Pippa Middleton, the sister of the Duchess of Cambridge, will be sharing her cooking tips with the masses in a new column for UK supermarket chain Waitrose. Middleton will write for its Waitrose Kitchen magazine. Her column name? “Pippa’s Friday Night Feasts.” We eagerly await Pippa’s signature French bread recipe . Don’t laugh. Her foray into kitchen advice is just the latest offering from the party planning pro. Celebrate , her first book released last year, is a a guide to entertaining through the year, built on the experience she gained working for her family’s business. Her parents, now best known for producing Prince William’s wife Kate Middleton , also own and operate a successful event planning company. The book by the sister of Britain’s future queen was both praised and pilloried in equal measure but did not sell well and was quickly discounted in book stores. William Sitwell, editor of Waitrose Kitchen , said readers would enjoy hearing from Pippa Middleton and her relaxed and easy entertaining ideas: “Pippa will be an excellent contributor to the magazine, bringing with her a wealth of experience of entertaining, gained in part from working at her family’s business.” Her first column will appear in the magazine’s April issue. Middleton said her column would be an “exciting opportunity to share my own passion and enthusiasm for food and entertaining and I can’t wait to get started.”
In his new biography, music executive Clive Davis goes into detail about how he helped shape the careers of such icons as Whitney Houston and Bruce Springsteen. But the immediate reaction to “The Soundtrack of My Life” has focused instead on a detail Davis included about his personal life: He’s bisexual. Twice divorced, the 80-year old executive says he began to explore relationships with men during “the era of Studio 54.” One night, Davis writes that he was “open to responding to [the] sexual overtures” of a male suitor. He admits that he was “nervous” to do so, but the experience was generally “satisfying.” Davis has been in a monogamous relationship with a man for seven years now and tells Katie Couric on her talk show this week: “I’m still attracted to women. You don’t have to be only one thing or another. For me it’s the person. I’m in a monogamous relationship, [and] I respect monogamy. And I hope that this is understood.”
I’m lucky enough to be writing my 3 rd MBE and I am so grateful for that! Justin Bieber is such a big part of my life and I want to thank him for taking time out of his busy day to meet all of us. Here’s my experience when he came to my hometown of Ottawa, Canada. It all started when he announced the Believe Tour dates and I knew I had to get tickets with my best friend Alyssa. I went to two concerts on the My World Tour, where I won M&G’s for both! Since the experience was absolutely amazing, I really wanted to meet him again so when they were selling VIP Tickets (very close seats + M&G) I had to get them! I saved up my money, got the tickets, and the countdown started. It was finally the day of the concert and I was SO excited! We always go super early to his concerts for a chance to catch a glimpse of Justin before he goes inside the venue. Unfortunately we didn’t make it in time and he came out for a few minutes to talk to some lucky fans before we got there. He was really rocking those overalls. Since this isn’t my first concert experience, I knew exactly where I could sneak into the venue to find a bathroom to get all ready to meet Justin. We changed our outfits, fixed our hair and makeup, and then went to wait in line. Finally it was our turn to walk in through those black curtains and meet Justin Bieber. The next few seconds happened so fast, but it was totally worth it. We greeted & smiled for the camera. I was so up close beside him for the picture so when I asked for a hug afterwards he turned his head to me and we were legitimately face-to-face, so close, looking straight into his beautiful eyes! Seriously, I melted inside. He’s like, “Of course!” and bear hugged me. AHH still freaking out! We saw a lot of the Bieber Team just hanging out around the M&G too, which was pretty cool, I said hey to Fredo. We had 3 rd row for the concert but we really wanted to be right beside the stage along with the other girls who had the privilege to do so . So when Justin came on, we just went for it (even though we didn’t have the bracelets we needed!) and surprisingly security didn’t say anything to us. So thankful for that. We ended up being first row, how incredible? The concert was absolutely AMAZING and we were so close to him. Justin would literally be dancing right in front of me and I could see the sweat dripping off his face. He’s grown so much as an artist and performer since the My World Tour, and it was amazing to witness it. This experience I will cherish forever. Decked out in a suit and tie, Justin Timberlake debuted two tracks beyond ” Suit & Tie ” last night. Accompanied by a 15-piece orchestra, the singer performed his first live concert in five years last night, taking to the stage in New Orleans for a AXS TV/DirecTV-sponsored event. First, there was “Pusher Love Girl,” written about an addictive romance. Tierra LiCausi is the new Courtney Robertson. Only time (or The Bachelor spoilers ) will tell if she follows in the Black Widow’s footsteps and actually wins The Bachelor, but she’s certainly 2013’s villain/crazy person. If you thought Tierra falling down the stairs last Monday was going to be her most dramatic moment on the show, boy are you in for a surprise tomorrow: The Bachelor Clip: Tierra LiCausi Loses It In our experience, when a Bachelor contestant cries, “I don’t want to be here at all. I’m done with it,” they actually do what to be there and are rarely done with it. They just want more attention! That appears to be the case with Tierra LiCausi, who goes through the following process in this awesome sneak peek of Season 17’s fourth episode: Feigning that she will, like, stay positive/above the fray. Starting to crack after tense convos with the other girls. Becoming paranoid that everyone in the house hates her. Threatening to leave in hopes she’ll be asked to stay. Insisting that she’s better than this treatment/show. Saying f–k it and going for broke with Sean Lowe. Taunting peeps that she “gets what she wants.” Okay, maybe a little too unstable to be the second coming of Courtney Robertson , who knew exactly what she was doing the whole time. But still entertaining.
Is American Idol racist ? American Idol Denies Racist Allegations Via TMZ reports : Four “American Idol” finalists from different seasons — two of whom are black — insist the singing competition is many things … but racist is NOT one of them. TMZ broke the story … nine black ex-contestants are planning to sue “Idol” producers, claiming the contestants were publicly disqualified based on their dubious criminal backgrounds … solely because they’re African-American. But Season 6 finalist Melinda Doolittle adamantly disagrees, telling TMZ, “It is shocking to see such allegations. In my experience on the show, the ‘Idol’ team strives to champion everyone, regardless of race. However, each contestant is explicitly told that the withholding of information that may compromise the show or artist, can and will result in immediate disqualification.” Season 4 finalist Vonzell Solomon adds, “I didn’t experience any of that [racial discrimination] … all of our contracts were clear about how the background checks worked and that we could be disqualified if we lied about our past.” Two other former contestants — Season 5 winner Taylor Hicks and Season 10 finalist Casey Abrams — also agree. Casey says, “I don’t know why they are biting the hand that fed them. Those guys beat thousands of people who wanted to be on TV. Idol is picky, but I’m not sure about racist.” Taylor — whose Vegas show is still going strong — adds, “American Idol is for everyone. All walks of life go through the show. Not once did I see the show discriminate towards anyone. It’s all about the votes.” FYI — “Idol” has had three black winners in its history … Ruben Studdard, Fantasia Barrino and Jordin Sparks.
