Just what in thee hell was on this woman’s mind, torturing her newborn baby like that?! A California mom was arrested Tuesday on charges that she murdered her 6-week-old daughter by microwaving her to death. Ka Yang, 29, of Sacramento, is being held without bail The baby, Mirabelle Thao-Lo, was found dead in her home with “extensive thermal injuries” on March 17. “She had some really deep tissue burns,” Sacramento County coroner’s office told the Sacramento Bee. “…It was probably the worst case I’ve ever seen.” Yang initially claimed her daughter’s death was caused by a seizure. The arrest took three months because investigators had to pinpoint what they believed was the cause of death by looking at similar cases, including ones in Ohio, Texas and Virginia. Yang’s three young boys, who are all under the age of 7, have since been removed from the home by child welfare workers. Officer Laura Peck said Yang’s motive it unknown. No lawyer was listed for the mom. “We wouldn’t assess her mental condition,” said Peck. “That will be up to the court system. The bottom line is no one knows what happened in that house but her and the little baby.” SMH. This is sick on so many levels … what mother could do this to her own child? This is definitely a sad story, but it kinda makes you angry at the same time. LAWRENCE, Mass. — A woman who withheld potentially life-saving medications from her autistic, cancer-stricken son was sentenced Friday to eight to 10 years in prison by a judge who said her actions “really do chill one’s soul.” Kristen LaBrie was convicted of attempted murder Tuesday for withholding at least five months of at-home chemotherapy treatments for her son, Jeremy Fraser. The boy died at age 9 in 2009. LaBrie, 38, wept and apologized before Judge Richard Welch handed down her punishment in Lawrence Superior Court. “I am remorseful for my actions and I wish I could have done things differently,” LaBrie told the judge in a courtroom packed with sobbing family members and friends of both LaBrie and the boy’s father, Eric Fraser. “If I could do it differently, I would, because I certainly miss my son, and I think about him every day and I wish he could be with me and my family,” she said. Jeremy Fraser was severely autistic, nonverbal and developmentally delayed. He was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma shortly after he turned 7 in 2006. His oncologist testified that she told LaBrie that her son’s cancer had a cure rate of about 85 percent to 90 percent under an intensive, two-year treatment plan that included doses of chemotherapy to be given during hospital stays and clinic visits as well as at-home medications LaBrie was supposed to administer at home. LaBrie testified that she largely followed doctor’s orders during the first four phases of his treatment. But she acknowledged that she stopped giving him the at-home medications during the final phase of treatment because she could not bear to see how much pain and suffering the side effects of the medication caused him. Many of LaBrie’s family attempted to plead with the judge to be lenient on her: LaBrie’s older son, Matthew, 18, wrote a letter to the judge asking for leniency. “My mother was nothing but unbelievably kind, caring and completely devoted to Jeremy in every aspect of her life,” he wrote. He described his mother sitting by Jeremy’s bedside while he was treated for cancer at Massachusetts General Hospital. “Something like that takes a toll on a person and after all that, could anybody so easily sit by and watch while a cure is making a child feel worse?” Jeremy’s uncle, Andrew Fraser, spoke to the judge before sentencing, saying he wanted to represent Jeremy and Jeremy’s father, Eric, who was killed in a motorcycle accident seven months after Jeremy died. This little baby has a crushed spleen and broken ribs from a brutal beating he suffered Friday. So why have the police failed to charge anyone for the crime? Friday paramedics were called to a Brooklyn apartment to save the life of little 17-month-old Kymmell Oram. 32-year-old foster mother Teyuanna Cummings claims she found the baby struggling to breathe and coughing blood after she left her 19-year-old boyfriend to care for him. But her boyfriend was nowhere to be found for two days until yesterday, when he finally went to the police for questioning. “He walked in alone without a lawyer and he’s talking,” a police source said. Kysheen Oliver, whose nickname is “Killer,” hasn’t been charged. The 19-year-old was at the 75th Precinct stationhouse in East New York. Oliver had been on the lam for two days, with cops seeking to question him in the beating of Kymell Oram. The tyke’s foster mom, Teyuanna Cummings, pointed the finger at her much-younger boyfriend as she was grilled by police. “Now the blame game begins,” a police source said. Kymell suffered three broken ribs and a crushed spleen in a horrific attack that left him clinging to life at Brookdale University Hospital. Cummings has told police she left Kymell with her boyfriend so she could take two other foster kids to school. She called 911 after returning to her Fountain Ave. apartment and found the boy couldn’t breathe and was coughing up blood. The city’s Administration for Children’s Services has asked Family Court to put Cummings’ other foster kids in protective care. An ACS worker had paid a visit to Cummings’ apartment last month, but found nothing to suggest Kymell was in danger. The boyfriend’s name is KILLER! And they didn’t charge him. It gets worse… At least one employee from the city’s Administration for Children’s Services came to his foster mother’s East New York apartment, but saw nothing to suggest 17-month-old Kymell Oram might be in danger. “The apartment was in okay shape and there was food in the refrigerator,” a police source said. “Apparently that’s all they look at.” Neighbors said the suspected abuse was an open secret. One told the Daily News she saw Kymell more than once sitting alone crying in a hallway. “Sometimes when the baby was crying they would leave the baby outside the door,” Maribel Pejada said. “He would hit his head against the door trying to get in. It was awful.” Pejada heard the boy screaming Thursday morning. None of the neighbors ever called the police. As Kymell lay near death at Brookdale University Hospital yesterday – three ribs broken and his spleen crushed – police grilled 32-year-old Teyuanna Cummings. And they were looking to question her 19-year-old boyfriend, Kysheen Oliver, known in the neighborhood as ‘Killer.’ No one has been charged. Cops responding to Cummings’ 911 call just after 9 a.m. Thursday about a child with difficulty breathing were horrified by what they found on Fountain Ave. Kymell looked “like he was thrown against the wall on a daily basis” and was “covered with deep bruises,” sources said. “That boy is her pride and joy,” said the foster mom’s lifelong friend Michael, 40. “She loves him like you wouldn’t believe. I’ve never seen a more caring mother.” Michael said the little boy flatlined at the hospital, but the “good doctors were able to bring him back to life.” Police sources said the boy had tears around the anus that made investigators initially think he had been sodomized. “It is possible the injuries came from kicking the child like a ball,” one of the sources said. SMH: A woman who acknowledged performing sex acts on a 2-year-old child while a man in the United Kingdom watched live via a web-cam has been sentenced to 20 years in prison. Julie Carr, 33, of Mars Hill, Maine, was sentenced Monday, a year after confessing that she sent videos to the man. U.S. District Judge John Woodcock said he had dealt with many child pornography cases and ‘yours is the worst case I’ve ever seen.’ The Bangor Daily News said he told Carr that, ‘it is incumbent upon me to protect … the people who can’t protect themselves.’ Police in the West Midlands region of England discovered the videos, which were recorded by Nicholas Wilde, in June 2009 while investigating another child pornography case. The videos were traced to Maine, and Carr was arrested two days later. She said Wilde ‘conned’ her into doing it, according to court documents. Wilde was arrested on June 11 2009 after sending child sex abuse images to a 16-year-old girl he met in an internet chat room. The girl and her mother contacted the police and Wilde was traced and subsequently arrested by officers from the child exploitation unit at West Midlands Police. The teenager of Holmbridge Grove, Sheffield admitted 10 charges of making, possessing or distributing indecent images of children and also possessing extreme pornography. Wilde also admitted two charges of incitement to commit sexual assault of a child under 13 – offences that led to the arrest of Carr. Carr was arrested following a probe involving the American Child Exploitation Unit, the Online Protection Centre and the United States Embassy. At his sentencing, the court heard that detectives seized a computer and a memory stick from his bedroom, uncovering a collection of photographs at the most serious end of the child pornography scale involving children as young as 18-months-old. The memory stick also contained footage of a woman in Maine, who later turned out to be Carr, abusing a young child. Jailing Wilde for four years and eight months, Judge Hilary Watson said of the exchange with Carr: ‘It was entirely for your benefit, at your direction, for the sexual gratification of Nicholas Wilde.’ The judge added his youth was ‘very worrying’, saying: ‘You have your whole life ahead of you and the potential to re-offend is very great.’ Makes you wonder how this monster only got four years, doesn’t it.
