Despite playing a tough game against No. 6 Xavier University, the No. 11 Minnesota Golden Gophers were eliminated by the Musketeers 65-54 Friday in the opening round of the NCAA Basketball Tournament 2010. State defeated North Texas with 82-62 score. One of the shocking upset is the Notre Dame lost to Old Dominion 51-50. Two games in NCAA Basketball Tournament 2010 went to overtime and three in buzzer beaters. Meanwhile, The 12 th seeded Cornell Big Red beat the 5 th seeded Temple Owls today 78-65. Cornell had three players score in double digits; Louis Dale led the way with 21 points, Ryan Wittman had 20 points and Jeff Foote added 16 points. Cornell shot 39% from beyond the three point line on their way to the victory. Temple’s top two scorers were Juan Fernandez and Ryan Brooks who had 14 points each. While No. 15 Morgan State University kept it close against No. 2 West Virginia, the Bears fell apart both on offense and defense in the second en route to a 77-50 loss Friday in the opening round of the NCAA Basketball Tournament 2010. The Mountaineers advance in the East Region and will either play No. 7 Clemson or No. 10 Missouri in Buffalo, NY in the second round.
