Mya-Lecia Naylor, Popular British Actress, Dead at 16

Devastating news today out of the entertainment industry: Mya-Lecia Naylor, a British actress best known for her roles on the programs Almost Never and Millie Inbetween, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday. She was 16 years old. The tragedy was confirmed late Wednesday evening by CBBC, which released the following statement: We are so sorry to have to tell you that Mya-Lecia, who you will know from ‘Mille Inbetween’ and ‘Almost Never’, has very sadly died. Mya-Lecia was a much loved part of the BBC Children’s family, and a hugely talented actress, singer and dancer. We will miss her enormously and we are sure that you will want to join us in sending all our love to her family and friends. It remains unclear at this time just what caused the death of this rising British star. In a statement of her own to E! News, Alice Webb, Director at BBC Childrens said the following: “We are distraught and so terribly sad to hear the news about Mya. She has shone so brightly on our screens, both in Millie Inbetween and Almost Never, and it’s unthinkable that she won’t be part of our journey going forward. “She was hugely popular with our audience, a very talented actress, dancer and singer, and a real role model for her young fans.” All we can verify at the moment, courtesy of Naylor’s agents, A&J Management, is that the young actress collapsed prior to her passing. Aside from her acting credits, Naylor was an aspiring model and singer. She got her start as a toddler on the beloved British sitcom Absolutely Fabulous. From there, Mya-Lecia booked roles in television movies and miniseries before landing her biggest role on the CBBC series Millie Inbetween. Following four years on the show, she transitioned over to the CBBC comedy/drama Almost Never. The official Instagram account for this latter series also mourned Naylor’s death last night, sharing the photo below along with a heartfelt statement that reads: Our thoughts are with Mya-Lecia’s family, friends and everyone that loved her at this very sad time. RIP Mya-Lecia. Many other tributes have also been posted online. For example, this is what I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here star Emily Atack, who previously worked with Naylor, wrote: She was a beautiful and talented girl. A complete joy to be around on the set of Almost Never. Sending all my love to her family & friends. Rest in peace beautiful girl. Writer Matt Leys, who worked on Millie Inbetween with Naylor, referred to the news as “absolutely heartbreaking” on Twitter and added: “Goodbye our brilliant, funny, lovely Fran. You were a miracle. Watching the cast of Millie Inbetween grow with their characters, inform them, let us write it around them, has been an absolute joy. This is such awful, devastating news.” As you can see here, he also tried to comfort fans who were stunned and saddened over the news: In an April interview with TresA Magazine, the late actress noted that she had “some amazing projects” on the horizon. Such an awful tragedy. May Mya-Lecia Naylor rest in peace. View Slideshow: Celebrities Who Died in 2019: In Memoriam

Where’s Rob…Or Tyga? Blac Chyna Sued By Landlord For Owing $48,000 In Back Rent

Source: Paras Griffin / Getty No one knows what Blac Chyna does to make money these days, but we do know that she has two rich-ish baby daddies, which is why it’s kind of shocking that model reportedly owes $48,000 in back rent. According to TMZ , Chyna’s landlord is suing her for breaking the lease on her Studio City home almost five months early and not paying back the $48K she owes. “In the suit, the landlord says Chyna’s lease called her to be there through March 2019 … but for some reason she upped and moved back in November 2018. Chyna owed $55,546 for about 5 months of rent. The landlord subtracted her $25k deposit, but tacked on $18k in damages he claims she removed “fixtures and equipment” from the pad. The landlord is suing her for that amount plus interest and attorney’s fees.” The news comes just a month after it was reported that Rob Kardashian no longer has to pay Chyna child support for their daughter Dream. Meanwhile, the former dancer’s first baby daddy Tyga just dropped a whopping $500K on a new archangel chain. View this post on Instagram Who just dropped $500,000 on a custom diamond Ben Baller chain? Tyga … TYGAAAA???? Yes. Tyga. Some of the highlights: I set pear shaped solitaire VVS clarity diamonds in the halo of St Michael. I added baguettes to the feathers of his wings and even baguette diamonds on his sword. I even iced out the sides of his custom 1 of a kind Cuban link(I made the links with 2 different sized diamonds with the big diamonds having a pavé set border) The devil being stepped on represents satan aka the haters have been defeated and also specifies that @tyga had the biggest comeback of 2018 #Tyga even copped matching pieces for his team. You know who to hit when it comes to making custom genuine fine jewelry. @ifandco NO CVD or HPHT or CE diamonds ever. #IFANDCO or nothing at all A post shared by

Howard University And Lionsgate Create Internship Program To Diversify The Entertainment Industry

Read the original here:

H oward University and Lionsgate have joined forces in an effort to tackle Hollywood’s diversity issues. The HBCU and the entertainment company have launched an internship program to teach students the ins and outs of television and film, Deadline reported. Thanks to @Lionsgate , students at Howard University in D.C. are getting a chance to learn the entertainment business through paid internship programs https://t.co/32IuNnmVN5 — Deadline Hollywood (@DEADLINE) April 11, 2019 The program—which initially started at UCLA—is designed to build a pipeline of diverse students and open up career pathways for them to enter the industry. During the internship program, six to 12 students will have the opportunity to work across various departments in the company, go on field trips, attend lectures from prominent individuals in the industry and work on their own projects. The effort to bring the program to Howard was led by alumni Sen. Kamala Harris . The institution’s president Wayne A. I. Frederick says that the internship program will be an integral part of ensuring that the next generation of Hollywood executives is diverse. “Howard University has produced several graduates from film, law, business and theater who have paved their own paths into Hollywood through their persistence, however there is more work to do before the entertainment industry reflects the diverse audiences it serves,” Frederick said in a statement, according to the news outlet. “I applaud our partners at Lionsgate for building a bridge from higher education to the workplace which will help diversify Hollywood behind the camera and create a new generation of executives.” Lionsgate Vice Chairman Michael Burns added that students in the program are “creating opportunities for us to make our workplace more diverse and our storytelling richer and more varied.” Both Lionsgate and Howard hope that they can set the example for other HBCUs and entertainment companies to follow suit. Programs that create career pathways in the entertainment industry for underrepresented groups are needed. According to UCLA’s 2019 Hollywood Diversity Report , people of color make up a mere 7.8 percent of film writers and only 12.6 percent of film directors come from diverse backgrounds. Reunited And It Feels So Good, Millennium Tour Takes Us Back To The Early 2000’s

Source: Local: B2K 2019 Millennial Tour_Contest_KBFB_Dallas_RD_January 2019 / CS – IONE DIGITAL   Last week I was able to relive one the best time periods in my 20 something years of living along with so many others at the Millennium Tour. Going back to a time where Jersey Dresses, Slouch socks, bamboo earrings, and men wearing 2XL everything was considered a trend, this was a show I could not miss. The best moment about this particular time period was the music. Lloyd had us wanting to go to the south side, while we chicken head with Chingy at the H oliday-Inn , we were all slowing down for Bobby V, Grinding with Pretty Ricky, rying to be J ust A Friend  to Mario, and explaining to B2K why some of us made the perfect Girlfriend . There were many popular child stars and groups that was in our age bracket we felt there was chance to chosen, which I feel is lacking in today’s music. Who are kids listening to in there age bracket and who is this generation growing up with musically? As a child I had posters plastered all around my room and school lockers from the Word Up Magazines t o the CD covers. So covering the Millennium Tour was nothing short from amazing. Was I the only one who kept CD’s on repeat feeling like I was being sung to knowing damn well half of those songs we shouldn’t have known in the first place?  Well it’s truly an amazing feeling to grow up with the stars you admired and I can honestly say the feeling was mutual for these performers as well. r While I enjoyed the show as if i was back at a Scream Tour, I did run into a few familiar faces. Now there were much speculation about certain artist not being apart of the tour and why,  but somehow they made there way to Millennium Tour right here in the ATL. Check out what your favorite childhood stars, see what they’ve been up to along with what they have in store.

Comedian Ian Cognito Dies On Stage During His Performance

Source: Peter Dazeley / Getty 60-year old comic Ian Cognito died on stage during his stand up show in front of hundreds of fans who all thought it was apart of his act. According to reports , Cognito sat down on a stool while breathing heavily, before falling silent for five minutes, and the crowd at the The Attic bar in Bicester thought it was a joke, so they continued to laugh. Veteran stand-up comedian Ian Cognito has died on-stage – literally. The audience thought it was part of the act. Died with his boots on. That’s commitment to comedy. I’ll never forget his kindness when I started out & how god damn funny he was. — Jimmy Carr (@jimmycarr) April 12, 2019 South Central Ambulance Service arrived shortly after and the veteran comedian was pronounced dead on the scene. Sources say that Cognito had not been feeling well before the gig started, but insisted on going on stage anyway. Fans of the late comic took to social to express their condolences. I’d heard so many stories before I met him. I got to a gig & the promoter said “Ian’s here & is in the dressing room”. I didn’t know which Ian he meant, opened the door & a man was pissing in the sink and smiling at me. I remember thinking to myself “I think this is Ian Cognito” — James Acaster (@JamesAcaster) April 12, 2019 RIP Ian Cognito. Always absolutely lovely to me. A proper comedy legend. — Jim Smallman (@jimsmallman) April 12, 2019 Don’t normally do public tributes but Ian Cognito was really nice to me when I was new & said there should be more women in comedy. He then said earnestly he had a big opportunity for me. “Have you ever gigged…..in Barnsley?” — Fern Brady is in Australia (@FernBrady) April 12, 2019 Rest in peace, legend.
