The ESPN reporter will perform on Monday night’s live show despite recent threats by a crazy person to murder her . She says she’s in it to win it. “I’m glad I’m here. I don’t want to let Maks down, I don’t want to let my family down, and I don’t want to let myself down,” Andrews told People . “I’m not going to stop living my life.” Erin will perform the waltz with Maksim Chmerkovskiy , her partner and rumored love. Erin Andrews — Emailer Talks ‘Suicide Vest’
The ESPN reporter Erin Andrews has been receiving death threats according to her lawyer. Last September, a number of threatening e-mails concerning Andrews have been sent to Don Patrick, a sportscaster. Just until recently, the e-mails were turning violent starting last month. The e-mails which were received in March were specific and violent, and they even identified the location and the process of the planned murder. Andrews first came to know about these e-mails on Thursday morning. Dan Patrick, formerly working at ESPN, provided and revealed the existence of the threats to Andrews. Currently, Andrews is provided with round-the-clock security for her safety. Marshall B. Grossman, her lawyer, requested to heightened security at CBS Television City in Los Angeles, where Andrews is one of the contenders on the show “Dancing with the Stars.” Michael David Barrett, pleaded guilty to a federal stalking charge in December. The prosecutors accused him of changing hotel peepholes to enable him to shoot video of Andrews while naked. In March, a federal judge sentenced him to two and a half years imprisonment. Marshall Grossman said that an alleged man has been sending at least a dozen e-mails since September last year, threatening the sportscaster. DirecTV provided them to Andrews’ representatives Thursday, but it was not immediately clear to whom the e-mails were addressed. The e-mails at first were sexualbut it has been getting explicitly violent recently and “threatened Erin with murder,” Grossman said. They also had details about location and method. The messages discuss the case of Michael David Barrett, who was sentenced last month to 2 1/2 years in federal prison for secretly shooting nude videos of the ESPN reporter. “He refers to Barrett in his e-mail in a way to make clear to us that situation had some influence,” Grossman said, but added that the man appeared to have no ties to Barrett. The FBI has been notified, Grossman said. He said the man’s identity is known to law enforcement and is believed to live on the East Coast. An e-mail message left for an FBI spokeswoman was not immediately returned. Andrews is not yet seeking a restraining order but has asked ABC to beef up its security on “Dancing with the Stars,” Grossman said. Private security also has been hired to protect Andrews and her family.
