This just in: There is nothing just in at The Today Show. Despite chatter online yesterday of  Natalie Morales and Willie Geist being fired – along with Tamron Hall being demoted and Al Roker simply being a nut case – all four hosts were very much behind their microphones this morning on the NBC program. And they found the firing rumors to be a source of only partially awkward humor. Today Show Mocks Anchor Shake-Up Rumors “Aren’t you supposed to be at MSNBC?” Roker joked to Morales, while Hall said she “read on the Internet” that her colleagues weren’t supposed to be there. Geist, who appeared on the show via satellite from Brooklyn, also addressed the rumors, saying many times that the recent headlines are “erroneous.” “Natalie and I walked into work yesterday and we looked at each other and said ‘What are you doing here?’…” he joked, before turning serious: “I do want to say, and I know Natalie feels the same way, when this totally erroneous report came out, the support and the concern blew me away on Twitter and Facebook and phone calls and emails. So, it just reaffirmed for me how special this show is, how great our viewers are and I’m so grateful for all of that.” Hall then noted how “amazing” it is, the way rumors can spread like wildfire on the World Wide Web. “In this day and age, one thing, and people repeat it,” she said. Did anyone play telephone?!?” We don’t really care much about who anchors Today. We’re just glad something took America’s attention away from those Kim Kardashian nude photos for a short while.
