Jill Kelley is an unlikely figure to be involved in a major government scandal, but was instrumental in exposing the Paula Broadwell-David Petraeus affair. How did the 37-year-old mother of three end up in that position? Kelley, an event planner, had e-mailed the mayor of Tampa, Fla., mayor before, according to People ‘s new cover story , but never under these circumstances. On November 14, she e-mailed Mayor Bob Buckhorn about news crews camped outside her home. “To put insult to injury, your police department gave the local 911 tapes to the press!” she wrote. “I’m scared and cannot believe what my city – in which I have contributed so much of my love, time, money and leadership – has now done to me and my innocent family.” Buckhorn did nothing about Kelley’s complaint and attributed the release of her phone calls to police invoking “diplomatic protection” she’s not entitled to, to “public record.” For Jill Kelley , an unpaid community liaison at MacDill Air Force Base, who placed herself at the nexus of Tampa’s military-civilian circles, his response was telling. Her fall was now going to be as spectacular as her rise. Not that she didn’t have company on the way down. By cozying up to two four-star generals, Kelley inadvertently exposed the scandal that brought down Petraeus. After admitting an affair with his biographer Paula Broadwell , the CIA Director and former chief of U.S. Central Command was forced to resign. John Allen’s promotion to head NATO forces in Europe is also in limbo while what government officials describe as suggestive e-mails he wrote to Kelley. How did every thread in this tangled web link back to the chatty, flirty Kelley? Her connection to FBI agent Frederick Humphries – who she notified after receiving threatening, anonymous emails – was the missing link, leading the bureau to Broadwell. Apparently jealous and threatened by the raven-haired Kelley, Broadwell told her to quit flirting with Petraeus in emails that Humphries used to uncover the affair. But Kelley’s entry into their world ran deeper than that. For military lifers like Petraeus and Allen stationed at Central Command in Tampa, the relative glitz Kelley and her twin sister brought proved enchanting. “Here’s the thing about commanders: They can get isolated. It’s nice to have civilian friends who support you,” says an active duty Army community-outreach official. “Mostly it’s a nice thing. This one backfired.” Epically.
Heidi Klum hosted the MTV Europe Music Awards last night, appearing on stage in Germany and saying some stuff… introducing some musical guests… handing out some trophies… Okay, we’ll be honest: we didn’t listen to much of what Klum actually said. How come? We were a bit distracted by the outfit she wore on the red carpet of the event. It’s not hard to see why, is it? Yes, during an evening that featured Kim Kardashian nearly stumbling to the ground, this super model stole the show by leaving her bra and her inhibitions at home. What do you think of Heidi’s dress? So hot! So not! View Poll »
Fallout from Hurricane Sandy may have kept some crowds away from theaters over the weekend, but that did not stop Disney animated feature Wreck-It Ralph from packing a wallop at the box office. Box office in the top 12 headed northward to $124.6 million, 20 per cent higher than the previous week. 1. Wreck-It Ralph Gross: $49,038,712 Screens: 3,752 (PSA: $13,070) Week: 1 The Disney animation had a terrific bow, cashing in on great reviews and a solid marketing campaign. The feature also made $12 million internationally, making the title Disney’s top animated pic The $49 million plus domestic total compares to $40.1 million for Chicken Little in 2005. The opening compares to Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted , which brought in over $60 million when it opened in June. But Ralph helped bring up an overall box office which eclipsed the previous weekend. 2. Flight Gross: $24,900,566 Screens: 1,884 (PSA: $13,217) Week: 1 Flight cruised with strong results in its opening weekend, even edging out the weekend’s number one box office winner, Wreck-It Ralph in terms of per screen average. The results were stronger than expected and shows Denzel Washington, who is tipped to be a force this Awards Season due to his performance, is an audience draw. This is Washington’s fifth best debut. 3. Argo Gross: $10,209,103 (Cume: $75,860,240) Screens: 2,774 (PSA: $3,680) Week: 4 (Change: – 16%) The Ben Affleck-directed feature in which he also stars is continuing to show very solid momentum now one month into its theatrical life. Word-of-mouth is propelling the feature’s box office prowess and it will likely hit the $100 million mark in the next few weeks. 4. The Man With the Iron Fists Gross: $7,910,980 Screens: 1,868 (PSA: $4,235) Week: 1 The gross is in line with what was expected, but it’s still a bit of a downer. It should reach a lucrative overseas market. 5. Taken 2 Gross: $5,919,493 (Cume: $125,586,929) Screens: 2,639 (PSA: $2,243) Week: 5 (Change: – 23%) The film dropped 356 theaters in its fifth weekend, though it actually managed to climb the chart one notch compared to the previous weekend. Its 23% drop is also a sign of momentum and it should top out at $145 million.
Should Chris Brown Still Face Probation If Rihanna Has Decided To Date Him Again? Yesterday, Chris Brown had yet another day in court to update the judge on the status of his community service activities and to evaluate his compliance with his 5-year probation sentence received as punishment for the felony assault charge he faced after delivering a brutal beat-down to his then girlfriend Rihanna back in 2009. via Huffington Post A judge on Thursday ordered Chris Brown to remain on supervised probation and make another court appearance after he completes an overseas tour. Brown remains on supervised probation for felony assault for an attack on Rihanna in 2009. He is scheduled to begin a tour that spans several countries in Europe and South Africa on Nov. 14. On the upside, in the almost 4 years since the incident occurred, Breezy has completed countless hours of community service , checked in regularly with his probation officers and at his court hearings, and has even “reconciled” with the victim of his vicious attack. Brown “appears to be making a sincere effort to comply with terms and conditions of probation,” a probation officer wrote in a report prepared for Thursday’s hearing. The report recommended that Brown remain on probation under the same conditions he has abided by since pleading guilty to the attack on the eve of the Grammy awards. Brown appeared at the hearing along with his mother and attorney Mark Geragos. He did not speak during the proceedings, and when he attempted to at one point during discussions of his schedule, Geragos joked, “I don’t dance, you don’t talk.” Brown is scheduled to return to court Jan. 17. However, on the downside of things, the former blonde-haired bad boy has also thrown public temper tantrums, lashed out publicly at businesses and the media for not supporting him , and even failed a drug test during the course of his probation. Not to mention becoming the poster child for a PR nightmare with his repeated questionable decision-making, such as choosing to dress as a terrorist for Halloween. Despite his troubled past and sketchy present persona, some feel that Rih-Rih’s choice to reunite with her lovesick loverboy, in addition to her letting the world know that she has forgiven him and still considers him “the love of her life,” should exempt him from continuing to face legal consequences for committing a crime against someone who now welcomes him into her life….and her bed….on the regular. So we think it’s time to address the 50,000 pound, bright pink elephant in the room and see what you think. What say you Bossipers? Should Breezy still have to face the music for puttin them paws on Rih-Rih in 2009, or is it all null and void since she’s back to letting him chop her down and feel her up?

These hoes STILL winnin’!! Reggie Bush’s Girlfriend Is Pregnant Things aren’t lookin’ good for Reggie Bush’s bank account for the next 18 years. According to Bossip sources close to the Dolphins’ baller say his live-in, Armenian, boo-thang (no, not THAT one) Lilit is knocked the fawk up! “WTF was I THINKING about?!?!” Apparently, Reggie spilled his seed in ol’ girl on a romantic trip to Europe towards the end of the summer where he wasn’t too interested in using an “umbrella” when “playing in the rain”. Our insider tells us exclusively that Reggie and Lilit have been together for a little over a year, and he moved her from L.A. to Miami so she could be on his arm during the NFL season. We’re also told that he’s PISSED about the whole situation, but she is VERY adamant about keeping the baby, so Reggie isn’t going to fight her about it. When will these stupid ninjas learn to stop dealing with these off-brand, good-for-nothing, can’t-wait-to-be-a-baller’s-baby-mama azz hoes alone?! SMH…get your life together Reggie! Sidebar: If you have Reggie on your fantasy football team you might wanna bench him this weekend. He’s liable to be a lil’…distracted.
Wow. These new synthetic drugs are no joke. Via NBC News: Johnny Lewis, an actor in the popular “Sons of Anarchy” motorcycle-gang cable drama, died early Wednesday in Los Angeles, suspected of killing his 81-year-old former landlord, Catherine Davis, and possibly himself. Police think the 28-year-old rising star, who played Kip ‘Half-sack’ Epps on the FX show, may have been under the influence of a drug few have heard of, a substance known informally as “Smiles.” It’s part of a new wave of synthetic drugs finding their way onto America’s streets and into its clubs. With the chemical name 2,5-dimethoxy-4-iodophenethylamine, it is known by drug agents and chemists as 2C-I, part of a closely-related family of “2C” drugs. Like all the 2C drugs, it’s a psychoactive, hallucinogenic chemical that alter the brain’s balance of dopamine and serotonin. Smiles is particularly powerful, binding to serotonin receptors in the brain at 20 times the rate of another drug used in schizophrenia research, according to an experiment performed by Purdue University chemists. The effects of 2C-I, like those of LSD, can last up to eight hours. But because the effects can take time to appear, users may think they haven’t taken enough to get the desired high, and so take more, risking overdose. The drug can be taken as small tablets, on pieces of blotter paper like LSD, or in powder form, often mixed with something else, like chocolate. Labs, often located in Europe or Asia, can use legal, common chemicals to produce huge batches of the drugs. Once one formulation is discovered, and banned, all the chemists have to do is slightly alter the structure of the molecules to create another, potentially legal, substitute until that one is banned. There is no known geographic hot spot for the 2C drugs, unlike, say, methamphetamine, which became known as a rural, small-town problem. The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration believes that most, if not all, the 2C drugs are being imported to the country, not made domestically.
