns out she’s bored out of her mind these days “Kylie definitely isn’t loving every minute of being pregnant, and she’s struggling with Travis being away so much,” the source says. “He’s doing everything he can to be supportive, but it’s difficult whilst he’s touring.” Yes, apparently, Queen Kylie has grown weary of this tiresome gestation process and pranking the plebes is the only thing that still entertains her. Interestingly, Kylie has yet to announce that she’s pregnant , and fans have merely taken her silence on the matter as tacit confirmation that she’s expecting. Portia de Rossi is out for some kind of justice against Steven Seagal. And we really hope she gets it. The veteran actress took to Twitter on Wednesday to level a serious accusation against the former action star, claiming Seagal made a clear sexual advance in her direction a number of years ago. Here is how de Rossi described the disturbing scene: My final audition for a Steven Segal movie took place in his office. He told me how important it was to have chemistry off-screen as he sat me down and unzipped his leather pants. I ran out and called my agent. Unfazed, she replied, “well, I didn’t know if he was your type.” Jeez. It’s hard to even say what’s more troubling here: The actions of Seagal or the response of Portia’s agent? The Arrested Development and Scandal actress has made this claim not long after Julianna Margulies outlined a similar encounter with Seagal back when Margulies was just 23 years old. “A casting director, a woman, said, ‘Steven Seagal wants to go over the scene with you in his hotel room at 10 o’clock at night,’” The Good Wife star told Jenny Hutt on SiriusXM’s Just Jenny last Friday. For understandable reasons, Margulies explained that she was hesitant to follow this direction. She tried to make excuses for why she couldn’t attend the random and possibly shady meeting. “I lived in Brooklyn, and I said, ‘Oh, I don’t do that. I don’t travel. I don’t have money for a cab.’ And I didn’t,” Margulies said on the show, adding: “And I said, ‘And I don’t take subways late at night.’ And she says, ‘Don’t worry, we’ll reimburse you. And I’m here, a woman.’ I got to the hotel at 10:40, and she wasn’t there. And he was. Alone. And he made sure that I saw his gun, which I had never seen a gun in real life. “And I got out of there unscathed.” Ummm… WTH?!? Seagal has not made a movie in ages, and yet has been in the news often of late. First, he slammed the NFL and looked like this in an interview: Steven Seagal Slams NFL in Bizarre Interview, Resembles Various Types of Villains Then, footage surfaced of Seagal referring to female journalists as bitches . So, we’re not saying de Rossi and Margulies are 100% telling the truth for sure. We’re just saying we wouldn’t be surprised if they were. Last month, Inside Edition correspondent Lisa Guerrero went public with her own alleged encounter, stating that Seagal answered the door of an audition one time “in a silk robe and nothing else.” Guerrero went on to claim that she was cut from a movie after refusing to go to Seagal’s dressing room. In the wake of the Harvey Weinstein rape accusations that have come to light, more and more people are coming together to share their #MeToo stories … and to name names and try to break the culture of silence that allows sexual predators to operate. Earlier this week, Gossip Girl actor Ed Westwick was accused of rape by an actress. Actress Kristina Cohen came forward and named Ed Westwick, accusing him of having raped her in 2014. At the time, Kristina was dating a producer who was friends with Ed Westwick. When they joined him for dinner, she felt uncomfortable when Westwick allegedly suggested that they all have sex. (It’s unclear if he was joking at that time, though sexual predators have been known to use “humor” to get a feel for someone, always with the plausible deniability of “hey, just kidding!” if they get called out on it) Kristina Cohen then describes how she said that she was tired and wanted to leave, but her producer friend wanted to stay for another 20 minutes to be polite, so Ed Westwick suggested that she take a nap in the guest room. Kristina recounts how she woke up with Westwick’s fingers inside of her. She accuses Westwick of holding her down with his weight, grabbing her face and shaking her head, and raping her. She says that the producer whom she was dating blamed her and also warned her against speaking out, both shaming and silencing her. If you find that story as disturbing as we do, you should be happy to know that police are investigating Ed Westwick for rape . Aurelie Wynn has found the courage to share her #MeToo story … and you’ll find her story familiar and disturbing. “In July 2014, I went through a very similar ordeal with Ed Westwick, I was ubered by Ed to the Glendower Estates where he was renting following an invite from a girl friend of mine who was dating his roommate a cast member on Glee.” The Glee actor involvement? That’s important. We’ll get to that. “We all hung out until 5am, sun was starting to rise since it was summer so we all decided to get a few hours of shut eye since we all had events and things to do the next day and there are plenty of bedrooms.” This is sounding all too familiar. Now, Aurelie skips some details here. The specifics of a sexual assault can be very difficult to write down, especially on social media. We imagine that she intends for us to read between the lines, based upon Kristina Cohen’s account and common sense. If she takes this to police, she’ll have to fill in the blanks. “And like Kristina, I said no and he pushed me face down and was powerless under his weight. I was wearing a one piece bathing suit that he ripped, I was in complete shock, I am also very tiny.” One, this is awful and horrifying. Two, we can confirm that Aurelie is tiny, just based upon her social media photos. She takes selfies with short people and still looks short beside them. She’s very petite. “When it was over I got my cellphone and found that the girl that had invited me had left or got kicked out. I had terrible service in the estate without access to the wifi and had to get another friend to get me an Uber out of there while Ed was passed out.” Awful and frightening. Aurelie Wynn continues. “I told the guy I was seeing that I got raped, Mark Salling, and when he found out by who he pretended not to know him, then blamed me for it and broke it off with me.” A little over a month ago, Glee actor Mark Salling plead guilty to child porn charges . He’s gross, even beyond the victim-blaming that Aurelie describes. It’s worth noting that, though the case fell through, Mark Salling was also accused of rape . (That case was thrown out because of how much time had passed — don’t even get us started on that) Aurelie continues to describe the bitter aftermath: “My other friends and people around me told me it was best not to say anything, to not be ‘that girl’ and that no one would believe me and think I was just out trying to get my 10 seconds of fame.” That closely mirrors what Kristina has described after her own alleged rape. Sadly, too many people — not just those in the entertainment business — would prefer to not know or not believe that evil walks among us, ruining lives and still being adored by fans and friends. “And so I kept quiet and soon got to see and hear how prevalent sexual assault and intimidation goes on in this industry…to the point where I questioned how much I really wanted to be in entertainment as I didn’t see it getting better.” She reached her conclusion. “I’ve since moved on from acting and wanted just to reenforce Kristin Cohen’s claim[s] as I believe them to be true.” It is so sad that she got chased out of pursuing her dream by such a nightmarish experience. But it’s astoundingly brave for her to speak up now and lend her voice to Kristian Cohen’s accusation. Aurelie continues: “I believe you Kristina Cohen and thank you for speaking up so eloquently and really encompassing what young female actresses have to go through at the hands of men like Ed Westwick.” She credits Kristina and her story for encouraging her to share her own. “Without you I would not have had the strength to speak up publicly about my ordeal. # metoo ” There are too many #MeToo stories, and yet we know that millions of women have yet to share theirs. Judy Eddy/WENN.com Flavor Flav Is Hosting A New Variety Show Though he’s been keeping a fairly low profile for the past few years, Flavor Flav is looking to get back in the entertainment world, which he’s done successfully by announcing the development of his new Las Vegas-based variety show. Named Flavor Flav’s Vegas, the program will feature the Public Enemy rapper interviewing celebrities, participating in comedy sketches and listening to the sweet sounds of some dope musical guests. Flav said about the upcoming show, “I always dreamed of being a variety show host, and I think it’s about time. And Las Vegas needs a talk show. I want to be the one to bring Vegas its first real live talk show. It won’t just be me interviewing guests, but also I’m going to have a variety of people coming through my show that are in movies, television, etc.” The variety show seems to be in pretty good hans, as it will be directed by Leon Knowles–previously known for working on the Arsenio Hall Show, The Talk, Last Comic Standing and America’s Got Talent. Grammy-winning Teddy Riley will serve as the music director for the series. This definitely isn’t the only trick Flav has up his sleeve, either. The rapper is joining an all-star cast for the augmented reality component to Master of the Sun – The Zombie Chronicles, a Marvel Comics graphic novel. The voice cast, in addition to Mr. Flav, also features Stan Lee, Queen Latifah, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige and Rosario Dawson.
